This guy is untouchable, just like Solskjaer. It's almost like he's bigger than the club, absolutely has to be shoehorned into the team.

Nah, I think this is Ole kinda saying, "I have a 200m backline, but they're still shit" which actually shows how shit he is for being a bad coach.

I'm not mad at Ole for picking him, I'm mad at Ole for not fecking coaching a guy that literally hides behind opposition players to not receive passes. This is what fecking baffles me.

He's OIe's personification as a manager. Out of his depth, yet still here.

I'm hoping for a big game for him today.

3 at the back should make him realise that he can go and do his thing a bit more.

Needs to drive with the ball more regularly like he did, good game.

Box-to-box midfielder asked to stop playing as a deep DM and play as a box-to-box and he instantly plays better.

He had a very good game. He needs to show that isn’t an anomaly and can be the norm.

It's games like today that show what he could be. Really hope he finds some consistency because he has it in him to dominate midfields.

Good today, much more intensity to press players and be combative for the ball constantly, stepped up and carried the ball forward nicely as well at times.

When he plays like that I have no issue with him.

Manchester Utd never lose, just run out of time
Easily his best match this season, and his first half was one of his best ever midfield showings IMO. He's had better individual performances before, but in this match he was doing all the things that he normally struggles with. Namely making himself available to receive the ball all the time, and then distributing it quite well when he did get it.

We had Action Man McTominay back tonight.
Who would have thought he's not a 6 :houllier::houllier:

Impressive performance. Unfortunate that Ronaldo was marginally offside early in the 2nd half after Scott sent him through on goal. Crisp passes out to Shaw on the left. Willing to carry the ball out of our defensive third, inviting the foul, to relieve pressure.

Amusingly he played as the deep dm up until matic come on today. But either way good performance today, midfield shape helped today with having three actually playing in midfield rather than just 2 and a half.

Yeah he was deepest but completely different role. Look at the home game vs Villarreal where the CBs would split and he would literally be in line with them

Best performance of the season from Scott. For the umpteenth time we see that he's much happier in a counter attacking setup than in a team that tries to press high. There's a lesson here for Ole: Pick a style and system that suits the strengths of your players.

A few loose touches but very good on the whole. I wish he would trust himself a bit more and make the pass when it’s open for a split second. His passes are usually crisp so not sure why he fails to pull the trigger at times.

Always enjoy watching him break the lines with a short burst past his marker. That’s when he’s at his best.

Naturally because of the insurance of having three cbs behind meant he could be more aggressive in trying to win the ball back in midfield, rather than just plugging gaps in defence.

He was decent enough against villareal aswell, our problem in that game were more the other 2 in midifled being very indisciplined and a lack of patience in our build up play (plus the shambles that was dalot that night) today the other two were much more disciplined and patient in our build up.

May be harsh but Scott performances mirror Ole’s reign here. He has good performances now and then but I feel overall he isn’t good enough in the long run.
That aside I thought he was very good today

His best performance since the EL final, like a poor mans Barella in Conte's Inter, less defensive responsibility is always beneficial to McTominay, the extra CB benefited him more than anyone else in the back 7.

Good performance today, although I would still prefer to see him in a more advanced box to box role. He does his best but he isn’t a natural fit as a holding #6.

The 3 at the back gave him more license to play his natural game. It’s probably the best we can do with what we have to look solid and defend well right now.
