Games like that isn't good for the heart, but when it goes your way it's euphoric. DDG, Telles, Jesse, Fred and Ronaldo are heroes tonight. At half time I said that we should be pressing them higher and I'm so glad to see the team do it for the second half which created havoc right after the equalizer and one of Sancho or Pogba should've scored. In the end Cavani and Fred's pressing got us the goal and a big win.

We need to play like that against teams looking for the draw, I know Telles and Dalot are inferior options but they need to be braver, as does the whole team. We are Manchester United playing at home-show more fight, get to the ball quicker, commit some fouls if needed. Have to give Ole and the staff credit for the right subs, even though it could've come a bit earlier IMO.

On to less great observations-Dalot is not good enough. He can't play at this level bar showing inconsistent glimpses, we need to cut our losses with him.

We need to get a DM in January. Sell half the reserves if we have to, we have no one bar Matic and he can't play at the pace needed.

McT can only play with Fred, without him he doesn't know whether to press high or sit back and our coaches aren't good enough to drill it into him.

I want Ole to prioritise either Ronaldo or Pogba in the front three, having both of them leads to a severe lack of pressing. I wouldn't be opposed to see Cavani start against Everton with Ronaldo coming on later. Ole needs to make some big calls for a better balanced team at the risk of hurting a few egos.

At the end of the day, it's a huge result in a must win game, so well done to the team. Atlanta will be another where we'll probably concede, hope our firepower comes through again.

Spending 75m on Sancho will be Solskaers downfall. We dont have a midfield and the luck will run out.

She's unbelievable. Great face to put on a great night in the end.

In all honesty, we looked like we BELIEVED we were going to win in the second half. Yeah Villareal were dangerous in the first half, but a serious point of note is that we were missing 3 of our first choice back four and we were always gonna concede chances. Diogo Dalot had an absolutely shocking game, but to be fair to him that was partly Danjuma having a stormer of a match too. We needed de Gea, and luckily he was in one of his God modes.

The pain was worth it for Old Trafford to end up bouncing the way it did though, wow.
Glad to finally beat them. I hate those yellow bastards.

Why can I not tag this Sean_Red_Whatever guy who was actively hoping and predicting that Ole would lose his 8th CL game today?
If he is banned then this is the 2nd best thing today after our win just now.

Massive win!!! We really did snatch the win tonight and who else but Ronaldo to deliver that fantastic moment. We were ok throughout the game but Villarreal did a fantastic job in the first half at exploiting our defence and we needed De Gea to pull it out of the bag. 2nd half was much better, we were unfortunate to go behind but showed a lot of resilience to pull it back, fab goal by Telles too.

Much needed win by the club, we need to take the confidence from this and go on a winning streak as well as win against Atlanta to get some ground in this group.

Well I think we were due for luck against Villareal, because we did dominate the Europa League final and should have won it with the amount of chances we created, so I guess it evens out. For our performance, all I can is that was a sackable performance for Ole, and I think the headlines would have been very different tomorrow morning and rightly so. With the amount of talent and players we have in our team, undoubtedly a better manager would have got better out of his players. We have better players than last year, but it all feels so predictable these days from us. Teams know how to play against us. Bruno and Pogba are shut down in the center midfield and so they play out wide, and as long you block out good crosses, or let Greenwood cut inside and dribble his way in and shoot, there is no way we score. And once the opposition gets the ball, they can easily cut our midfield and expose our defense and run at us and we look really vulnerable then. Ronaldo is really saving us this season, or else we would have been worse off, I can't wait till Rashford comes back but Ole does need to change his tactics and play either Bruno/Pogba and not both of them, or we will suffer like today. I know this will be an unpopular opinion, but I do think it would have been better if Ronaldo did not come back to us, because of how great he was for us, and I don't want that when he eventually leaves, he goes on a low. But he does seem a shadow of his former self even though the goals are still there. If he doesn't succeed during his second time here eventually(that includes winning PL or CL which we won't) that would hurt because his presence has always been associated with success for us, and I hate thinking he is lesser of a player these days, or doesn't do much all game or should be subbed. Either way, goals win matches and he still does have that indeed, sometimes the supply to him still feels so dreadful after since his first game against Newcastle.

Yup. We had about 2x10 minutes where we really looked like we wanted it, but the other 75 minutes were diabolical.

Still though, Christiano fecking Ronaldo scoring in 90+5 in front of the Stretford End and its hard to not be ecstatic
Yeah it was very much fairytale scenes at the end. Hard not to have a beaming smile after that, although I’ll admit I’m becoming less optimistic about the season ahead with every game that passes at the moment.

Huge huge win.

I thought the overall performance was shite, again, and we continue to look an unorganised mess. Think that's 1 genuinely good performance in 10 games so far this season.

But still, it was a great ending.

Love me a last minute winner, great result , made up for Ole.
Michael Owen was on the postgame on BT Sport talking about "no goal is as satisfying as a last second winner". Didn't even give a sly wink to the camera. We remember '09 vs Man City & Mark Hughes, Michael. Thanks again!

Ronaldo's winner in the dying minutes of the game in front of Stretford End and watching Seema Jaswal - highlights of tonight's match.
Also David de God's performance

Waiting for someone to claim this win was the product of an Ole masterclass.

It wasn’t.

Glad for the win but we so dearly need a new coaching team even if Ole stays. This is more evident than ever.

Tough game, not a huge amount in it in the end.

Thought our general play was actually pretty good, just our defence was a shambles and our full backs were loosing all there one on ones. Once our defence sorted itself out we had mostly good control.

Thought bruno and pogba were poor, with pogba being the poorer. Bruno was at least fighting and making some good runs. Pogba did very little. I think they are both a bit to similar in that they both like to play Hollywood balls and produce little bits of magic talking big risks with there passing. Feel V.D.B is the better option instead of pogba and would offer the balance.

3 points and last minute winner though. Thats why we follow football isn't it.

Let's not beat around the bush, we were second best over 90 minutes. All our weaknesses right on show again.

But good form has to start somewhere. If we can't get a good result and a good performance, then a good result alone will have to do. The way the game went might be enough of a boost to the players to up our game in the coming weeks. The overall performance doesn't make me optimistic, but Ronaldo is worth a goal a game to us at the mo, so that gives me a bit of hope at least. The group looks a lot better, and I watched most of Atalantas game, they looked pretty ordinary, nowhere near their swashbuckling best. So I actually think we should get out of this group.

I dont know what to think. Great to get the win, but we were so poor. Villareal looked much better than us technically.

Do you think so though? We do this nearly every game. Play terribly, go behind, win somehow and then do exactly the same the next game. We've been doing it for 2 seasons now.

Positive: 3 huge points that mean we may get through group stages. Negatives: if we lost, there would be possibility of us sacking Ole and getting in new manager, this way Ole keeps his job even despite this awful performance and number of poor performances since season started.

Home game and DDG 100% Man Of The Match. Says it all. Ole saved buy one awesome, yet RARE strike from Telles, and of course.. the world greatest footballer ever. Again. But we have a different team this season, so lets see if it becomes something out of it. If not, Ole is gone after the season is over.
