His best long distance goals! I still think his goal against Porto is his best long distance strike.

The amount of those goals where the keeper is just rooted to the spot or the swerve has totally done him and left him flapping is hilarious. The majority you can see thinking WTF was I supposed to do about that? You love to see it!

Just saw the numbers. Very unlikely he beats Rooney but I think its odds on that he beats The King and becomes our second highest goalscorer of all time.

He won’t catch Rooney, but he would have done so if he had returned when he left Real in 2018 :(

I can't wait for the inevitable quotes to come out in a few weeks of Ronaldo talking about how good Greenwood is

Deary me. Imagine how Ronaldo must feel being buttered up by everyone.
Most of the first team grew up watching Ronaldo dominate PL and La Liga, biggest games in CL. They will be buzzing to train and play with him.

To Marcus, Keep up the good work"

I imagine for a lot of the players actually seeing Ronaldo will be somewhat akin to looking at a deity, even if they are colleagues. There's a giant picture of the man at Carrington the players look at every day

It will feel as if everything has come full circle for him I imagine. After coming first as a kid with ambition and a point to prove, his colleagues regularly put him in his place and kept him grounded on the way to success. This made him more mature and gave him a platform to become the best. Now coming back for the 2nd time, he will be the main focal point from the start and immediately have the respect and adoration of everyone.

You couldn't write a better homecoming story if you tried

Yeah, it's a brilliant script. Can't wait to watch him play for ManUtd again.

Any chance Maguire offers Ronaldo the club captaincy as a mark of respect? I think everyone will see Ronny as the true leader and captain of this team anyway even without physically having the captains armband (our best player and our most senior/experienced in terms of trophies/caps). But I think from a marketing/commercial and PR perspective, it'll be like the Golden Goose for the club/Glazeiers and make even more $$$$$ having Ronny be captain for both club and country. The fans love him and he would be like the bridge between the fans and players/club

not to mention players like Rashford, Lingaard, Greenwood etc all look upto Ronny and admire him as most was kids in the Academy when Ronny was here last time. Plus he played with Ole so will be Ole's "right hand man" on the field.. It'll be a great story :keano:

Also didn't Maguire become club captain straight away when he joined? Imagine all the scenes of the players and staff trying to get selfies with him in training on Wednesday? he will be mobbed it'll be manic won't be much training! Also Manchester United now has a woman's team which they didn't have when Ronny was here before.. and most of them are big Ronaldo fangirls following him on social media even before he joined United:lol:

However, Parker does not believe the striker himself will be content with a bench role, nor will fans who have spent big on guaranteeing their seat for his return.

He told the Talking Devils podcast : “There’s no way in a million years can he have Ronaldo on the bench. It would be ludicrous. Ronaldo wouldn’t allow that to happen!”

“He’d be the worst sub in the world especially when things aren’t going right. There are a lot of people paying silly money to attend this game and they don’t want to be singing about a player they idolise who is on the bench.

Parker not avin' any of this "Ronny starting on the beach against Newcastle" bollox!

He's right though.. people have paid massive money (someone above said hotels selling for grands l!) and made huge sacrifices (rearranging weddings and funerals I heard!) to attend this game mainly because of Ronny coming home. Olein and Oleout would unite against him and he'd be lynched (not literally but figuratively). Surely in the infamous words of Louis Van Gaal.. you give the fans what they want, we fecking start him and "GOOO FOR ITTTT!!!" :keano:

Think we are waiting for our first game which I agree is really annoying.

1k for a hotel?!

As opposed to just taking a tram a couple of stops for about £50/60?!

International breaks generally suck, but the one at the end of the transfer window, where everybody just wants to see their new signings play for them and the season get going, is by far the worst

Went to Adidas store in town this morning they‘re out of numbers/letters for most of the kits, they had the home cup lettering left and the rest was done, i placed my order and the backlog is days old I’ve gotta call back tomorrow to see if it’s even done.

The guy in the store said he’s never seen anything like it.
