Latest Netflix Horror-drama from Mike Flanagan (Haunting of Hill House, Haunting of Bly Manor).

Watch it feckers, it's great.

I found it a fair bit weaker than the 2 previous ones hes done. Well weaker than the first, second wasn't as strong. Something closer to a series of American Horror Story and a bit schlocky.
The attitude and approach to religion felt a bit alien to me. The kind of thing you'd expect in 1970's Ireland and is quite dead at this point. Lots of sections I just found boring because of the focus on christianity. It was an interesting idea and most of the characters were quite likable though. Its enjoyable and easy enough to watch, I wouldn't be in a rush to binge it right now though.

Officially the best poker player on RAWK.
It was ok, but I preferred both Hill House and Bly manor. I think the latter of those gets a bad rep for the ending, but I personally liked the story it actually told disguised as another.

Midnight Mass reminded me of a Stephen King novel. Interesting idea, strong characters, shite ending that boils down to something completely mundane whilst being entirely obvious how it would end throughout. Worth a watch, but nothing spectacular. Some great acting though, bar the main son and the old lady.

Wow, couldn't disagree more with most of the reviews here. Highly recommend to anyone who loves King - this is really similar to a kind of obscure mini-series he did called Storm of the Century which is also pretty good.

Some of the writing and acting in this is absolute top-level TV, would expect some recognition come award-season.

Probably a bit long to squeeze in before Halloween, but don't think you can do a lot better than this for recently released shows.

I thought it was really good. Had its flaws (scenes being needlessly long /dragged out chief along them)... But in terms of setting an atmosphere and creating a world through which to tell a story I thought it did a great job. The acting was also very very strong across the board.

It's definitely weaker then Hill House (but then that's one of the best series of TV Netflix has ever created in my opinion) but it's leaps and bounds better then Bly Manor.... I mean, its not even close

I think i just found how centered and fixated it was on catholicism a chore to watch. I prefered Bly Manor and its not close for me.

I been banging on about this series for years but nobody has ever heard of it... I was starting to think I imagined it for a minute there

I'm really enjoying midnight mass. The acting, writing, dialogue, characters and atmosphere are great. I got two eps to go. Pissed that my wife guessed the twist withing 2 episodes... She always bloody guesses films so easily, should be a detective!

Just finished. Absolutely adored this. Maybe not for everyone, as the comments here show, but this was right up my alley.

Totally different type of series than the Hauntings, loved it. More a philosophical horror. Some of the writing was immense. I loved the ending where she gives the explanation of death. The young lass confronting her wrongdoer was the best 10 minutes of anything I've seen in a long while.

It's excellent imo, the bleakness, the scenery , the acting and the build up with a great ending.
