Funnily the angle they showed the ref is the only one that even remotely resembles a foul, and even then it's really only the still image that makes it look dangerous.

I can't remember why I joined this war.
I don't understand what Liverpool have to do with Barcelona's current predicament. I'm talking about where the club is at overall. They look like they're on a downward spiral.
I'd say they are pretty deep down already. Not even sure they are 100% going to avoid going bankrupt.

Oh yeah and it's partly your fault by selling them a crooked player for €140M.

Maybe if Sancho was playing on the right that would make sense. Unless those were supposed to be separate observations.
Thought he was on the right for some reason. Whoever was on the right left Dalot one v one with Villarreal's left winger too often.
First of all, Koeman will probably be sacked before the next Liga game. Second, as I've said, it's not even October. Third, La Liga is not as competitive as the PL. So "Barcelona are finished" is a bit premature indeed.
Sorry, didn't mean to upset you. I mean football is a 'premature opinion' kind of sport.

I think he was faking that injury initially because he didn't want to play for us.

This is what Barcelona without Messi looks like.

I just want a competent manager

We are finished. The eleventh best team in la liga took United to the brink

It can be if you want to win the league and lost three first choice CB's to long term injuries. You've lost one to a two game suspension and the other two for one game so far.

Where do you think United would end up if they had to spend a large portion of the season without Maguire, Lindelof and Varane plus a few other injuries thrown in too?
Definitely wouldn't make 3rd like you did last season much as it pains me to admit

Greenwood. Sancho and him swapped wings for about 5 minutes in the first half.

We got lucky a bit that Leicester wet themselves, but our form at the end of the season was very good.

Makes sense. Greenwood is pretty handy on the right. Can use his right as well as cutting in on his left.

Ole waits way too long to change it with subs though. Seems similar to Southgate in that way.

What's the rebuild look like? Or a better question is, how much work do Barcelona need?
Oh buddy, grab the whiskey.

all jokes aside, I think it’ll be 2-3 years. I kinda want Busquets, Alba, Roberto and Pique to ride off into the sunset and go all in with Pedri, fati, de Jong and puig. The fans and the city don’t know what to do with a proper rebuild became the greatest bandage in football history for all of Barca’s issues isn’t there anymore. But I say it’ll be about 2-3 more seasons before Barca are a solid team again and can spend on good players instead of throwing money away like Barto did

As a late September, mid ‘70s team building exercise imposed by Allegri to go on with the de-Ronaldisation of his team, it was an encouraging display from Juve and I am happily taking the win, the clean sheet and Chiesa’s sprints.

Chelsea could have well equalised at the very end, but we could also have doubled our lead earlier, so let’s take that for what it is and just move on quickly. It was a one-off, a sort of Matrix experience, nevertheless a much needed step forward, towards a cohesive, more-than-the-sum-of-the-parts attitude for us.

I'd argue Atalanta will be your biggest games of the group.

I watched your game. Dalot was exposed by poor tactics. He needed help on that side throughout the first half. I think Sancho lacks defensive awareness at the moment.
Are you implying Sancho should've helped Dalot?

Malmo are terrible. Their manager is the crap striker that used to play for Newcastle I think
Aside from the first 10 minutes, the first half was actually very decent. The second half was really terrible, but having half our starting XI injured and then getting our best defensive player sent off doesn't help. Malmö on a regular day is not good enough to compete in the CL and expect anything. When we play well, we can win (Olympiacos and Shakhtar wins at home 2014-15 for example), but everything has to click.

It's very much a learning experience to compete against far better teams - but yesterday was humbling. Just being in the group stages is massive for the club, especially financially. Malmö FF ought to be the club with the smallest finances of all the CL clubs this year.

The manager is indeed the striker that used to play for Newcastle, however after he left NUFC he went on to win the CL and serie A with AC Milan.

What happened to Barcelona?!?
2nd 0-3 defeat in a row
To be fair, this is how Barca always has been when Messi was injured. Only this time he ain't coming back. That's what you get for relying so heavily on one player to carry you.

On what earth is that a pen? Because he steps on his foot? He has to place his own foot somewhere, what is he supposed to do? Absolute shocking decision.
I would be fuming if that happened to us. Especially since Wolfsburg where the much better team in that game.

Very interesting group A and B. I guess Liverpool will be in control of the game but it will be difficult to have clear chances. The key will be to play near the Atletico area and cover his wingers, Luis Suarez does not beat anyone in speed

Ajax vs Dortmund should be quite entertaining, as both are well drilled attacking teams. Dortmund still have defensive issues, so this could be decided simply by who scores more, Haaland or Haller?

I wouldn't say Dortmund are playing particularly good football this season and I expect Ajax to be in charge of the game.

Sign me up too. One win in six? I believe.
Yeah I think we always struggle against them, going all the way back to when we drew two group games during the 08/09 season. Gerrard 'winning' a penalty at Anfield in the last minute to steal a draw. Then they knocked us out of the Europa League at the semi-final stage in 2010, and knocked us out of the 19/20 Champions League as well. We did batter them in the second leg but fell apart in ET.

Going to their place is always difficult. Feels like only Chelsea know how to go there and get a result.

1-0 City, Cancelo with it after a nice pass from Foden I think.

So jealous they have Foden. Meanwhile I have to watch Bruno Fernandes needlessly give possession away countless times and then be told he's our new age Cantona
