Why the feck did they think that making a PS5 game compatible with the mobile version would be a good idea?

I think they’ve put all their eggs in the mobile basket. Knew this was going to be shit on consoles so made it free and whatever they get from consoles is a bonus but it was easy to port so they just went with it.

I see. So effectively chosen to slowly kill the franchise as we know it. Assuming due to the limitations of it being a glorified mobile game, they won't ever be able to produce a truly great game.

Great shame, PES 5/6 were possibly the greatest football games ever made.

That was a staple of my life at university, fifa already had a monopoly but this disaster just makes it even less likely they will drastically improve their own game.

The lack of licenses while it never bothered me was more then likely a huge factor in the deterioration of the franchise, its a different world now people can't look past the lack of licensing like we used to when we downloaded our memory card patches to get the correct names and kits.

Unless 2K decide to enter the market, can't see any other developer ever realistically competing with EA...

Wish they would go back to PES5/6 gameplay. Ok it may seem outdated and terrible in todays world but PES has been horrendous the past 7 years or so.

PES has been the best footy game around since 2015. It's only this year that they've made a mockery of the franchise.

Why are you laughing?

that post was referring to the 21 version which although a work in progress was actually a lot of fun. And that was console. If you download the pc version if this and patch it, it’s unbelievable

the bad reviews were related to the 2022 version released yesterday

so 2 different versions so why the laughter?

for the first time in years i have a myclub team and a manager that suits me, and i can hold my own with players rated in 900s, (ive always been around 500-700) and now they are going to kill it off slowly.

PES 19, 20 and 21 were very enjoyable, for me. This looks absolutely horrendous though.

You and me both, apart from I’m a 700-800 rated player that gets destroyed by 900+ rated players without fail.

My 8 year old turned it off at half time

I have to buy FIFA again for him this year. I’d have hoped he would have loved this so no need to spend £50 on another shite FIFA game

It's terrible to see this is what this once proud franchise has become.
PES ruled the roost for almost a decade and sadly lost its lustre with FIFA becoming more popular, despite the fact it's rubbish, and now Konami have completely taken a flamethrower to the series in an ill-advised attempt to compete for the casual market.

Strikerz Inc have to be watching this and thinking to themselves "We must not feck this up"

They have an open goal here to become the defacto #2 in Football Gaming if they get the release of UFL right.

Please for the love of god lads get it right.

I love how confident this Konami guy was. I think he deleted the original tweet.

Who the feck is he?
A deluded Konami fanboy who , after so much bum kissing, got himself a decent job at the company.
Used to own a PES forum called Katanamedia. He'd always go abit mad whenever someone would dare question the quality of PES, this was during the PS3/360 years of PES where the game was ,frankly, appalling.

Ah fair enough. You’d think that he clearly is passionate about the franchise so he’d make sure the game is as good as possible.

I'm in the pro scene for PES... all I'll say regarding this game is uh, oh.
What is this pro scene?

I know that there are a few global tournaments but I cannot imagine one being to make a living from it. Maybe Etoritto and a few others.

Tbf, he's just a spokesperson for Konami. He cant really do much regarding the quality of the game. He talks big though, always has done.

I mean surely he could tell them the game is completely fecked though? Instead he went and told everyone the opposite.

He's reasonably good at building up hype for PES/Konami, I give him that.

Adam Bhatti, now there’s a name I haven’t heard in a while. Not even going to bother downloading this shambles. Been there since the ISS days back in the 90s, favourite games were PES 3, 5/6 and then 2013. So many glory days playing these and really haven’t liked any of the FIFA games during these times. Always been the same unrealistic nonsense.

Yeah it's not developed enough yet, so there are only a handful of players earning a living from PES.

11x11 leagues, WAPES, Esportsrivals, PESPRO etc. are what I refer to as pro scene, 1v1 is a broken meta fest

If you can get your hands on the free 2021 version that’s pretty fun to play

Adam Bhatti did have a shit fit at Konami once. Not sure what PES had you unlocking boots for your ML team (they’d all start with black boots) but he leaked the info to cause outrage and I believe it worked as they changed it soon after.

But he talks a lot of shit. He blocks anyone who has a negative opinion about the game

So now what? Is there an alternative? Im carrying on with myclub on pes21, as I've finally hit a purple patch and edging towards 1000, but no doubt it will soon be killed off as theres nothing new coming to it. I really can't be bothered with the trading / grinding aspect of FIFA UT, and also find the wall to wall promotion of its loot boxes unedifying at best. Certainly wouldn't want my kids near it.

Sigh, looks like football games have always been cycle of feck-up by either of the competitor. I started with Winning Eleven then switched to FIFA around 2011/12 after series of horrible PES games. Then switched to PES again around 2016/17 after FIFA stopped innovating with each iteration barely feels like nothing's changed and PES started fixing a lot of problem from the previous 5 years. Now looks like back to FIFA after this abomination

PES21 is where it’s at in fairness

How’s the AI in PES21? Is it difficult to beat without it going into super script mode?

I don’t play online and every time I’ve bought PES after the PS2, I end up mauling the AI as soon as my team start to get some cohesion.

I mean I still lose regularly on the PS2 versions  but since then I’ve found the AI pretty easy to master.
