Finished it last night....very good show with some humanizing elements as well. Not quite sure if there will be a second season, but there would be plenty of directions they can go.

I’m not enjoying it as much as you guys, to me it’s watchable but not incredible.

Definitely recommend skipping previews on this one, and just go in blind. A lot of people do that anyways; I’m not normally one though and I wish I had.

Fun show. Time totally flew by, although the ending was sort of predictable. Wonder if there will be an S2.

The VIPs are awful. Noticeable dip in quality after they come into it. How did they get such dreadful actors?

I swear Japanese and Koreans are obsessed with this kind of thing
There's loads of similar stuff.

The dubbing only adds to the fun silliness.

If we're being honest it's very enjoyable but shite at the same time. Great for having on and not paying full attention to.

For a similar vibe check out Alice in Borderland and Circle.

i thought the partners game episode was quite disturbing in a way, obviously issues around mortality are front and centre of the show, but this episode added some poignancy. i was most moved. didnt cry though. im not a softhead.

Binged it and loved it. The suspense before each game begins is great.

As always, I wonder about important stuff.

The logistics and entertainment. There's just no way something like that would work with any amount of money involved, and that in absolute secrecy and with games set in different countries. The Sting x 1000?

And entertainment wise, the games themselves do not seem to be particularly interesting - to the possible bloodthirsty viewership, I mean. What would they get from 2nd or 6th game, for instance?

That's a problem with makers trying to set it in "real world". Alice in Borderland is similar, but they went the other way, and it feels more satisfying.

Overall, good show, I recommend.

PS: The absolute worst thing that people have done in this show is this (Graphic content)

I felt like it peaked at episode 6 and went slightly downhill after that, but overall it was still a brilliant experience. The introduction of VIPs etc. felt a bit pointless.

The way the VIPs spoke in ep 7 reminded me of NPCs in video games  so wooden and weirdly phrased. Was like listening to a Skyrim conversation.

It's good, and obviously quite similar to Alice in Borderland in terms of games and human life but enjoyed both

I think episode 2 was great because it avoided the whole thing of people (me included) saying why don't they just leave. They left, realised it's bullshit and came back to at least have a chance. Alice in Borderland, they had no choice which is fine but a lot of questions about it, this time they took those questions away

The acting from all the players (and the mum's) was great, or at least to me, as I felt invested in all of them to some degree. Even the ones that appeared for about 10 seconds in a game I felt sorry for somehow, and a bit of empathy when they willingly let people die in their place

The friend, Chang Soo, was great to hate but equally if in his position most would do the same. As much as I wanted to hate, it's literally a life or death situation. But what he did to Ali was cold, but unavoidable to survive. The only thing I didn't get, is why he didn't kill the main guy in the final episode instead of the girl? The girl he knew was basically dead and if he killed his friend (he would have known the last game only one survives anyway) then the last game is piss easy

The old man being the game master didn't surprise me, especially as they didn't show his death. Also that episode he kept saying it was like his old village etc. which made me a bit suspicious as to why it was exactly like he remembered

Also was I the only one extremely pissed off he went back at the end of the season to try and stop any more games? Like feck off man, take your money and go see your daughter. How the feck are you going to stop it? Moron

Also those VIP actors.... fecking hell. The script and acting from all was appalling. Completely took me out of it

Started watching it last night and immediately thought it was cheesy and shit. Next minute I was hooked... Only on episode 3 so far.

I didn't know it was available dubbed, mine came on subtitled by default. I can't usually watch programs dubbed anyway, it irks me too much how the mouth movements don't line up with the speech.

Yes  just mentioned in my post, those guys are fecking tragic. Completely took me out of the show when they were on. The script for them was shit admittedly but they were in general so bad and unbelievable. It's like they just picked the first 6 non Koreans they could find and told them to read this

i thought it was brilliant and no doubt there will be a westernised remake, with less gore and more empathy which will ruin it.

5 episodes in and, wow, what a show. It's kind of like a dystopian Black Mirror meets Hunger Games meets Parasite meets The Platform. I don't know if that makes sense but that is the feels this show has given so far. It's really hard to put down.

The VIP actors are stupid and I think they were used to stereotype Western society (i.e. United States) or developed nations. The VIPs that had the most dialogue or camera time were American sounding individuals and they were dumber than dumb who happened to have a lot of money. And the end....yeah, really fecking stupid if that's the character's next actual step. Totally ignores his mother's plea to fight for his child and focus on her. Just completely moronic.

I was really hoping season 2 would be games elsewhere and make us realise this is happening everywhere etc.

The show in my opinion won't work if it's based on someone trying to take it down. We all enjoyed the show because of the games and the what's it all about stuff. Him going to end it will be boring and not the point of it
