As much as I like Poch, if he doesn't win something big this season, or at least come very close, then PSG should look elsewhere. He has been backed a lot, and needs to show now that he's not just a nearly man.

We tend to think that Ligue 1 should be a given for them, even if last season showed that might not necessarily be the case. However, this season he has arguably the best attacking trio in the game, the best captain and on field leader that world football has seen in the last decade with a quality defense around him, a world class goalkeeper, and solid if unspectacular midfield. Over the course of the season he should be able to utilize these resources properly to win the league.

The Champions League is trickier, but again, with the players available to him a semi final is the bare minimum they should expect, and realistically a world class manager should be able to guide a team like this to the final.
Well it’s similar to Ole in the sense that no one can say that he doesn’t have the tools now (Ole for the PL, Poch for the CL). Therefore the pressure is on. But I think people are getting carried away over one game (a frequent mistake). Poch has got to figure out a few things and the front three have got to get familiar with eachother (or re-familiar in Messi and Neymar’s case). Give them a few months and you’ll see how strong they will be in the second half of the season.

Tbf I think it's just a tad easier for Poch to win Ligue 1 with Messi and that incredible front line than it is for us to win the PL even though we have strengthened, we have multiple teams with squads every bit as strong as ours as well as two/three excellent managers. PSG should be walking that league, let's be honest.

If he doesn't win it this year it would be hugely embarrassing for him and the club tbh, there's probably more pressure in that internal aspect itself than there is from the competition in the league. And I mean no disrespect to Ligue 1.

They’re obviously going to win Ligue Un, they’ve won their first five games even though they’re still all over the place. I was talking about the Champions League for them.

Ah right, sorry I thought you were talking about the league after he didn’t win it last season.

Nah. That was clearly a disaster though that they didn’t win the league last season, I’m surprised Poch didn’t get the boot then.

I mean…..the Ole v Poch comparisons should probably wait until the end of the season. Or at least half way. I’m not 100% sold on either of them but I think Poch has been better thus far in his career.

Considering that PSG won after he was subbed off, I actually Messi should be the one looking like shit now and not Pochettino.

Should be the case no matter the result. It’s smug, disrespectful and basically a power play from Messi saying, “Don’t sub me again.” Totally unprofessional and out of order.

This is why I didn't want Pochettino to United. It takes a certain character to deal with top players while also creating a good atmosphere in the dressing room. Not everyone can be like SAF, Pep and Ole, but still...

He clearly doesn’t have any tactical patterns and relies too much on individual brilliance, he can’t handle big egos like other great managers who sign top class players with big egos. Bite

Im not trying to draw a comparison. Whether ole, ricky hatton, or captain birdseye is manager here, poch is still a dud imo.

Can’t be easy handling these three superstars and playing in a shit league, it’s never about the league… and winning all games is kind of the goal. A stupid career move from Pochettino probably taken in affect after not getting a few others, something he’s probably regretting often. And Messi… where to start, I’m not sure he wanted him either… you just know the added ability isn’t anywhere the extra pressure, media nonsense and politics that comes with him. Ronaldo is much easier, he’d want to score ten goals even in training and that’s that.

Not looking good for Poch, fall with Messi and you're pretty much out.

What a prick

Even if you aren’t happy with being subbed there’s simply no reason to behave like that.

Inevitable he is sacked from there mid-season and goes back to Spurs.

PSG dressing room houses the biggest egos in the world, he hasn't won anything of note to command their respect and it's showing. You don't fall out with Messi and survive, simples.

Wonder if Pep fancys the gig for a few seasons whilst Barca sort out their finances.

Can see Poch back at Spurs around Christmas, think Nuno was a panic appointment given the way their hilarious approach to hiring a new manager in the summer.

I think he's an absolutely brilliant player, and probably the best ever in history but Messi can be such an entitled little bitch at times.

I don’t think it’s that straightforward. They’d have to start losing games for that to be a possibility. ATM they’re not playing great but they’re not losing.

I don’t think you can blame Pochettino. Messi has always been a little prick.

Not sure about it. This is PSG, not Barcelona.
Messi should behave like an adult, spoilt midget.
I can't imagine Poch being supported over Messi. Anyway it's bad news for them, either Poch has to "discipline" Messi which would deteriorate their relationship or he will let it pass which would undermine him in the eyes of the squad.

Such is the difficultly of managing a team of high profile players.
