Lost the last 3 games he's been involved in. Concerning.
And you mean that he is to blame for the losses?
Absurd thing to say. He has played great in the games he has been involved in which is not something that can be said for Maguire (or Varane for that matter).
Corners are conceded. Against Villa cavani lost his man on the corner.

He was a lot better than Harry was before the change. He's been a lot better all season actually.

Don't want to jinx him for tonight, but he seems to have improved his aerial game. So far won most aerials per game of our CBs and won 9/9 aerial duels last game vs Aston Villa. Could be an effect of his back getting better, or just pure coincidence.

Good performance. Left bare by RB and CM but solid with Varane.
Whats GOAT? :)

Was very exposed because of constantly absent RB but did fine, thought especially second half was very good. Good in some 1v1 situations where I believe Maguire would have struggled. Not an easy task for the defenders to play in a totally new backline but him and Varane seemed to work well together.

Lindelof wasn't helped by Dalot but its frightening to see him back off as opponents drive at our box. There was one late on where he, Dalot and McTominay all decided to just let the Villalreal player run forward and shoot from distance. His style of passive defending leaves me sweating buckets.

Just seen a replay of the Villareal goal. Why the feck is he jogging back into the box and not trying to be in position for the ball in
He stopped running. There was no cut back and he was in front of the guy who scored so no idea why he didn't keep going ?

Noticed the same thing. He was at fault for their goal. He just casually stopped running. He’s too passive.
Him and dalot on the right had no communication at all

Dalot is just poor so it was really no surprise what happened to him
But lindelof is better than this and should have kept going IMO

Shock. Horror. Lindelof plays well. It's almost like he isn't horribly poor as so many *cough* Blunder *cough* try to make out.

Hard to communicate with a player so far out of position or turned as hard as Dalot was. Lindelof was still too passive, but Dalot certainly didn’t help him

I don't particularly rate Lindelof but to be fair to him, having to play next to Dalot would be difficult for anyone.

Jaap Stam would have struggled if he was playing next to Dalot tonight.

He was average, at fault for their goal.
He covered for two tonight. He more or less stopped their right side alone in the second half.
He looked bad at their goal but that cross should never had been allowed by Dalot.
Lindelöf tonight was very good overall.

Been our best CB so far this season and should be starting next to Varane for the foreseeable future. His passing has been very positive this season, always playing it forward when he can.
Maguire needs a wake up call.

Disagree. At failt for their goal, alongside a terrible Dalot but decent otherwise. Very good, not a chance.

Like I said look at second half he did both his own and Dalots job. That's not an easy task.

Same old complaints. When AWB misses his player, then Lindelof should have been there. When Shaw misses his player, then Lindelof should have been there too.

And still we disagree. Look at how passive he was for the far end shot that ddg made a great aave on in the first half. Ddg let him hear it too. Too passive. He was fine but for the goal, but no more than that.

Jaap Stam would've murdered Dalot long before the game finished, and maybe murdered Ole for not bringing on a different defender to play outside him!

With Victor you know what you're gonna get and you know its just the level below the very best. I go through our best sides and I don't even see a place on the bench for Victor. Seen too many good Man Utd centre backs to think Lindelof can be anything other than a half-decent back up. Wes Brown was twice the centre half and he wasn't ever close to being a starter outside of his time at right back in 2007-08. I'd take Henning Berg and David May over Lindelof any day of the week.

Varlof looked decent at times tonight. Lindelof is the in form CB, not sure if that’s good or worrying.

The goal was not his fault. Watch it again. The Danish commentators said it: he stops and actually has the goalscorer offside but Telles keeps him onside.

In that situation with everyone running into the box, you want to trust fine margina? Terribe decision.

He’s just happy to be there and watch while Varane does 80% of the work. Good game my arse, let’s hope Maguire is back soon.

That's nonsense no harm. You don't be thinking about playing offside in that sort of situation when you're all scrambling back in to your 18 yard box. He's missed the chance to block off the ball in by stopping running for no apparent reason. It's a bad call

Yes maybe Lindelof could have done better but you can see the anti-lindelof agenda when barely a couple of people in this thread or the Varane thread, mention how it all started because Varane decided to chase a ball way into the midfield and got caught out of position.
Lindelof has his faults but he definitely gets held to a much higher standard than Maguire and Varane.
