Kind of makes sense to picture José at a steering wheel, a big one like from a bus.

I know mate.

Look, I know it's not a logical view but I can't help it. I love the guy and I love the club. He's done some fantastic things here in very difficult circumstances and despite what the "£400m spent" brigade say, he's not had the sort of backing his predecessors had. Seeing some of the puerile stuff I've seen here and on twitter regarding him and the job he's done, is disheartening. If he can't even get the credit for it from the supposed fans of the club, in what world will he get it from the wider media? The United in our name used to mean something, but it doesn't at the moment.

I can only hope he either turns it around and gets the naysayers back onside (unlikely, bordering on impossible) or the next man can unify the fanbase and satisfy the agitators.
What the feck does this even mean? Despite that he spent more than any of our previous managers, more than any other manager in football during the same time, and his assembled team having the highest wage bill in the sport, he somehow has not have the sort of backing the other managers had?

Seriously, get out of Ole’s arse, read again what you wrote and then realize the bullshit you said.

Ask any matchgoer. I remember hearing it for the first time at Bournemouth away in a 12:45 kick off (where we won 2-1, Rashford getting the winner) and then at City away later that season where I think we lost 3-1 - the whole away end was singing it in the last 20 or so minutes. I'm not sure if anyone here was there that day but I'm sure they will be able to corroborate if so.

So Bayern got thrashed 5-0 tonight and crashed out of the cup.

Are we sacking our manager? Of course not.

One game means nothing.
Even fans of clubs from outside England want him to stay now just to keep laughing at us.

If most of the world tells you you're wrong, and you yourself admit that "you can't help it" but still have hope for Solskjaer because of your love towards him, maybe it's time to accept defeat.

He's done fine, but most people could see over the last three years it wasn't sustainable and not good enough for the top level.

I don't think supporting a football team is supposed to be logical. Hell what logic is there in seeing 22 guys in shorts kicking a ball about and getting worked up over it? Football is all about emotion so I'd never criticize anyone for being emotional about the game.

I have always supported all our managers and hoped till the end they can turn it around and it's especially true for Ole as he's someone I desperately wanted to see succeed at the club. If I was in charge of the decision making process, I would have sacked him on Monday because I don't see how he comes back from that loss to that scum. But now he's still here so I'll hope we win this weekend and the game after and so on and I'll hope he can turn it around. It's virtually impossible, but that's the beauty of this sport, the impossible tends to happen from time to time.

Feel free to tear me a new one for this post, but I just wanted to state that I am one of those who have voted to still give him time. So it's not "just oppo fans".
Sunday was a horrible day. Something has got to give, and the players need to take a fair bit of responsibility as well.

But there's nobody available right now that I personally think could do a better job in the long term, so I see no reason to change the manager just for change's sake.
I'm in the same boat mate. My hope is waning admittedly, but I desperately want him to turn it around.

He's made colossal mistakes this year which could ultimately cost him his job but if he can rectify them it's not too late and the situation is not unfixable.

The key thing is he has to do what he did before and learn from those mistakes. In his last two seasons, he did. This season though, up til now at least, he hasn't.
I respect your resolve guys.

If he’s any chance of turning this around he needs to revert to counterattack, play the best players to suit that system and the players who will put a shift in for him.

If he makes it to January beg the club to go in for the best DM we can get in January to sure up that midfield. Take it from there.

That would be my plan if I’m Ole right now. As well as scripting the best speech of any manager since Al Pacino in Any Given Sunday to try and get these players to not completely down tools on him.

If you're being serious, you guys are under a new manager but still in 1st place, 1st place in your CL group and are coming off a season having won 4 trophies.
Damn!
Great answer.
Completely shut down that line of thinking.

We're the ones who create cringey chants and slogans for managers who are out of their depth and have never won anything. We've done it with two managers now and it invites mockery and memes.
I don't agree that its cringy, it was probably my favourite chant to sing along to for a long while - before all this happened  . How on earth is it cringy to sing about us being the greatest of english football? Its got a really nice cadence about it.

Now that it's been co-opted by the Liverpool fans to mock us, its obviously painful to hear. Its always going to be linked with the 5-0 unfortunately and sung endlessly probably even after Ole leaves the club. However, this being football, if we do get Conte in, I can hear it being sung again by us, but only if he achieves success/smashes the Scousers.

I really don't understand the board's thinking.

If they have decided that he will be replaced regardless of the result then why are we keeping him for the Spurs game? He will have all sorts of questions to answer from the media and if they really do like him 'personally' then why put him through that misery for just one game specially if the players don't believe in him anyway?

My guess is that they are still backing him and will keep him on if we get some positive results in the next two games.

How the feck do you work that out?
Because the of that £400m (it's not £400m btw, more like £345m), £130m+ was recouped by sales.

Lukaku paid for Maguire. Smalling being sold paid for Telles (in a window where we didn't even purchase a single first team player btw).

