I’d guess it’s impossible to have 3 mil transfer profit without either being very good at trading, getting very lucky in packs or spending a fortune. I’ve spent hundreds and my transfer profit is about 4 mil.

I currently have about 200k and Ronaldo is now going for under 800k. I'm almost there.
Why is it do difficult to defend? I'm conceding 5 but scoring 6 each game. What gives
Stop controlling your defenders. It’s as simple as that. Track back with your midfielders and allow the AI to defend with your defenders for you. Practice using second man press (default R1/RB) to call for them to pressure and it will get a lot easier for you. It’s the single best tip I can give - even when you feel intuitively like you should switch, 95% of the time, it’s better to keep control of your midfielders and track back.
I’ve tried this, despite it feeling cheap but I feel like it just makes me vulnerable to through balls.
Is a bit mad that if you buy a few players for your team to use in WL by time you're finished the same players have lost 30/40% of their value and you effectively lost coins by competing in the WL. Probably going to get worse too with Black Friday and cyber Monday coming, if they do lightening rounds with preview 50/100/125 etc the markets going to be in the bin.
Lost about 150k on my Di Natale....happy days.

Anyone seen the EA market manipulation theories?
Supposedly all the big cards randomly went up 100-200k in the space of minutes whilst being in the middle of a freefall. Then they started falling again.

I'm neither, just relist a shed load and try and pick up players when they are low. Until the recent boom (which has now gone bust again thanks to the 81-86 preview pack) fodder was dirt cheap. The hero sbc made everything rise which was a lot of profit, also Diop RTTK was a big earner, picked loads up for around 14k and sold when he went near extinct. Requires a lot of paitence and holding for a good few weeks but there is still profit to be made.
I've currently only got 50 cards on my TP, and I've sold hardly anything for about a week, but they'll sell eventually and they are all up for 5-10k more than their price now.

Which SBCs are worth doing? Just started out and I haven't played UT since FIFA16. Bought some packs and got Rashford so went for EPL, then I got untradable Immobile so now I'm feeling I should sell Rashford and go for Serie A. What say thee?

Marquee match ups are usually a good start, cheap as chips but rewards are pretty meh. Hybrid leagues and hybrid nations are where the money is though 2x 55k and 2 50k packs for next to nothing.
Would personally wait until you've done them before deciding what team to go with.

Made a few tweaks to my team, and have been flying through the divisions. Changed from 4231 to 433(4), i prefer the extra width, and to have the 2 cms a bit higher up the pitch to support in attack.

The front 3 are just incredible. The RB Kulusevski is one of the most fun cards I have used in any fifa. His combination of height, speed, ball control and strength is unbelievable, where even the constant Kimpembe teams cant handle the combo of him and Arnautovic.
I have gone from d2 r2 to d1 r1 in 2 days, and am now 3 wins away from elite, where i had been struggling in d2 for about a week

Packed Kaka from the base icon SBC so had to sell Scholes in order to fit everyone in. Shame as I liked him, but playing Kaka in a 2 in midfield means I need someone with better defensive stats
Has anyone used Fernando Torres’s icon card? His base card is only about 450k. It looks great so I’m tempted to buy it, but would have to spend most of my coin balance.
I have some tips. Defending is probably my strength in fifa. Just to give some context, I play division 1 every year and also play as the Any on our clubs. This is mainly due to my defending.
- Firstly, it’s a must that you have Jockey on “assisted” and not “manual”. If you have it on manual you will over run your attacker far too often. They will leave you for dead with quick turns or skills.
- You have to constantly jockey and use minimal tackle button. Sprint and Jockey at the same time is what you need to be doing the majority of time. This year you want to mostly jockey into people as opposed to “tackle” them.
- If you are in a one v one situation at the back, you want to jockey as long as you can while using team mate press to call another nearby player to pressure the man on the ball. More often than not the opponent will be forced into a mistake. Team mate press is very OP this year.
- adjust your team tactics to use a narrow defence. About 4 bars. Also drop the depth down one from the default.
- You always want to keep your opponent in front of the defence and jockey into them from the side when they are making runs through.

You can't use assisted jockey online. If you go to controller settings and look at the competitive master switch it sets it to off as soon as you turn it on, and it's always on when playing online

Got Lewandowski in a preview pack. How is his max buy now only 75k? He's 92ovr ffs. Highest rated card I've ever gotten and he's barely 60k.
He was a beast early doors but don't see him much these days, Werner on the other hand.... whats your team looking like? maybe worth spending the 4K on Werner and upgrading else where.

Depends who you're unhappy with but personally I would swap out Shaw, Dias and Fabinho with Reguilon, IF Romero and maybe Bruno/Tielemans RTTK.
If you have Kimpembe in your team you are scum and I hate you.
So for the new season div6 + get relegated 2 divs each, 7/8 1 and 9/10 stay the same. WL points go up to 2k from 1.5k and apparently the milestone rewards are getting upped.
Rivals is going to be a mess a lot of people will be losing on purpose to avoid getting stuck in a div they don't belong in.

How do you get better at this game, I used to be pretty decent but I can’t even qualify for weekend league. I’m constantly one win of qualifying.

Ive replaced UCL Robertson and Cancelo with Rulebreaker Corner and Rulebreaker Trent. Varane and Van Dijk in the middle and Alisson as goalkeeper. I dont want to concede anymore.
What do you seem to be struggling with? What's your team/tactics?
I don't mind it, but would have preferred it to fully reset. The grind in getting to elite was the fun part, being there is boring as hell though. It's basically 7 wins and don't play it again for the week.
Guilty and not sorry. He's fantastic and the links he offers are just too good to pass up. Will be getting rid as I hate having non special cards in my team but for the price he'll be a hard card to replace.
I'm torn because as someone who was trying to get to the elite div starting again would be terrible for me and you just know that div 1/2 players will purposely stay in the lower divs for free wins but I don't think this is a good solution either.
Elite players will stay 1/2 making it harder for people trying to get promotion to elite and then that will happen all the way down the divisions.
Alisson was just awful for me. I replaced him with Donnaruma who has been much better. Interested to see if he is good for others or is crap for you too.
I think it’s mostly defence I struggle with, I don’t seem to have anywhere near the amount of players actually defending compared to the opposition. I’ve tried more defensive tactics and telling my centre mids to stay back but then my forwards struggle

I don't think people will stay lower. Only reason to play rivals is the rewards and in elite you get an extra red pick each week so people will just play the 7 wins and move on to something else. Can always tank their skill rating in elite to play those nearer the bottom of it if they need to.
