I think we’ve been horrible the last matches but he has saved us. That’s how feel at least, maybe it’s not based on reality as I’m still high on adrenaline from watching the game
We were horrible in our third game too but Greenwood saved us.

How the hell can you say we were horrible today? Should have been a comfortable win if red didn't feck up.

A tricky winger named Ronaldo knocked Ruud Van Nistelrooy off the throne, and now, over a decade later, Ronaldo has returned and is basically Ruud.

He's getting the chances, which is the main thing. Could have scored at least one more today, but still such a talisman for us already

But far, far better. Quicker, more instinctive. Still has a tiny turn of pace at 36 to make 10 or 15 yards matter. I remember thinking Ruud was the best pure striker I'd ever seen, you can sense it watching Ronaldo. A goal is just an inch away from him, always. He's always a threat.

I could only see Cavani scoring those type of goals in our team. It's actually crazy how our players don't gamble on rebounds
I don’t even see Cavani scoring goals like that. Last time I seen something as ridiculous as him was Ruud mate.

It’s crazy cause Ruud made his career out of goals like that. Only thing is, Ruud was in his 20’s and Ronaldo is statistically doing a better job. It’s actually mental how good of a player this man is.

If he takes us to PL or CL, he has to be GOAT.

Don't be silly. He's better but just by a bit. Ruud was a striker extraordinaire for us. His goals to games ratio is up there with anyone.

Ronaldo had a couple poor moments but otherwise was very good. Gives us what we need in that striker position.

4 goals in 3 can’t be grumbled at but I think assists might be a bit rarer.

I meant as a striker who is ready to pounce on any rebounds. Cavani scored a few goals like that for us and in his career

He’s Alan Shearer on steroids.

He’s so good it’s mind blowing.

Ronaldo was not going to pass the ball anyway. I doubt Greenwood himself would.

It is how strikers usually play.

Statistics prove you wrong. Almost 800 goals for club & country in ~1100 career games. He's streets ahead of Van Nistelrooy. And Ruud was my hero back in the day.

Still surreal to see him in a United shirt. The standards he sets in that age is mental.

Got a bit annoyed that he didn't square his open chance to Greenwood but can't blame him for giving it a go.

In any case the way he adjusted his game is extraordinary. He’s so fecking good and I’m literally laughing as I type this out.. We have potentially the best player in the world playing for us and that means we’re in with a shout for everything!

Ruud was ruthles, but almost always inside the box. Imagine him, running from half the pitch like he was blown out of catapult, like Ronaldo did against YB. No comparison

He's talking about the current version.

To be fair Ruud in his prime is absolutely best striker in the world at that time. And I do think 36 year old Ronaldo is slightly better. Maybe their output is similar (36 year old Ronaldo vs prime Ruud), but I think overall Ronaldo has mentality/leadership edge, still moves quicker and better with the ball on his feet.

It's ridiculous when you think about it. He is a trailblazer in terms of professionalism and work ethic. His game works for any league, any team, any competition

He defends better than most of our attacking players. Should've passed to Greenwood though. That selfish play is unjustifiable.

Yeah lad because he’s arguably the best to ever play the game. I don’t think we’re truly getting how good he is.

kouroux, I’ve known you for interacted with you for a long time but I was never as hopeful as I am today.

We’ve got Ronaldo. That is all.

His movement is incredible. I was concerned he might have been offside for today's goal and the one against Newcastle but he times the runs perfectly.

It's unequivocally amazing that at the age of 36, he has strolled back into the PL and dominated from the first moment. I don't see who can possibly be called a better player than CR. He has proven himself on much more varied stages than Messi, who has yet to make any impact whatsoever at PSG, and has not been as effective for Argentina as Ronaldo has for Portugal. CR's performances in his second stint here cements him, for me, as the best. Messi is equally skilled, but only within his comfort zone, and noone else has been as good as these two.

He scores goals but I sometimes miss that striker who can hold up the ball and bring someone in to play.

Please take this to the Messi Vs ronaldo thread.
