I do not understand our team at all. Nada.
How can the players look so sharp against Leeds then next two games look like they just woke from a 10 year coma?? important win nevertheless

Maguire, Varane and De Gea looked very good ...
It was a bad performance really. A dysfunctional performance. Cant criticise the forwards too much as they didn't get enough of the ball and they looked fairly sharp the odd occasion they did.

Broadcast here was interrupted 2 mins before we scored and I missed it ffs

Great result, though, Varane with an assist haha

So if Solskjaer doesn’t get involved in training or tactics, what exactly does he do? A glorified motivational speaker?

Something desperately needs to change in relation to our tactical setups.

Individual brilliance has bailed us out. Where have I seen this before. This win shouldn't take the focus away from a shocking performance.

Commentary were saying GK should have done better with the goal but Greenwood strikes it with such pace it’s not easy and feels harsh on Mason and their GK saying he should have got it!

Poor performance, great result. Winning after a poor performance is a positive, but this level can't become the norm. Time will tell if this was just a bad day at the office.

Worse than Southampton, should have been 2-0 down at half time if Wolves could finish.
Stole a win.

But two performances in row like that are extremely worrying.

Questions need to be asked.

Abysmal 1st half, bad 2nd half, but 3 points so cant complain though.

Fred, Sancho and James were woeful. Pogba, Bruno and ABW bad, the rest were ok-decent. Have to feel with Wolves though. Been the better team in the first three matches, and somehow end up with 0 points

Watching Fred is woeful. We really need an upgrade on him. DMF is such a key role in a team and ours gives the ball away for fun.

Tough game but we showed real grit. I honestly think Wolves are going to hurt teams this season. Look very organised and energetic.

Sancho still looks off the pace but Varane looked solid - and got an assist! We’ll get better but ole has to learn you cannot play Pogba with Fred. At this point I’d like to see vdb with Pogba and Bruno in a flat three. While playing a high line… wishful thinking I know. Still 7/9 isn’t bad with two tricky awaygames out of the way

Get in. Horrible performance though. Tactically it was embarrassing though. Whatever Ole was thinking of with the midfield was shambolic. Pogba is a class player but he's not a deep midfielder. Certainly not next to Fred who just isn't a holding mid.

Attacking plan was basically "give it to a star, they'll figure something out" which isn't a plan and isn't something that Sancho will ever suit. It's why I loved his signing. I want us to get away from that. But the gameplan today was fill the team with attackers and give it to somebody to figure it out on their own, which is some garbage coaching.

Varane was brilliant, De Gea saved us, Greenwood shows that when you test a keeper they can always feck up and gift you a goal.

I'd love to say we can move on positively after that, but I don't think Ole understands that we can't get away with lineups like that regularly.

We always, always struggle against Wolves. Huge 3 points, the type of 3 points that help make up the difference on the 12 points we finished behind last year.

Varane was very good.

So lucky. We win because we have better players in key moments (De Gea and Greenwood), but we were horrible with no shape or plan plan.

I don’t really care how we played in this one, we’ve mostly struggled to put away Wolves over the last few years.

Also don’t care that this is only the 3rd game of the season, but I just have this hunch that this team is going to progress massively over the course of the season and we’re going to do a lot better than most on here think.

Positives

De Gea rolling back the years.
Varane looks class along side Harry.
Defence is sorted.
Mason is an assassin.
3 points.

Negatives

Everything else

Great result, think we would have lost/drawn that in seasons gone by.

Worried about the midfield. We can't control a game and play at such a slow tempo. We really need a CDM. I pray we go for Neves or Bassouma before the window closes.

Hopefully the performance was more to do with early season pains and players getting up to form and fitness but they won't get away with many like that. Big result though and Greenwood is a gem.

We were terrible today, especially in the first half.

McTominay is one of the most important players in this team. With him + an upgrade on Fred we're a 90+ pts team.

Horrible performance, but it's always ugly against Wolves. The lack of ability to control the midfield is a real concern. Varane is a huge positive, I thought he was excellent for the most part, though lost the header that nearly led to Wolves scoring if it weren't for a super save from Dave.

Not great, but I'll certainly take it.

Dig up stupid!
Absolutely brilliant result given the performance

Throwback double save from Dave

Greenwood was the only one to play well and deservedly got the goal. He's comfortably better than Lukaku

Got over the line when we didn't play well and kept a clean sheet, which is something we didn't do last season. De Gea MOTM.

I really struggle with that attitude. We were piss poor and yet you're happy we won?
If we continue like that, other teams will punish us. Ole still struggles to make us play great football as a team. So we need to address this now

I think it’s very generous for Fred to be getting an average of 3.9

Lucky win. We were awful the first half. It was a little better in the second.

DDG my man of the match.

Mason, and Varane were good.

Good goal line clearance by AWB.

Unbeaten away from home for 28 games. Wow!

A solid win, but a sub-par performance overall. But people need to chill out with this "Most undeserved win".. blabla, Wolves created ONE clear-cut chance, but it seems DDG has found his way back to his old-self. Shit, he even played the sweeper-role today!

But our central midfield is a big problem in my opinion. Pogba just does not seem to find his place there for United like he does for France, and this really needs to be sorted. We cannot keep up with either City, Chelsea or Liverpool if we don't. Not even Ronaldo can fix this.

Shocking performance, thank god for Varane's stunning debut. Wolves weren't going to score with him on the pitch.

Worrying display from Sancho but he needs time before we write him off.

Something needs to be done about that midfield. It's clear for everyone to see.

DDG unreal! No. 1 goalie again. Varane good debut. Thanks Mason. Sancho needs time. Our midfield needs strengthening. Pogba should be as far away from our goal as possible.

I'm not his hater, but Ole should take most of the blame for the plethora of underwhelming individual performances tonight.
Playing 4-2-4 with the front 2 pressing high on the pitch & the midfield 2 (consisting of players that are not fit for a midfield two in the first place) sitting deep in front of a relatively deep defensive line? Our forwards hardly ever dropped deeper to participate in the build-up, so most of our chances or half-chances came from Pogba playing a long ball forward.

I'm speechless. Michels' triangles, Sacchi's compactness... who needs tactics anyway.

Although there I had a weird feeling today that we would win it somehow, never doubted it. I'm not sure where I've got it, we were certainly not comfortable and we weren't a better side by any margin.

De Gea was quite good tonight even aside from those insane reflex double save. Varane looked very assured, Greenwood provided the only threat further forward & Pogba had been quite good, albeit positionally suspect, in the second half (after an atrocious first half performance). That's about it for the positives.
