Who's better. Clearly Ronaldo, Messi couldn't come to the Premiership and do anything near what Ronaldo does. Ronnie is stronger, faster across longer distances, bigger bag of tricks, can crack em on his left or right foot with equal venom. Clearly Ronaldo.

Messi would work in the premiership.

They both have their advantages and *****ly are too young to compare.
Ronaldo gets more into the game, hes always available, and phyiscally hes become much stronger this season. On the other hand Messi being smaller has his own advantages, probably a more complete player in the sense that he can play those inch perfect passes and get involved in quick passing exchanges, and he has a much better football brain, like Fabrigas Rooney.
Ronaldo has more power and is more direct and gets at defenders.. if he gets tackled he just gets right up and again runs at defenders. Really too young to compare but actually quite different players.

Messi pissed all over Chelsea last season so why wouldn't he do well in prem?

Ronaldo is however the better player messi's injury record has held him back abit.
If you watch him in La Liga you would see why. It would take him quite some time to adapt atleast.

I'd take Ronaldo anyday over Messi. Messi's just quick, which Ronaldo is too. An can honestly say that Lennon is better than Messi in my books.

Quaresma was rated higher than Ronaldo and was more experienced and had better final delivery plus better decision making skills than Cristiano when Barca signed him..

Ronaldo has steadily progressed and soon would become one of the best players in the world but where is Quaresma now? Doubt Ronaldo would've made a tremendous progress at Barca had they signed him…they wouldn't have had the patience to groom talents like him. Fergie and CQ deserve full credit for developing players like Rooney and Ronaldo in to world beaters.

Messi has better footballing brains and after his debut he managed to overshadow even Ronaldinho …Apart from the Liga he has delivered in the CL against top Italian, German and English teams. We can draw meaningful comparisons only when these players are around 25 or 26 presumably at the peak of their careers but ATM Messi edges them all.

That's because he was a couple of years older.

NEWSFLASH BRAINIAC!!! I DO WATCH LA LIGA AND I CAN'T SEE WHY. YES HE MIGHT GET FOULED ALOT BUT A PLAYER AS INTELLIGENT AS HIM WOULD LEARN TO DRAW FOULS IN INPORTANT POSITIONS. HE MIGHT HAVE TO PLAY MORE LIKE A WINGER BUT HIS CENTRE OF GRAVITY AND BODY STRENGTH IS EXCELLENT SO UNLIKE AIMAR HE COULD PLAY IN THE PREM.

Shit. Messi is an incredible player. Does things that look impossible at times. Takes people on as if they're not even there. I think Messi is probably better than Ronaldo due to a more direct and intelligent approach.

But Rooney will always have a more intellegant approach than Ronaldo yet this season Ronaldos been far better. He has his own strengths, hes much much stronger than Messi, physically hes tough to stop not to mention his technical brilliance. Although he isnt as direct, Ronaldo imposes himself on the game a lot more. Keeps picking up the ball and running and always involved. Both have their advantages. Different players really, Rooney vs Messi is a better comparison.

I know. Ronaldo is special this year also. But Messi is just incredible the way he goes past players. The true heir to Johan Cruyff.

he does, he's no rooney and ronaldo has far more which gives him a huge advantage but he does have a maradonaeque body strength. again not as much as tevez but he wouldn't be the first player to come to england and gradually beef up.

Maybe, but I think Ronaldo is alot more developed as a player just now. His end product is better every game, he knows when to dribble and when to pass, more clinical in his decision making. And he doesn't loose the ball as often as Messi.

Both are potentially world class players, both are different, although if Messi, given the right environment, might turn out to be better than Ronaldo. Heck, he even outshines Ronaldinho at times.

He has a lower centre of gravity which gives him better mobility I guess, but he would really get pushed out of games here in England..

To be fair this applied to Ronaldo aswell during his first season, but at this moment in time, for the Premiership, I'd take Ronaldo over Messi..

And in answer to original post i'de have to say out of the 2 of them, Messi just edges it due to the things he can do with the ball when he's on form. If Messi stays injury free we might be looking at the next best player in the world in a few years and that even with goothy there.

I really don't understand this approach on here that when our players play well, it has an inverse effect on other good players. The players are a lot closer than this thread would imply, even if Ronnie may be the better one. And judging Messi based on what he would do in the premierleage is a bit thck anyway.

As I've said before, comparing attributes of players that are different (even though they are both attacking players) is both pointless and nonsensical. You could compare who would have the greatest impact on the Prem or Utd's team but again, no one can say for sure. What I will say is that Ronaldo has features to his game that distinguish him from many a young prodigy, which is why I think he'll go further and be at the top level for longer.
