If i am the board i will definitely wait till Dec 2 to make a decision. Give OGS 4 more league games against Spurs, Chelsea, City and Arsenal to prove he can turn things around. Also spare the new coach from these fixtures.
Nice try

Something like this I guess:

..............................De Gea........................

................Varane...Maguire...Lindelof...........

Bissaka................................................Shaw
.................McTominay..Fred..........................

.................Bruno..............Pogba.................
............................Ronaldo.............................

............................GK...........................
..............CD.........CD..........CD..............

RWB...........................................LWB
................DCM.......DCM..................

................AM.........AM.....................
.......................ST..................................
I think:

...................................DDG
............. AWB......... MAGUIRE...... VARANE
DALOT...........................................................SHAW
...................................FRED
................... DONNY................ POGBA
.................. RONALDO............CAVANI

Dont think he will get the job though as that would mean curtains for Rashford, Greenwood and Sancho, including either of Bruno or Pogba.

No. Why are we not going all in for Ten hag
Why are we not going all in for Brendan Rodgers?
Why are we not going all in for literally every manager in the world?
Antonio Conte is available and happy to take the job. They don't get much better than him.

The point I'm making is, despite Juve being on it's last legs he "still needed his players" to compete. So what happens when he has to face off against Prime Pep, Prime Klopp and Prime Tuchel. What happens when our board won't sign 100% of the players he demands?

This is a recipe for disaster waiting to happen. Just because Ole is bad doesn't mean we have to jump at the first available manager.
You're talking about him as if he didn't go to Chelsea the season after they finished 10th and take them to 30 wins in the season with both Pep and Klopp in the league. As for Inter, they had been treading water since they won the treble. He goes in, gets them 1 point behind Juve who by that point had 8 in a row and then won the league the year after. Even at Juve, season before he got there he took them from 7th to champions.

I get Conte isn't everyone's cup of tea due to his attitude but trying to pick holes in the resume is pushing it a bit. Only real blip for him was his second season at Chelsea but for most of that season it seemed like he was daring the club to sack him.

Conte will play 343 with the players MU has. The issue is where Bruno will play in his system.

He's already beaten Guardiola and Klopp to the title. And they also needed their players, to the tune of hundreds of millions each (just in full-backs, in Guardiola's case) to overtake him the next season.

Also worth pointing out that Chelsea had finished below both City and Liverpool the season before Conte and Guardiola came to England- the biggest reason for that, of course, was the toxic c*** that we just happened to appoint the same summer (for all the people trying to draw parallels between the two in terms of their managerial level when hired/linked with United)

That team.

Boring and slow as shit, but we'll be defensively sound (right up until someone lobs the ball 5 yards behind either of our fullbacks to anyone with pace) so it's fine.

Arsenal and Man United are different, we don’t accept mediocrity easily like how arsenal can easily accept relegation battle which result in finishing 8th last season. Spurs is the most ideal first match to have for any manager in my opinion.

What formation does Tuchel play?

Why are people so against Conte because of the formation he plays when Tuchel plays exactly the same way.

I wonder how many people would be against hiring Tuchel because of his formation

I can see only 2 or 4 points out of these 4 fixtures. I was almost 90% sure we will get trash by Liverpool in the last fixture. After these 4 games, we will be drifting to mid table position. I don't see any point having Ole as a manager. The team might be energized with a new coach. Frankly speaking, it is demoralising to team that nothing is working with Ole. They know we are going nowhere with him as a manager.

10th? You'd think he took over Everton or Aston Villa. That squad won the PL the year prior, don't let Mourinho's antics cloud your judgement. And while Pep and Klopp were in the league at the time, they were both building their squads. Once they got up and running they ran away with the league.

Remind me again, how did he fare in his second season at Chelsea? 4th, behind the past it Mourinho as well. How's his European record?

I can go on and on. But he reminds me of Ole in a lot of ways. Simply because all of his achievements are in the lack of a serious contender. Take Ole, finished 2nd and 3rd. Sound impressive, but when you look deeper it's because all the top dogs have had their issues. Once they got their shit together, he simply got exposed.

Now, I'm not comparing Conte to Ole. Not in the slightest. But the similarities are there, down to the European record as well.

By how people are banging on about him, you'd think we're getting prime Jose who actually had to contend with Wenger, Sir Alex and Pep in Europe and Spain and still come out on top in many of those encounters.

Not worth it in my book, not in the slightest.

