There's nothing special about our purchases under Ole, half of them at least have been questionable.

Where the grass is greener.
Look this is the make or break season for Ole and his staff. Our coaching and tactics have been under question for years at this point. With the players we now have, it's simply sink or swim.

Those complaining about Ole's coaching ability and losing despite having a great bunch of players at his disposal. Let me put it to you had Ole not been the manager had we been fortunate to have these players at the club? Another revolving door of player ins and out is what's going to happen if Ole is sacked.
What’s the point of recruiting those players if we play like shit?

This is the bottom line i feel. Pundits have been saying this as well. Is Ole getting the best out of the players that we have? Or would another coach do better with them? I think the answer is yes.
A better manager would.

But we'd have to go out and actually hire one.

I can say other managers would have likely purchased different players. The question should be would another coach get more out of the players we have at the club?

I would say probably. However, it's not guaranteed.
Simple, Ole as DoF. Then bring in a coach who can actually coach, and who will focus on coaching.

20 shots for them and 2 for us. The last one came in the 24th minute. This be understandable being down to 10 men if it was someone decent but it’s Young Boys
Exactly. There were extenuating circumstances for the defeat - a red card will always be extenuating circumstances. But it was the manner of the defeat, so utterly gutless and devoid of even a modicum of ambition. The manager and coaching staff looked like deer in headlights (not for the first time) and that simply isn't good enough at this level.

And why the f*ck, after three years in charge, has he still not been able to educate the players on how to pass the football and keep possession. We're just awful with our use of the ball.

This. AWB is an especially shocking signing, for a manager who has made us spend £130m+ on CBs who need to be 'ball playing'

Funny how we couldn't get the ball back with 3 midfielders and 5 defenders, and yet still CDM will solve all our problems.

With our coaching staff there's only plan A. If it doesn't work, we're stuck. It was the same vs Wolverhampton. Only that time we got lucky, not so much tonight.

Replacing our coaching staff will do more good than buying new players.

In fairness to Ole he has bought really well. Remember moyes signing Fellaini or LVG signing Rojo. Then mourinho is a negative manager.

I just think we can play better with the players we have.

Just need Kante and Kyle Walker before we are ready to compete with Young Boys. Then he can be judged.
The funny part is that some actually believe there's a midfielder out there that would fix all our issues in possession.

Who exactly is that other players ? Maguire and AWB fine. For 130m, we could have done better but that's a different discussion. No manager is saying no to Sancho, Bruno, Varane and Ronaldo.

Ole has done whatever he can. I appreciate his involvement and the club is in so much better position now. That toxicity is gone and we are climbing up places. You have to tell at some point that , we need a better manager as well .

Let's see how we fare with Dalot as a rightback and eleven on the pitch before questioning the defensive switch. We were going to be living dangerously.

At 1-0 it was a reasonable switch. Didn't entirely agree with subbing off VdB and would have gone with Greenwood for Cristiano but they didn't look like scoring in a month of Sundays unless we gifted them a goal, which we did.

Really? We were pinned back the entire 2nd half.

In 3 games out of 5 this season, we have been really poor. Can see this being a long hard season.

See the big problem with this performance more than result is how many top teams or teams whose level we want to be do that ? Last shot 24th min, sitting off and giving them the ball while playing 1 CM?
People saying imagine City, Liverpool or Chelsea in this position they still would of been on top. They are right because these are the teams we need to challenge for the league so we need to be as good as them.
This is Ole’s big season yes we are light in CM but he has spend 450m+ and the expectations this season are higher with most hoping for a title challenge or/and a deep run in the CL.

Yes these matches happen occasionally but it feels like it happens too us more than other top teams

Don't see style of play at club compared to others. From 18s to 23s to first team philosophy is bang a load of individuals together and hope for the best.

Did that happen with Chelsea and Tuchel?

This is my main problem with this club over the last few years. City prepared for Pep, Liverpool wanted Klopp and bought into.
We had LVG who deserved to be sacked but he brought a possession based game and bought the players to do so. What do we do ? Hire Jose who played completely different and had to sell loads and buy loads to suit his style.
We don’t seem to have a plan for a set way of playing for years

I look at it like this. Where do you rank Ole in terms of managers around the world? He's clearly worse than Pep, Klopp, Conte, Tuchel, and Zidane (many more are better than him but let's leave it at this for arguments sake). That makes him at best the 4th best manager in the EPL. Would fans be okay if we had the 4th best striker in the EPL? Or would we be looking to improve on the position? Clearly we'd be unhappy as a fanbase and look to get a better striker than our rivals. The manager should be looked at in a similar way. I only mention Conte and Zidane because they're jobless currently. And a CLEAR upgrade.

I’ve said this for a couple of years, Ole is very good at identifying the players or characters needed but simply not anywhere near good enough coaching or managing them.

I’m not going to speculate on who we should be looking at as head coach but it simply isn’t Ole unfortunately and I say unfortunately because I desperately want him to succeed and love the guy, he’s been backed to the hilt this summer and we’ve got arguably the best squad in the league so there’s no excuses anymore I’m afraid.

Do you seriously think Ole is the 4th best manager in the PL? You think Ole is getting West Ham 6th? Or Leicester 5th? Ole would have Leicester in midtable & would have West Ham in a relegation battle. He is nowhere near the 4th best manager in the league. Give Ole any of the bottom 10 teams from last seasons table & other than Everton he 100% takes them all down.

This is what worries me, We are depending more on individual talent to bail us out under Ole then playing a systematic football.
No way we looked better compared to LVG/Jose era but it was talents like Rashford/Bruno/Cavani rescued us many times with their individual display.,
I like Ole and i want him to succeed so hopefully he recruits an young coach who can really get us playing in a style

I don't think it's coaching. We need two first choice midfielders. One who can win the ball in the middle of the park and keeps it solid via short passes (e.g., Kante or Fabi) and a second who can control the pace in the middle of the park (e.g., Scholes or Pirlo). We should let Pogba go; he is a Gerrard-type player without Gerrard's will-power.

We have a fantastic crop of players now. I feel it is now fair that Ole delivers. I’ve been more than happy to give him time to assemble a squad that can challenge for top honours, I didn’t think we had it before but I do now. I’m more than happy to see if Ole can turn around our poor start to the UCL but this is the moment where he has to deliver otherwise he will lose his job.

I don't think Ole has to go, Ole is a good players coach and knows our culture. He just needs to bring in a coach who can actually create attacking football. Kieran/Carrick have been the culprits.

Poach someone from Poch's/Tuchel/Klopps/Guardioala's team & pay them a lot of money, and let them implement a proper style of football.

Klopp, Guardiola and Tuchel are head coaches, they are very much involved in the training and style they look to implement, not as easy as just poaching one of their coaches. Their coaches compliment their approach, our manager doesn't really have an approach, he's a pragmatic manager, not a progressive one. How we play differs from game to game.

No I think he's way worse, I'm just comparing him only to our rivals.

You think a guy who isn't ruthless enough to ship out Lingard or replace any one of our 5 assistant coaches would be able to do that?
