Don’t hate Atletico nearly as much as united fans hate Liverpool. Selling Suarez to a rival wasn’t ideal but we weren’t winning the league anyway last year. I’m happy he’s doing well, he deserved a better send off from Barca.

So in a vacuum, yes, I’m glad he prevented Real Madrid from winning the title
Do you think you’d have won the title with him last year?

as for the Depay comments…a bit rash. He’s hardly the problem there. The team is brutal

They went close and the biggest issue was finishing. So yeah, they could have won the league with him

I think I probably agree. I don’t think he would have been as good as he was at Atleti, he wouldn’t have the same point to prove, but he’d still be enough to get them over the line in my opinion, and especially when messi went into overdrive in the new year, coupled with Suarez that could have been really something. Oh well

What Depay comments?

And I genuinely don’t think we’d win the league last year even with Suarez if I’m being honest. We had the most goals scored and highest goal differential in La Liga last year and still finished third. Our defense has always been our biggest problem.

Suarez with ten workhorses behind him at Atletico is perfect for him.

No, we had 85 goals last year, far more than any other team. Our issue was our horrific defense. We were also quite poor against both Madrid’s. Suarez doesn’t help us win the league because him and Messi not tracking back was suicide as we were always horrible defensively. We conceded a lot more goals than you or Atletico did last year.

Complete shambles. They are going to get kicked out of the group soon, still top 4 would be a successful season for them. Doable.

International break came at the right time for them. I believe aguero and dembele come back now.

Ancelotti with a Camavinga-Kroos-Modric midfield. Let's see how it goes.

Not sure if Valverde or Lucas Vazquez as RB

I don’t want to repeat myself over and over but I’m convinced Ancelotti isn’t happy with our terrible planning.

-No reliable fullbacks.

-Short number of players in midfield.

-No decent option to play as RW.

-And many other issues.

This forces Ancelotti to move players and make different changes, that in return, confuses the players who look lost on the pitch and are often times being caught out of position. The way he's using Camavinga and Valverde is just wasting them. Vini is often marked by two or three players because teams already know he is the only one who can create some danger.

Atletico looks like the favorite to win it again, RM is also terrible.

Chance for La Real to go top.

Just seen Getafe team and it dosen't look bad, likes of Djene and Alena in there. I know they've massively overachieved last few seasons but losing 7 straight at start of the season....how the hell does Michel keep getting jobs? Was a disaster at Malaga a few years ago so seems type who just gets managerial gigs due to being a famous player. Was hopeless at Sevilla a few years ago aswell.

2 managerial sacking today.
Getafe have fired Michel
Levante have fired Paco Lopez

Getafe got their first point of the season against Sociedad, having lost their opening 7 games. Michel was only appointed in the summer
Levante are winless from their first 8 games and are in the relegation zone.

Not too sure. They're a bit shit this year too.
Once they decide on their best attacking options they should hit a bit of form. Griezmann and Suarez might not be the option that’s best after all. Felix, Lemar and Suarez were dangerous in the last game and could be something to work towards going forward.

Fati, gavi and Pedri are the only saving grace in this awful season/situation for Barca

Defender gets the ball pretty cleanly, never a penalty. Back pass maybe.

Football is such a joke sport these days.

Never a penalty just a horrible call
It's a clear and obvious error by the referee, so where is VAR?

Last games I've watched Chelsea v Southampton, VAR howler, Spain v France, Mbappe scores offside goal (because of interpretation of deliberately playing the ball v deflecting it), Chelsea game yesterday, now this game...

3/4 last games have some horrendous and total unjust refereeing or VAR mistake in them. VAR has made football worse and almost unwatchable, you expect there to be justice and fair decisions and it doesn't happen at all. Was way easier to accept bad calls before they were meant to be corrected.

VAR in la liga was decent originally, all seems to have gone to pot since R Madrid got about 10 penalties in the run in at the end of season before last to win the title....

Ex-City duo Navas - Fernando combine for Sevilla's 5th goal... which is quite crazy because I genuinely thought they were absolute crap FIVE years ago and now they could lead the Liga. And the same could be said about Dzeko and Kolarov in Italy. Only shows how much more demanding PL is now and has been for some time now.

In true American fashion, ESPN has put this game behind their paywalled ESPN+ package. Because so much is going on in American sports at 10:30am Eastern.