Tuchel just won the CL with a very similar set up

Sacking Ole 10 games into the season though. Thats brutal, even for Chelsea's standards. But it's the ruthlessness from the board most of you have been asking for.
I think the tailend of last season is playing its part too, the season is still very much salvageable and this is a team with most of its best players in their primes or close to entering them, there's little time to waste now.

It’s been brought up and the counter was that some of Mourinho’s teams pre-United were high scoring too. I don’t think it’s a good counterpoint myself for many reasons but I’m too lazy to argue most of the time.
Happy to listen.

Was looking at Jose's xG his title winning season and it was pretty high (2nd in the league). Conte on the other hand came 5th in xG but still won the title. Seems like Jose's side was generally creating the better chances through out 14/15 than Conte's 16/17 side.

Conte's Inter side were pretty high scoring though.

All the promise of Rashford, Greenwood, Sancho and others will go down the drain when at least two of them are sat on the bench every week.
Do you support the team or a player who could feck off at the end of their contract? Do you want some team trophies or a player scoring goal of the month? Sancho doesnt get picked anyway so whats different.
If Conte comes he could change the way they play or the tactics to suit them.
I just want a manager who at least has shown they can win trophies in the big leagues, whether thats Conte or someone else. Ole is never going to be that manager.

Interesting all the predicted line ups have DDG in goal. When has Conte previously stuck with a goalkeeper who never leaves his line?

No way on Earth AWB would start under Conte as CB. That is just not gonna happen.

I also think that both Ronaldo and Cavani won’t start. One of them, likely Ronaldo, with one of the fast strikers, either Rashford or Greenwood.

Pogba or Bruno will start. There is some possibility of both of them, with Bruno playing much deeper, but I guess it is more unlikely.

Bin our two best young players and supposedly one of the best young talents in Europe, for a front 2 with a combined age of 70. Frankly, Conte can't come in soon enough.

Not saying they were Villa standard but the fact of the matter was that they did finish in that position. Jose did have a lot to do with that but they weren't exactly many people's picks to win the league. In fact a lot of people had them struggling to finish 4th.

Kloop was what 2 years in by then and City had the most expensive team and spent again for Pep. Conte went in to a worse position than both of them.

5th actually, but then as I said, he did look like he was trying to get the sack most of that season.

As for his European record, fair enough it is poor but his domestic is fantastic no matter how you want to slice it.

Personally, I am not saying Conte is amazing at everything. However, his record is amazing when you look at it. Five titles in seven league seasons across two leagues is up their with the best.

Surely Conte can adapt his tactical approach to the players we have or play them in some kind of purposeful rotation? Why do we have to bin anyone? Really don’t get this

He might adapt his tactics or adapt them, it doesnt neccessarily mean they will be permanently benched. Sancho isnt getting a look in now and as you said the age of Ronaldo means he wont play every game and Cavani is apparently looking to leave in Jan and definitely off in the summer.

Agree. AWB is too poor going forward to be a Rwb and his positioning has caused issues for you guys in the past so I don’t see him being ready for CB.

Of all the players to miss out, he would definitely be at the top. He just isn’t good enough. Remember Conte likes attacking WBs, he played Moses there and brought in Alonso.

If he did join you and go 3 at the back I could see him going out on loan.

Of the players who could thrive, potentially Donny if he went 3-5-2.

Conte bought all our cast offs we wanted shot of. Safe to say I don't think the fans and him will share the same opinions on players and style of play.
Then he proceeded to win the SerieA title with Young, Sanchez, and Darmian. Our current manager can't set up a team that signed one of the top defenders in Europe (albeit injured atm), one of the best up-and-coming creative wingers, and Mr. CL.

I agree with this. If he's going to thrive anywhere it's with four other players there to do his job for him, whilst he hides from the ball, instead of one or two.
Ouch clearly not willing to give Donny a chance under a new manager then

So far all we've seen is links with Conte. These rumours are not coming out of nowhere so I assume when Ole goes Antonio will most likely come in. How that ends up who the hell knows but it's bitterly disapointing we arn't hearing a single link about Ten Hag.

There is definitely scope for our wide players in Rashford and Sancho to be playing in a 3 at the back system.

Conte played a 3-4-3 at Chelsea, with Hazard and Pedro. I also believe Sancho played in a 3-4-3 numerous times for Dortmund, so familiarity should be too big of an issue.

Also, the England players in our squad are quite adept to playing in a 3 at the back system as shown from their time with the national team. Kinda wish we bought Trippier now, he really would’ve been a great option at RB or as a wingback.

Certain that's because we aren't able to get him until the summer and Utd don't want an interim for the next 7 months
