Love this! Excited to follow your progress. If you score any stunners get them in here too!

I’ve gone for a different approach this year. I started a new club “Utd Manchester” based around FC Utd of Manchester and made my own Utd home and away kit, whilst starting in league 2. My goal will be to take Utd Manchester all the way up through the leagues to truly usurp the Glazier rule. So far so good, I’m halfway through the season and top of League 2 level on points with Exeter but with a game in hand. My striker Johnathan Woods has scored a remarkable 18 goals in 23 games, a fantastic return for the veteran striker!

Keep me updated on your progress in the thread!
It'll probably be some slow progress. Finished the three matches in August and did full updates. Might just trim that down as I go on though because I think it'll get tedious to keep updating like that, plus a little much to have to read. Maybe shorter updates month by month as things progress.

Look forward to seeing what you manage with your created club too. Definitely interested in how that plays out and how you handle the promotion battle.

any career mode fans enjoying it compared to 21?
Yes it’s honestly miles better than 21. The ai can actually track runs this year and I feel like opponents actually have abit more variety in the way they play. I’m really enjoying it so far.

I've noticed some people complaining on forums about big teams ending up in the relegation zone after selling a key player. Do you see that happening or is the simulation fairly realistic?

I'm not even enjoying it compared to when I last played it in 2014. Still barebones and buggy as hell. Player of the Year not showing up in my career stats, and forget about getting a transfer because apparently the two time SPL top scorer with an 85 rating isn't of interest to anyone. I can't believe that bug is still in after seven years of people complaining about it!

Truthfully I’m not far enough in to have seen that (only halfway through my first season). I’m also only in league 2 so again I wouldn’t know but I’ll make a mental note to check the prem table later and see if it looks normal.

Struggled to find a formation and tactics that were clicking so far in FUT. Now trying out the 3-5-2 with custom tactics and it plays so much better than anything else I've used so far.

Finally managed to fix my lag problem. Embarrassingly it was my fault, there's something up with my WiFi just for FifaUT. Bought an Ethernet cable for a tenner and now it plays perfect. Won my first game in back. No more bs lag stopping me now.

Yeah I'm using 352 aswel, really great for attacking. Should be good enough as long as your good with defending, very easy to be punished in that formation if I feck up. But it's the only one that has plenty of attacking options and defends just fine.

Didn't qualify for Champs. I'd gone 23-2-2 in Rivals and was 3-1 up in the playoffs but lost the next in extra time and just outplayed in the next 2. Some players were just too good but others had a lot better teams. Disappointing as I was gold 2 every week last year and feel good this year too so champs this weekend must be high quality.

Is anyone else finding drilled crosses are way OP? I have players scoring all kinds of volleys from those, and the crosses themselves are way way too powerful?

I’m using 35 depth and 4 bars for player movement. Am I rat for using this? Honestly though I just stumbled on it and I’m absolutely; - 100 percent better at this game.

Played the 22 version for the first time today (on PS5) with a few Mates. I really like it. Very good adjustments to the last one and the game feels more real.

Especially to play with this new United side makes so much fun. Played 4-4-2 with Ronaldo and Rash uptop and Mason/Sancho on the wings. Brilliant stuff

Is he tradeable?
Yeah, but I’m going to use him for a bit first. See how I get on, but he’s going for about 400k, so I might look at trading him in if he’s not a game changer

Sell him mate. He’s not a 400k card IMO. Though, you’re probably okay using him. People are opening their Rivals, Champions packs.
Go on Futbin, check his highest selling value each night, then list him. I packed him as well but I flipped him for 420 when I could have gotten nearly 500.

Qualifying for rivals was easier than I expected. Went 6-3 albeit with one gifted win.

Well I’ve moaned about all the ultimate team chat but I did pack tradable Bruno last night and flipped him for £130k.

I’ve gone for a Serie A team: 4-3-3 attack

—Insigne———Immobile———Chiesa
—————————Dyballa———————
—————Rabiot———Tonali(IF)———
Hernandez—DeLigt—Skriniar—Cuadrado
————————Handanovic———————

At this stage I think I can compete for awhile with this team to be honest. Chiesa is unreal, can hit it left foot or right and pace to burn, he’s just exceptional. Also I absolutely love Rabiot, 6,4 and 76 pace the guy absolutely dominates the midfield.

