There will be immense pressure on all govt organizations to downplay the pandemic or worse declare it finished, so that Modi and his entourage could go on big election rallies in UP and ask people to vote for them to save themselves from Pakistan and the Mughals, and after all that is over, the departments would once again express deep concern and ask people to take care and stay indoors.

On a long road that returns to Old Trafford!!!
Whats this fancy number? Why not 71 lakhs to match Modi's age.
Anyways, all they need is to give out news reports and fake stats tha they vaccinated X amount of people.
Why even take the risk of fake stats? All they will do is stop vaccinating people 4-5 days prior to this date citing shortage of vaccines and then mass vaccination on the given date

When you think the country cannot fall any deeper.

Leave alone the savage photographer, even the policemen seem so eager to kill someone. In any protest, you see like 5-10 policemen want to gang up and beat one protestor with their sticks, though the guy can be restrained by 1-2 policemen. They have this urge to see blood, its insane.

The photographer is apparently a state official.

Is this Assam vs Mizoram issue again? Still going on?

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had tweeted after the eviction drive on Monday, "I am happy and compliment district administration of Darrang and Assam Police for having cleared about 4500 bigha, by evicting 800 households."

Reports say the government decided in June to repossess the land for a farming project and had served notices to alleged encroachers.

The Chief Minister had also visited the area. In a tweet during the visit, he said, he was there to "inspect the riverine areas that were encroached by illegal settlers near Dholpur Shiva Mandir. 120 Bighas land of the temple under encroachment of illegal occupants in the area have been freed by @assampolice and district administration. Such squatters would be evicted from all parts of Assam to protect our land and the Assamese identity from encroachers and intruders."

Mr Sarma also wrote: "We also offer prayers at Shiva temple to seek lord Shiva blessings. A short temple management and local people to set up a Manikut, builder guest house and boundary wall. All steps should be taken to turn temple into a tourist attraction."

Uttar Pradesh makes licences mandatory for anyone with more than four bottles of liquor at home

As per the new rules, people can store up to four bottles of liquor – two each of foreign brands and Indian brands – without a licence. With the home bar licence, one can store up to 72 bottles among 15 categories of liquor, according to the rules.

RB Singh, district excise officer of Gautam Budh Nagar district, told the Hindustan Times that people can apply for a licence at the district excise commissioner’s office, and the district magistrate will approve the application.

“The annual licence fee is Rs 12,000 while the security deposit is Rs 51,000,” he said.

Singh said that the rules are aimed at providing legal recognition to people who want to maintain a bar at home. “The rules are not for harassing any individual,” he said. “So, if anyone is holding a party at home, there is scope for leniency.”
