Very bad again and invisible through out the game.

Because of him United created just 3 big chances in last two games at home.

Edit- To play No 9 role for this united team is graveyard shift.

Ronaldo's scoring goals at 9, Cavani's scoring goal at Number 9.

Let's not excuse Martial's shiteness.

He's always the best player we have when he doesn't play.

United weren't good but let's not pretend like martial has been good
He's had one decent season for us since joining.

Cool, so you've just made this whole thing up?
Can you prove there's not a single person in this world who doesn't think he's our best player? Any survey results?

If not, I haven't made anything up. So stop nitpicking on a small detail, you pedantic arse.

The onus is on you to prove it, you made the claim.

Then don't bother mouthing off then.
I'll mouth off what ever I want about Martial in the Martial thread.

He's shite and he deserves it for now. For all the people who may think he'll come good and be our best player someday, think again.

By all means, keep arguing with yourself.

Literally no one says that so you’re just assuming stuff and then arguing with your self

Actually, I do know a mate who still thinks he can "be the best player at the club if he is allowed to get into his rhythm". It's just not on this board.

I'm not arguing with anyone on this thread, and have no plans to. He wasn't even playing today. Just slightly annoyed as to why his thread was bumped when he didn't even feature.

Unfamiliar sources but I'll put it out there

- Anthony Martial is one of the candidates at Borussia Dortmund as a potential Erling Haaland replacement in the summer, but the package of transfer fee and salary is too expensive for Dortmund. [Die Dortmund Woche, SPORT1 via bvbnewsblog]

- Anthony Martial is currently dissatisfied with his situation at #mufc, who would let him go for an offer of €50-55m in the summer - Dortmund would not spend such an amount and the track is cold as of now. [Die Dortmund Woche, SPORT1]

I think Tony will be here until 2024. Can't see anyone paying him big wages, and we may even and up extending his contract.

At the same time United aren't going to keep on paying ridiculous wages for bench warmers.

Pretty sure Martial's salary is bigger than all of them. I don't think Mata in particular earns a lot at all currently.
For a player who doesnt offer anything on the pitch and barely plays, he does earn a lot and his contract got renewed this summer.

Lingard and Jones are at the very bottom of our wage structure. Mata is paid less than average.
Yeah, "our wage structure". Mata earns more than Dusan Tadic who's had around 40g/a for the last 3 seasons (albeit Eredivisie largely).

Is Mata paid less than the average United player or less than the average player or less than the average premier league player? The guy basically offers nothing and hasnt for years but keeps getting rewarded anyway, as did Jones, as will Lingard probably.

Yeah but that's the important factor, you can't compare to other leagues or even other teams. They're paid by status of where they are. All our players could be earning less money

The Tadic one I'll give you that. I disagree that you can't compare to other teams or other leagues. Maybe now the PL has gone clear, it's looking more and more like that. But even then, I don't think it holds for the fringe players but we've had this discussion before.

Martial's inclusion on the bench seems duplicitous. He shouldn't be chosen over either Cavani or Jessie in any tactical situation. Needing a runner, track back, speed, finishing energy, chose Jessie. Need someone up front to get that final goal, hold up the ball, play off teammates, chose Cavani. I suppose if 2 wings need to be pulled... he'd be a choice but in that situation i'd rather move Paul up to the wing and DVB in for Paul or use Mata and play more narrow or have Telles overlapping playing more forward. I think we'd have been better served including more academy players at this point than Anthony. He must be bottom of the pecking order....

Comes on with 5 minutes to go but runs as if he played the previous 85 minutes.

No words for him anymore. And I was a HUGE fan.
I said this after the Young Boys game and got killed in here.

Coming on here to bash a player that came on for 5 minutes at the end of a shambolic team performance and hardly did anything wrong.

No words for you mate, only pity.

This is embarrassing bud.
guy only played 5 mins, anyone coming here to bash him is clueless
There is no enthusiasm coming on with 1 minute left of full time unless you’re a defender If you’ve played football you’d know that
Look how hard Cavanni and Lingard worked yesterday when they came on. Thats what I wanted from Martial 2 weeks ago.

I just can't believe that this guy has been called again by Deschamps with the French national team.

He's just the shadow of a player for 2 years and is still called in NT.

Entirely different situation.
I disagree, you either work hard or don't, regardless of the situation. Martial not working hard when down to 10 men is like playing with 9 men.

But we were sat in, holding our shape to nick a draw. In last night's game, we were desperately chasing a winner and pressing as high up as possible. Don't be dim, they're clearly very different situations.

I can't remember why I joined this war.

Does he suffer from long covid or something? He seems so lethargic every time he plays. 0 energy, no will to drive an attack forward, just trots around the pitch like he would rather be at home and play PlayStation or something.

Imagine having Gouiri and Nkunku in the form they're currently displaying and still calling up Martial.

At least when he's eventually gonna be sold he'll still have that French international tax I guess.
