He played well. Defended well and got forward plenty. On the wrong side, brought on mid way through a frantic first half. He's not going to replace Shaw but he's a good backup.

A couple times he did excellently to either:

1. beat his man
2. shove his man off the ball and then #1
3. play a deft and clever one two to get past his man
4. knock the ball way past his man and run onto it in acres of space
5. make a clever run past his man into what could only be described as a whole new continent and get found by a midfieleder

...only to then flub the cross.
So that is at least 5 things he can do better than Telles.

But he might replace Wan Bissaka, who hasn't been good lately.

Martial for one. He didn't deserve to be named on the bench after his shocker vs West Ham.

I don't think Telles is amazing either. I was just curious.
Fair enough. I would rather have a potential match-winner though. I think one fullback, who can play on both sides, is enough. But yeah, in hindsight maybe Telles should've been there but I think it was the correct decision beforehand.

He's another one whose basic use of the ball is shocking. The club has to move on from these guys.

call me old-fashioned, but I’m really not a fan of wrong-footed fullbacks.

Dalot isn’t someone with bags of natural talent that you make exceptions for, he’s an average player and unless it was for fitness reasons, Telles really should have been on in his place

We shouldn't play him over Telles as LB next games. We lack the width when Shaw came off and Dalot didn't offer anything. Beside Telles's whipping cross could be useful for Ronaldo.

Worst United-performance I've ever seen. Shouldn't get another minute in the shirt.

Did he learn to cross from Bebe? He was atrocious defending and offered absolutely nothing going forward.

I know this comment is usually an exaggeration, but I honestly think that was one of the worst defensive performances I’ve ever seen from a United player.

When he let Danjuma shoot at the end.

And some folk want him ahead of Wan-Bissaka. Get a bloody grip.

Watching him play for United makes me remember my mother's words:
"with a bit of luck, you can be anything you wish to be".

I got laughed at on this thread this summer when I said Williams is better than him.

No idea how you can display such a lack of awareness of how to play the position you've been playing for your entire professional career. But Dalot really is the impressive kind of defender that has absolutely no fecking idea how to defend.

Still shit. Standard Dalot performance. I really hope that game stops the complete nonsense myth that a) he's any good, and b) that he can actually cross the football.

Can we put to bed the myth that he’s better than Wan Bissaka in any area of the game? He’d need to be a young Maradona to make up for how mead a defender he is. He’s closer to a young Madonna.

That was as bad a game I've seen from a full back in a long time.

Hopeless in defence and attack

Extremely poor, annoying we still have 1 more game left where he might play, can’t wait for AWB to get back

Sorry, Dalot! But tonight’s performance was just diabolical. Looked seriously lost every time in the defence and managed no dangerous crosses. AWB is miles better. That extended suspension may prove costly.

Terrible, one of the worst displays I've ever seen from any right-back.
