I know a lot of people might give him shit for it because it's Phil Jones, but honestly the part where he rapped about the Queen was actually great. At least from a technical perspective, his rhyme scheme and interior swallowed vowel rhyming is something only high-calibre artists are capable of. Really impressive stuff (even if it was a bit uncomfortable to hear Phil go a bit vulgar with the "Cock-keen Queen with the hock-key team"). Interested to hear a full track from him.
The way the World has been the last 18 months I probably wouldn't have been surprised if this wasn't a piss take.

Any chance we see him next to Lindelof against Leicester? He’s fit (for now) I think and I don’t think Ole trusts Bailly all that much.

Phil Jones is going to come back as a DM into the squad and win us the champions league. You heard it here first.

As much as I think the Bailly-Lindelof partnership is a much tried and failed experiment, Jones has been out of action for so long that he'll probably need 2-3 reserve games at the very least just to get back with it.

We'll need to wrap Matic up in cotton wool between matches as he'll be indispensable without both Maguire and Varane. Let's see what Eric Ramsey has up his sleeve when it comes to defending set pieces.

No chance he plays the city game even with our defensive injury worries.

He's going nowhere. I don't think anyone will touch him without an airtight pay-as-you-play contract and even if it's a loan, we'll be paying 90% of the wage.

I could see a lowly PL club take a risk on him

Never leave us Phil, your comeback is on. No club is as calamitous as us in every position you play, there will be plenty of chances.

Insane how many managers he's outlasted by now

Looking at how long he keeps the streak going

If he's still somewhat competent, I'd keep him for squad depth. Both Varane and Bailly are injury prone.

He has no value, why are are people so keen to "get rid"?

If he's worse than the reserves I could see the point in releasing him. But unless you've seen him in training and in the closed door games, you can't know.

Just mentioned this in my post above, I've been saying this to my mates for ages. He didn't have a major injury and he's not played since Sheffield United away two years ago.

He's either got some serious issues of he's refusing to leave the club and his contract. If that's the case they may very well have told him to stay away for the remainder of his contract.
If he is healthy and training well I would consider playing him ahead of Maguire at this point. Phil has made some dreadful mistakes in the past, but he's never come close to having a run of calamitous games as long as Harry is currently experiencing.

We might see old phil back at it again though I thought we won't see him outside the league cup games but now seeing how varane is injured and baily will leave for afcon and we having shipped of tuanzabe we might need him to fill in at some point down the line

Ole should have been sacked the moment he gave a yes to extending this joker's deal.
It’s amazing how many people keep saying this nonsense.

he was given a contract when he was a playing member of the first team and also in the England squad. So are you going to release him then? I think not. Common sense. if he doesn’t suit the team anymore you then sell or loan.

he then got his career threatening injury and couldn’t train or play for 18 months which brings us up to current state where he’s trying to get peak fitness.
13 clubs have enquired about him for January! Whether he’s fit enough is a different note. Id be tempted to loan out to get games into him

Yes, many didnt want him then as he was already very poor and injury prone. Was the perfect time to move on from him. English NT selections are absolutely woeful and random for years, it is no one to one depiction of ones ability. There are better center backs than Mings, yet he gets called up every single time. No one in the world rated Jones apart from United and England. He was a laughing stock at that time.

Hyperbole. He wasn’t a “laughing stock”. Why do some of you lot always have to exaggerate.

my point is we could have sold him. It’s nonsense to think we should just release him for free.

Just embarrassing.

Doubt it means much, he travelled to the european game and couldn't play as not registered.

Probably just need him around to clean boots at this point.

Your post is embarrassing

Wow, my initial response was a smile and an "amazing. good for you, Phil" and then I read your disaster of a post :(
