Can just imagine it now

"I need you all to be more passionate, like the Liverpool fans were in my time there"

At least he can answer questions about tactics and football philosophy. I liked that video, he explained it very well. Brendan would probably get Utd playing a 433. He has also worked with Maguire breifly and had him playing so well that Utd paid massive transfer fee.

Bet you money that Rodgers would start Donny in his first game in charge of United and either Fred or Scott would be on the bench

I seem to be in the minority but I would like it at this point.

I know Liverpool Manager and all but I somehow always found him likeable and a good manager.

Going to be quite funny seeing guys like you eat humble pie once he is a success here
It's a win-win to be honest. If he defies all the odds and is successful, then the club is successful.

But if he is our next manager he deserves and will get no slack, no benefit of the doubt, no time for major rebuilds. It's a rotten appointment from an abysmally inept board until proven otherwise. If people thought Moyes was hounded out too quickly, Rodgers will make Moyes look like Ole haha.

he was a liverpool manager but he's not a scouser or a scouser fan before taking the managers role....he'd bring discipline and structure for sure and by god we would at least play some attractive football assuming of course we actually learn how to play out of the back

It's not really though is it. He's the best British manager avalable.

Also, he's not comparable to Moyes as he's actually managed two big clubs before. Moyes is a classic underdog manager that stepped up and was immediately out of his depth. Rodgers will not be.

So what? British managers are shite. No self respecting big club wants to hire any British manager.

He's comparable to Moyes because it will prove to be as shit an appointment as Moyes was. In fact it's worse. At least Moyes wasn't hired just to be a stooge.

Based on what?

The fact he not going to deliver us the league or champs league.

He's a Liverpool reject and failed manager if them. He has blown solid dominating positions in the league with Leicester...........he be doing well to match Ole league finishes to be honest, maybe that is what success is at the moment.

Actually amazed he's getting bigged up massively at the moment. You think Ole at the wheel is embarrassing from rival fans, you ain't seen anything yet with Pretendan in the big seat. To think the abuse we used to give Liverpool about him

You have unrealistic expectations at the moment then. That's not where we are as a club.

Also, Leicester are overachievers with a small squad.

Please don't use silly nicknames.

I don't have any expectations, I had at start of this season but at the moment they seem to be gone..............you said he be a success, I said define success because our current manger getting labelled a joke, so was wondering what would Pretendan be achieving that would be getting us this success?

He certainly not the manager for it.

I'm still refusing to believe he's our No1 target.

This is one of the saddest things about Utd these days. The number of people that hate England but somehow support Utd because of our past success’. Just support Munich or Madrid or something mate.

Who is then?

Not Rodgers, that's for sure.

He not the only Option out there to bring in just for the sake of it.

as I say you think the Ole at the wheel craic is bad............would be absolutely ridiculous with Pretendan here, as I say staggered that he's actually the one some folk want. I'm guessing the desperation is real at the moment. My view is it will be pretty much similar results to previous 2 seasons, only this time be a ex Liverpool manager, and he get even less support if results turn sour.

I think a manager without the Obvious baggage be the best bet. (Ajax manager I would go all out for).

Did you come up with that all by yourself?

Always amusing when somebody like you dismisses Rodgers but can't answer a very simple question of who you think should be appointed.

If Ole was going to get binned and Rodgers being brought in, why would we wait a week to do absolutely nothing? Doesn't sound like anything significant is happening IMO.

Rodgers is definitely a better coach than Ole in terms of tactical approach and identifiable style of play. But long term, not sure he'd be my first choice. Then again, I have little idea who would be.

I’m not sure about this. If we want a long-term plan, then we should obviously sack Ole now, bring it Rangnick until the end of the season, make him DOF and demote Murtough, and then pay whatever it takes to get the best young manager in football, Ten Hag, here in the summer. Put proper football men interested in developing young players and playing a modern, progressive style in charge. Want to go back to the United way? This is how to do it. Ole mentioning the phrase ‘United DNA’ every 2 seconds is not. Doesn’t sound too difficult, but it’s the Glazers we’re talking about, so this is just a pipe dream for us United fans.

However, if it is to be Rodgers, I will give him my full support, as is my job as a United fan. His Liverpool roots and tendency to bottle big achievements having done the hard part will nag on me at the start, but I can move past that if he progresses us and gets us playing the way his teams, from Swansea to Leicester have all played, which is clearly adventurous, attacking football in a 4-3-3 with 2 advanced midfielders. He has won a few trophies as well, including the FA Cup. Granted, the Scottish Premiership and Championship playoff trophies are minuscule to say the least, but it’s better than a serial loser like Pochettino, who I don’t want as well.

What I will deplore though, is if the same people who bring 20LEGEND placards to the game after the one we lose 0-5 to our biggest rivals in and arrogantly paint themselves as better than other fans now, suddenly start flying ‘Wrong one - Rodgers out’ banners after a few months like they did with Moyes. No matter what we think of Rodgers, it is a blatant fact that he’s a better manager than Ole, and the results and style of play simply cannot regress from what we’ve seen over the best part of the past 3 years. Football is based on meritocracy, so these people have made their bed now - if you’re really such a good fan, you back the new, actually competent man to the hilt as well, like you have senselessly done with Ole. I know I’ll be treating him the exact same way I do Ole, and that’s based on performances and results only.

I did on the last line. I'm not on the board at United I'm not appointing the next manager. As I say you don't have appoint Rodgers because be all that might be available.

I haven't a clue why you seem annoyed about Pretendan

Amusing actually

BrendON.

We have no coach now and yet people moaning! We need Ole out at least to save what’s left from our image after that performance in the derby!
