To be fair, I prefer Neville's approach of basically fronting up and just saying he never calls for managers to be sacked - it's better than the alternatives where pundits just give bad spin for their mates without being honest about it.

However, I'm not sure how exactly noble it is as a position. Neville regularly says players aren't good enough, what's the difference? You're basically asking for players to lose their jobs, why does it matter for managers? At the top level which Neville gives his opinion on, these people are paid very well and always get another job (well, coincidentally I'm not sure Ole would, but still...) I'm sure it's damn hard when it goes wrong for you, but that's top level football management.

It does get a bit frustrating watching these pundits just rallying round their mates. They get paid a lot of money for their 'insight' (which nowadays isn't really important, does Graeme Souness really have genuine insight into the game ahead of much less prestigious but more studied and eloquent others?), and all it seems to boil down to is them going soft on their mates.

Carragher keeps calling him out on it.

Neville (and carragher) are both great when they don't cover their own team
Carragher has been really really good at covering United

Funny how he has one opinion about players and one for managers. Some of our world class signings flopped but Gary is still saying that we need Kane, Rice, (Varane, Sancho). By his logic we should be buying players from Cardiff, Preston or Burnley. No?

Do feel like his tone is very resigned to the fact that Ole is not up to it and won't last, despite the contradictory one-liners.

Takes some funny stances but would take these with a pinch of salt rather than hating on him.

He is an idiot, he should retire as a pundit if he cant do his job properly. It is not that he doesnt say sack Ole, his arguments are just ridiculous. Then say nothing instead of going around in circles and talking shite.

Well he’s as biased as they come when it comes to Liverpool. But glad he’s calling Neville out on this
Yes, Carra is way over the top with Lpool. Whatever subject they talk about, and i mean ANY, he references Lpool somehow haha . He also claims Lpool players are the "best in the world" at their top trait. ie. VVD is the best passer of a ball in the world for a cb. TAA is the best crosser in the world for a RB. Salah is the best in the world fullstop. [may have a case on that one, but not for me]. Alisson is the best in the world at something. etc etc rinse and repeat

But re. Utd he is right. Neville was talking absolute rubbish with his Jose and LVG comparison.

I have no problem with mates defending mates.

I would.

But i would limit my defence to probably a bit more leeway, and use of less harsh words, probably trying to find aspect that could have defended my mate.

But at this point I'll be calling spade a spade, I'll even go so far to say it pains me to say this but he's out of his depth.

They're making a mockery of integrity and love of the club.

Loved the sky sports host finally dismantling his LVG/Mourinho drivel, something that should have been done weeks ago.

He dodged that question like a ninja. Totally shown up for the self-aware blinkered hack that he is.

That'd be some final act for Ed, he could give Fred a new 6 year deal before he goes aswell, then everyone will think he's really great.

For his own sake, Gary needs to get someone else to do the thinking for him on this subject from now on.

There are quite a few pundits who are worth listening to, with the notable exception of when they talk about the clubs that they support, and I've increasingly thought that Neville fits that category.

I'm happy to listen to him talk about Arsenal, Spurs etc. but listening to him talk about Utd has been increasingly painful.

This grates with me too. He's happy to throw players under the bus and call for them to be replaced, he's also happy to point out coaching deficiencies in our setup, but the man responsible for picking and coaching those players gets a free pass.

I'd love someone in the studio to ask why Salford have gone through 5 managers some he became part of the ownership. Are those decisions being made without him?

He's making up scenarios in his mind now. Man is slowly becoming insane.
He has believed he’s the smartest man in the room for years on Sky. The Super League stuff took into overdrive that he’s now a part-time politician (find his terrible ‘champagne socialist’ line he did for someone a few months ago). His head might explode at this rate if he keeps going!

Not sure why Gary's the only one being singled out for not taking a stance on Ole. The rest of the pundits did the same thing yesterday. Keane directly said Fred wasn't good enough to play for the club but stopped short of saying that about Ole. Even Richards tried his best to dance around the question.

Gary is doing all this pro-Ole talk to gather more attention. He probably knows Ole won't take United any further but by having the opposite opinion compared to all the other pundits he stands in the spotlight.

Our ex players want to throw the entire structure of the club under the bus, but give Ole a free pass, as it’s not his fault he can’t adequately coach/ manage a group of players. Ole has been seriously backed and we look awful. Sancho, Bruno, Ronaldo, Cavani, Rashford, Varane and Pogba is one hell of a group of players to build a team around, imagine having those players at your disposal and building a squad that might possibly get 2 or 3 shots on goal in 90 minutes If they’re having a good day. It’s shameful mismanagement.

Nonchalantly scoring the winner...
NOTHING is Ole’s fault in G.Nev’s eyes…

He could come home and find Ole nuts deep in his missus and he’d probably start going mad at her for cheating while tenderly cleaning Ole’s cock for him at the same time.

The logic behind his arguments don't make sense. Never sign world class coaches because two(already on their way down) failed.
Surely we shouldnt sign a top class winger after Di Maria and Sanchez too? Or an aging striker after Falcao? This moronic logic is used here too. It's as if people don't think before trotting out this stuff.

The work Rashford has done is diminished? Yeah I'm sure the school children who benefited from his activism are really concerned about whether he took on that campaign to boost his narrative or whether it was out of sincere concern. Come on. The only person attempting to diminish it here is Neville himself.

So Gary is using a social media platform to warn the fans how bad social media is? The level of thickness is just astounding
He is an uneducated twit isn't he ? Just says what comes to his mind. I am starting to like Carragher a lot more than him. Most of the times Neville comes as a buffoon now while Carra comes as the sane person.

The same way he tries to influence fans when he talks rubbish that he doesn't apply at Salford FC. Anyone with a bit of common sense knows that PR people do PR stuff.