Anyone else had any experience with Serie A teams and who else I could try and get to bolster the team?

Haha no. But I wanted to play around with the squad first, give everyone a chance to impress :wenger:

gonna update through September and then add the youth prospects to track their progress too and blood them in when they’re ready. Probably make some summer transfers after I move a few people out and some contract expire.

Pogba came asking for a renewal and got him all sorted.

Thanks mate. Just checked and he's showing as 478,000 now. I'm gonna play a few games with him today and then probably ship him out

Yeah his price fluctuates between 4 and 5 I think. Listen, if you really like him then keep him but personally I just sold him. I bought a la liga team with him. Packed Salah too and a few others so I’ve been quite lucky.

I'm also playing with a Serie A team and can really recommend Koulibaly and Kessie. Osimhen IF has also been really good for me.

That Ronaldo card absolutely useless. For his SBC price you could just buy his ones to watch card which costs the same. It’s a tradeable card which will get upgrades.

I can second Osimhen IF, he's amazing in a lot of ways. Though his passing was really frustrating for me until I learned to keep it very simple with him, so it depends how you utilize your striker.

I also like Barella IF a lot, I use him as b2b in a double pivot and he just carries/dibbles the ball so well and with a shadow he's also great at closing gaps defensively. He has gotten a bit pricey though.

I was always too cheap to buy him and now I'm playing a hybrid, but Kessie looks like a must have in a pure Serie A team. Especially if you're happy with Rabiot, as Kessie should just be a natural upgrade on him.

Koulibaly is my next purchase I just need to save a bit more Euro. Not sure if I’d take out Rabiot but could look at Kessie for Tonali’s spot but to be honest he feels great too.

I think the point is they don't want people to have an upgraded Ronaldo this early...

maybe do the flashback Pedro (if he’s still in SBCs) the guy is amazing for me. That 5* weak foot is a huge a huge plus.

Just checked and halfway through the first season the top 4 in the Prem is City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Utd all closely separated so looks perfectly normal. Will have to wait and see after afew more seasons.

I've just had the most weird game on FUT Champions. Felt like my L2 was pressed down the entire time (it wasn't). Players doing skill moves, refusing to sprint, missing shots by miles that they'd normally score. Ended up winning 4-3 anyway but it was infuriating.

Anything like this happened to anyone else?

Took the hit and traded it in, the scripting is worse than ever. Wasn't going to get it in the first place this year but did out of curiosity and boredom (I have a month to wait until I start my new job).

I'll get it next year for the world cup FUT mode (as really enjoyed the 18 version) but after that that is probably it for me with this game.

Thinking about building this, but I'd have to invest most of my capital. Benzema should be pretty great, right?

Trying to get this:

Using IF Dzeko, Sancho (out of position on the left) and Bellingham until I can afford Ole, Rashford and Bruno. Just bought Scholes and have Neuer, Shaw and that IF RB as untradable cards, though I might just grab Spinazzola and use him as a right back as he's right footed anyway. Would switch to a 4231 in game and use Bruno as the 10 of course. Kessie just looks like a beast so think he'll go well with Scholes.

Agreed @Paxi .. Kante is never a 400k+ card. I’ve got rid for 483,000. I now have 543,000 coins. Thinking about Salah for RM and KDB for CAM.

Is KDB worth the extra 50k more than Bruno? I’ve been steering away from Bruno because of the way the commentator calls him Bruno Fernanch

Benzema should be quite good but not sure he's worth it compared to, say, Fekir in that team.

Yeah Kante is nowhere near as good at Llorente, who is truly cracked - genuinely an icon-level player available for ~125k.

Re Bruno vs. KdB, for me it'd depend a bit where you want to play them. If you want someone to play further up in the final third, I'd say the 5 star weak foot is genuinely impactful. But if you want to play either next to a dedicated CDM in a deeper role, I don't think there's a meaningful difference between the two and I'd go for Bruno given the difference in price.
