Really laying into Kane now. Not RAWK or Blue Moon levels of delusion and some really good posts but very entertaining all the same

Thought kane should of been subbed yesterday not sure he deserves a spot in the first 11 against Woolwich. Man needs a serious chat do you want to play for spurs.if yes fine show us you still have the desire. If no fine drop him to reserves and cash in January.

He was a passenger yesterday
We don't have a second striker. At least Mou had the good sense to get Vicinsus last season.

what was that, some sort of crotch treatment?
Sell the wanker in January and get a proper striker.

One who actually gets in the box and makes movements off the ball

Yep good post.

Kane's heart is not in it and yet we didn't have the fcuking sense or wherewithal as a club to buy at least one striker to compensate.

Bloke is a cnut in my opinion but him not playing well or giving his all should see him sidelined as opposed to being given a freedom of movement passport back into the first team.

It is an inescapable fact that City lost out on not buying him and we are losing out by having kept him.

After listening to the delusional Neville interview about how he would love to play with Debruyne and then Harry saying how he wants to play for Greaves memory....

He wanders about all game like a spoilt kid!!!

What an arsehole.

Got to love football fans. Really brings out the pits of behaviour.

We can't laugh too much. Plenty of similar nonsense about Ronnie when the city links began.

Some blame needs to at the feet of Levy. This is why you don't refuse to sell a disgruntled player when you are being offered top money.

Kane’s fault for signing the contract. Everyone knows what Levy is like.

I agree with you, but you turn down legit offers for a player that wants to leave and this was completely predictable. Both of them are going to look bad in the short term. Levy could be killing any momentum the team had to improve.

Levy blocked Modric's move to Chelsea and made him stay another season despite a transfer request. Modric then delivered his best season in a Spurs shirt. Being disgruntled about not getting a move is no reason to down tools.

Behind the right goal post as "Whiteside shoots!"
Given the fee talked about, this feels like everyone lost.

Kane would've probably scored loads at City and likely won some medals....

City would've been a better team ....

Spurs would have had a ton of money to invest in two or three good players and be less reliant on Kane and Son.

If the fee was £60m-£80m, I could understand it but if it was £120m or more, feel like Levy and his tough negotiation tactics might have been misplaced this time.

(PS. Playing Kane as anything but a 9 is stupid)

City would be gitting him in January, He's really down tooled hasn't he, looks disinterested, looks slow too.

Questions needs to be asked why Nuno shifted him out wide, a player as slow with the ball at his feet should not be playing out wide.

Didn’t City offer £75m + £25m add ons? If that was the only offer, I’m not surprised it was rejected.

I thought it was higher than that. Yeah, that really does not sound like a offer that should have Kane acting the way he is.

He has missed the boat.

He would want 5 year contract at a new club and i do not think anyone would want to be paying £300k/week until he is 34.

He is not blessed with mobility like Lewandowski so will slow down in a couple of years.

You cant just switch form off and on again if he got the move he wanted

The circumstances are not the same though. Kane has wanted out for a while and looked a goner already at the end of last season, was desperate for a move as opposed to Modric who had an unexpected opportunity just fall into his lap. He's not getting any younger, apparently some gentlemen's agreement were not kept etc. That matters in a players mental state and commitment.

I agree that a players should be professional but it can be difficult. There's no on switch.

I reckon it will improve as the season goes on, but it's always difficult to keep a very unhappy player.

He’s slowing down already. It would be absolutely epic if he fecked off to City for mega money just before hitting his decline.
Mind you, with City’s football even a one-legged Kane would probably score 40 a season

It could well be Torres to Chelsea for big bucks all over again

It's not necessarily downing tools though is it? When a player doesn't get their desired move, there can be a mental slump that takes some time to get over - their head not being in it is a perfectly natural human response for a lot of people, no matter the job.

Some can carry on unaffected, but keeping wantaways, there shouldn't be a surprise if that results in a drop in performance, even if that is only relatively short-term.

Levy's genius backfiring and harming Spurs should also never be a surprise to anyone. He's a master at it.

That would be glorious, so so glorious. For some reason I can’t see city going back in for him though. Have they ever gone back for a transfer target they haven’t got?

Don't think so, they either get their man or claim they're skint and the player chose money over Pep.

Kane's poor performances fit the narrative of him not wanting to be there but he's had many spells like this before, usually the "he' doesn't look fit" line gets trotted out but fact is he has form for this. Overall he is sensational but he's also capable of looking like a bit of a donkey at times. He's also had pretty much nothing to work with in an attacking sense.

Should have taken that 125m offer and reinvested. It's not like they have a bad team. With couple of reinvestments, they could have had a team fighting for top 4.

Ha so even on a Tottenham forum that Glaston fellows posts are so ludicrous even they think he’s trolling?

Hopefully he’ll treat them to a “daddy wants” level post.

I loved their Jose thread. There was some wonderful gallows humour in it, and hardly any zealots who’d bought into all his usual excuses as to why nothing was his fault.

“You’re right. Harry will win a few trophies with us by the time he hangs up his boots and then he’ll wonder why he ever flirted with Man City.

No player goes to Chelski or City for anything other than money, at least Kane loves this club, the fans and the new stadium.”

Why is it “trolling” to have a different opinion to you? Some fans are too reactionary, we’ve invested in some very talented players and will it will take time to gel.
We have once more invested in bang average muck or 'potential' (when we require players who make a difference now) and nobody we have brought in other than Romero will make one bit of difference to our season.

We are worse now than we were last year. Bale contributed 11 goals in the league, Gil won't get a single one, and Bergwijn and Moura between them will get 5-6 and that's me being optimistic. All we've done is brought in a singular promising centre back in a direct trade off with toby, signed a back up keeper, and signed a right back who on current evidence is no better than Aurier and worse than Tanganga. Oh and a lightweight Spanish kid who is nailed on to be out on loan for the next couple of seasons.

And to top it all off, we replaced a defensive, boring manager with a man who enjoys similar soulless football but has none of the reputation which might help with signing players, or any of the charisma. We won't be anywhere close to top 4. Anyone who believes we will is delusional beyond belief.

So much negativity. Think if we can bed in a similar starting XI to what we saw today (which had players not to familiar with the team such as Romero and Royal.. and also players not fully fit.. such as Dier and Son.. ) then I think we should be comfortably in the top 8.

I actually haven’t seen any evidence of a lack of motivation from Kane at all so think their comments are very misjudged.

The Palace game was admittedly the 1st of his career where he didn’t have a shot in the box or on target but that was no fault of his own. I guess he could have dropped deeper but wouldn’t really have helped.

Against Chelsea they were simply up against a better team and few came out of that with their heads held high (Dier was exceptional against Lukaku for 70 mins) - also worth noting Kane wasn’t the focal point of the attack. He played a little to the right and just off Son.

Every fan base has their idiots and they usually find their way to the internet.
