This sounds promising!

I started watching Billions a few weeks ago. It’s got a very good cast, great music and a strong enough story line to keep you entertained and guessing. So far it’s not totally top class but no real complaints either. It’s weird. It could be absolutely amazing but it doesn’t take itself seriously enough at critical moments or something. It could be really heavy and dark but it’s not. The guardian called the smartest stupid show on tv and I think that actually kind of nails it.
I really wish Billions had a darker mood. They try way too hard to make the characters funny. It's a great show, I love it, but totally agree with that.

I guess that's the Showtime style. Their other shows aren't much different from what i've seen.

Rewatching Entourage. Thought it was dumb when it first came out when I was in college. But as a 30+ year old it’s a fun watch. So many great cameos and fine girls in almost every scene. Can never get sick of watching Ari Gold!

Just watching The North Water, very good so far. Grim and gripping TV.
having watched the Terror first (also on the beeb, and is a brilliant series), thought this was a low brow alternative, although only watched an episode and a half.

My mate said the same so I’m going to watch the terror next. I still really enjoyed The North Water. The cast was brill. Steven Graham is one of my favourite actors and Colin Farrel and Jack what’s his name was good too.

Watching Twin Peaks The Return/Season 3 for a second time. While I don't watch a lot of tv, for me it's easily the greatest show of the current golden era of tv.

There really isn't anything else like it.

I started watching 24 again out of pure nostalgia. I forgot how fantastic this show used to be.

Just thinking about what good stuff is due out soon and discovered there is a new Narcos being made . Out Nov 5th.

This is exciting.

Then you have The Witcher and Cobra Kai before the end of the year too.

Peaky Blinders won't be long after.

Succession is like a darker, more Shakespearean, version of Billions. I enjoy Billions but Succession is a level above for me.
I second that. Anyone who likes Billions should LOVE Succession
Guess I should give it another try then, I watched the first episode and wasn't really impressed, but I love Billions.

Got a bit sketchy in the last couple of seasons, but the first few were absolutely brilliant.

Imagine how good it would be now with the special effects available.

Which last season? The original one or the one a few years later? I liked the original one (season 8 iirc), & cried at the end of the final episode, but the actual final season was just okay, the one that aired in 2014ish. My sketchy comment had more to do with the Chinese-related seasons, just felt they lost the plot slightly.

Same here, planning to binge it next week once I finish Godfather of Harlem season 2 and season 5 of the Expanse.
Just finished S2 of Godfather of Harlem. Brilliant show. For such a cast I'm surprised it's not as talked about with most shows.

Yeah season 8 from around 2010. I'm not a huge fan of the extra season that followed a few years later. To me season 8 is where it all ended.

I don't know if I should thank you for this post because I realized I never watched that. But now I am binging the original Twin Peaks to prepare for it haha

There’s a good Irish show called Love Hate if any of you are looking for a crime caper. It’s probably the biggest budget Irish show ever. Givin it a rewatch now after a few years. It’s still very good.

Oh yeah, that has Tommy Carcetti and Ruth Negga. Really good show as I remember.

I think for the most part twin peak fans loved the new season although I've seen some fans of original show have a dislike for it as well. Like all things Lynch it gets a very mixed reaction from people, but the one thing everyone agrees on is that it's unlike any other tv show.

This comment on reddit really summed up the show

If you compare it to normal TV and say it's the best, it's like you're writing off the whole normal TV medium. But if you don't compare it to normal TV you're robbing it of recognition.

I thought it would take at least a couple of decades before Britain could come up with something as bad as Brexit. But I've just turned over and seen 10 minutes of what they've done to Nevermind the Buzzcocks.

Why?

And who signed off on letting bloody Sky have it? Have they ever done anything in this genre that wasn't shite? I'm actually genuinely pissed off.

New series on Netflix getting good reviews called squid game.
Fantastic so far. I’ve watched ep 1 & 2, first 20 mins of ep 1 the over the top Korean acting and voice dubbing was a bit off putting but after that it’s been fantastic. Go mix of humour, intrigue, mystery, predictable shock.
