Ok, so you have nothing that will help today
Eh the second two suggestion would help today and Ole says the coaching is top class so we can only take his word for it.

He needs to try something new.

Going back to McFred in the same setup who have also failed multiple time this season is not new.

Anyway I think we win tonight no matter the lineup really.

Liverpools the game he will love or die by. Exciting and nerve wracking couple of weeks to come in

I wish McFred were one player. Like Kante.
I wish we had a CDM anywhere near Kantes caliber. We could play 1 midfielder and 6 attackers and he'd still wash all spectators' cars before they headed home and thanked them all in person for coming.

Am I missing something? I thought OGS said something had to change. I see mcfred with Fernandes in front of them. Only difference I can see is rashford starting.

    Red Card for Casemiro!
Donny's game against West Ham and Young Boys was miles better than anything McFred has produced this season. He gets no gametime. It's become clear that the 4-2-3-1 is simply not working. So what does Ole do? Persist with it. Ronaldo is still stuck up top for a poacher role that he never once played in his life. My problem is that Ole seems deathly afraid of trying something new because he is afraid that it will be the end of him. But it is precisely this type of fear that makes him a mediocre manager. In this he is eerily similar to Moyes who'd do the exact same thing Ole does. They're both cut from the same cloth "make it difficult for the other team to beat us" types.
It is baffling that our all possible combinations of a midfield two using Pogba/Matic/Fred/McT have failed this season, but Ole still won't give a technically solid player like Donny a run of games. Especially after he's done well the one time we've tried him there. Just shows a lack of ability.

Bruno playing like a second striker means we’re outnumbered in midfield in every game. So we need two runners to cover, thus McFred, who are both capable runners.

Blame for the winner? Matic's man wasn't marked, it wasn't Donny's fault. But even if we presume it was, he still showcased a miles better game than anything Fred has produced. I am on a wind up because I want this team to win and actually do something but you, who are content with just losing games with McFred time and time again... Not only losing but getting battered most of the time and outplayed by mediocre players is somehow the sensible one. Okay, let's see what McFred does this time.

As for me, seriously doubt we're gonna win, and if we do, it ain't gonna be pretty. Probably a Wolves-tier win with Ronaldo goal from 1 shot on target. At least that will save good ol' Ole until we get spanked by Liverpool.
To clarify, I am not a fan of McFred although I understand why they are playing tonight and I am more than ready for a new Manager but the myth of Donny's amazing game against West Ham grows larger by the week. He failed to track his runner for the goal and just stopped on the edge of the box so he is at least partially if not wholly to blame and apart from that he was neat, tidy and anonymous against West Ham's reserves and yet people go on about it like he schooled prime Zidane in the midfield.

The change he wants to see is McTominay finding form again. It's literally our last year's team with an upgrade on Martial up top. The same team that helped Ole scrape results. Whenever he tries to do something different, it never comes off, including all switches to 3-5-2 and 4-3-3 that end up backfiring. His comment that something has to give is just him showing the outside the result wasn't acceptable.

McFred didn't start the last one, hence that is a change!

Pogba being dropped is a big change in fairness

This will be the team Ole picks pretty much every game from now until Watford. All his go-to guys.

I made a list of our season so far based on Midfield pair. There is limited data buts it's too early to say McFred is the best pair.

Also even if they are the best the pairing is very poor all the same. I suspect our issues more stem from coaching In all cases

    McFred W2 D1 L1 - 50% Win rate
    Win vs Leeds
    Win vs West Ham
    Losss Vs Villa
    Draw Vs Everton

    Fred Pogba W1 D0 L0 - 100% Win rate
    Win Vs Wolves

    Matic Pogba W1 D0 L0 - 50% Win rate
    Win Vs Wolves
    Loss Leicester

    Pogba Sccott W1 D0 L0 - 100% Win Rate
    Win Vs Villarreal

    Matic Fred W0 D1 L0 - 0% Win Rate
    Draw vs Southampton

    Fred Donny W0 D0 L1 - 0% Win Rate
    Loss vs Young Boys

    Matic Donny W0 D0 L1 - 0% Win Rate
    Loss Vs West Ham

Donny in that midfield did something McFred never do - move into small pockets of space to receive the ball, and quiety pass it on with an angle that beats the press. They don't need to be Hollywood passes or going forward everytime - it just needs to keep moving. Dictating the tempo, keeping it ticking, connecting midfield and attack.

So Bruno is the problem, he can't be allowed to play second striker considering every midfield that plays with him suffer for it.

I think it’s a decent team but my only fear is Maguire no way he can overcome Saturday’s performance in 4 days.

I’m tempted to criticize the lineup, but can’t blame Ole at this point, his job is on the line and he put out a team he trusts the most.. I blame the higher ups for not pulling the trigger.. with that being said, let’s smash Atalanta and get some momentum for the Liverpool match, I’m sick of us losing and playing bad.

McFred and Matic could get injured but Ole would still ignore Donny and play Dean Henderson in midfield or request Carrick come out of retirement.

We were absolutely awful against Wolves and Villarreal and would have lost both if either could finish.