The only window Ole has had which compares to either of LvG and Jose's windows was his last one, where he was buying outright quality for the first team and not having to worry about outgoings to pay for it.

Its quite easy

No one saw this coming. We've had some up and down matches, but nothing coming close to the complete lack of form over the last couple weeks. The board was not prepared for this, they genuinely believed that the steady progress shown the last 2 years would continue with the new squad additions.

Not all of them are sold on Conte. He's a high maintenance guy that is on the other end of the continuity that they are trying to build. Everything the club has done so far would be undone overnight replaced with a guy who gets pissed off if the sun rises late.

There are no other good options so they are bidding their time to find a suitable replacement.

Ole has a lot of stock in the club following the efforts made since his appointment, despite some fans opinions that he's been a disaster in every regard.

So he's being given a last chance to steady the ship, or it is truly time to clean out the desk at Carrington.

If he gets positive results, of course he will continue. If you don't want the club to be successful under Ole you're not actually a fan of the club.

Smalling… what a loss. And he went the Summer after Ole happily fecked him off on loan for a year.

The Lukaku things a red herring, he was a player Ole clearly didn’t fancy from day one, so how are you suddenly writing off the entire Maguire transfer due to Ole selling a player he didn’t really fancy?

Jose’s last window didn’t get him a ”first team player” either if DvB or fecking Cavani doesn’t count.

Still chatting utter drivel I see. To the very end.

Fans want the club to be successful period, and they put zero stock in marrying that to an individual.

Would it have been sweeter if Sir Matt had been a United player rather than a former City & Liverpool player? Or if Fergie had come as a former legend rather than an Aberdeen legend? Would it have been sweeter if Eric hadn’t helped Leeds pip us to a league title the season before we finally got our hands on one, or would the treble have been sweeter had it been a class of 92 lad scoring the goals rather than some wide boy from Landan and a Norwegian lad?

Is it any less sweet for Liverpool watching Klopp take them to titles rather than Kenny D?

This nostalgia and longing to cling on to something from Fergie’s time is fecking nauseating. Any new manager can create his own nostalgia, that’s the beauty of it.

Why isn't he sacked yet? What the feck are they waiting for?
According to reports, the board won't pull the trigger until the poll in the Redcafe Ole Sack Watch thread reaches 90% in favour of a change.

Seems legit.

They apparently have been caught stunned by Ole’s inability to coach at a high PL level…

Odd given the fact they plucked him from Molde where he was employed after relegating Cardiff.

You have to think that they genuinely believed they’d unearthed some kind of hidden gem manager in Ole, hence giving him an extension for no reason whatsoever and also not having any kind of contingency plan.

You have to wonder if an awful lot of coke gets done by the people in charge of Man Utd - because it’s genuinely difficult to imagine a group of mentally capable businessmen arriving at such bizarre, seemingly delusional decisions.

Liverpool lost six consecutive games at Anfield just this year, so even the best teams can suffer an inexplicable run of results. However they had major injury problems, were playing behind closed doors and weren't being tactically outclassed ( IIRC other than the Villa 7-2 game - they weren't really being cut open by average sides even with 13 defenders out injured all at once - just were failing to score and getting caught out. Thats lack of form.

What we're going through isn't lack of form, its just Championship level coaching and management being exposed again and again.

Doesn’t seem like you care about much, although you’ll obviously say you care about the club to justify being a nasty ****. I’ve been Ole out for ages so I’m not defending anything but i just can’t understand why anyone would take it so personally against him and say they have no compassion for a decent bloke taking shit from all sides for simply trying his best and failing. People like you, posting horrible sh*t just come across as fecking morons. Just no need for it. Have you never tried and failed at anything in your life?
Nothing to do with compassion. That stopped when he made United fans leave after 60 minutes at home against Liverpool.

I don't take any pleasure in him getting sacked, so you trying to lie about that is a bit funny. I, however, retain my compassion for a lot less fortunate people in this world and certainly not for someone who is out of his depth and clings for dear life.

Have you ever seen a United manager who's so loved by our rivals ? They are all fighting for him to stay.

The funny part is the fans from Leeds and westham singing Ole at the Wheel, have managed to get dicked by Ole at the wheel this season........shows how daft football banter is at times...........imagine getting embarrassed by this

WHU were one pen away from getting a point from us then knocked us out from the League Cup. Dicked indeed.

The minority who still defend Ole are actually as deluded as him.

According to Mark Ogden on Fabrizio Romano's youtube video they're waiting for Tottenham game to decide his future. Also the club didn't have a plan in place for this situation so they're trying to buy themselves some time on a decision regarding Ole. No alternative manager lined up. Get the feeling that winning against Tottenham and results after against City might save his job.

Any way you look at the above, it looks bad on the club. There's no direction, we are a rudderless club as many have said before and this is true.
Can't believe the next 2 or 3 wins and Ole's job is safe.

They are a non-issue; basically like flat-earthers. Don't argue with them, just pat them on the heads and say "yeah..."

Not referring to you Flexdegea.
