This one hurts.
That’s understandable and you have my admiration for being supportive until the end. That part should you be proud of. With that said regarding Ole.

Apart from not having the knowledge or the experience to manage a team at the highest level his two biggest mistakes was;

a) choosing assistant coaches who also didn’t have the knowledge and experience to help him

b) surround himself with the wrong types of advisers outside the football pitch

Today is not the day to continue bashing him further so I will just end with wishing him well in the future.

Yeah I will second that and admit I had a pop for supporting your countrymen but do also respect you staying with him until the very end

That's a big load of hypocrisy.

Ole FC is not Manchester United. For someone who rather seeing the club burned down, so he can stay loyal to his countryman, to hell with that blind support. That should well be ashamed, and booed out of the forum. Nothing to be proud of.

Ole failed his job and deservedly sacked. This has been coming from miles miles away. The sacking is way way to late as usual. The Ole FC until the recent news still fighting their teeth out about keeping Ole in the face of much much worse performance: Liverpool and Man City. They didn't know to when and how stop with grace. So now cry me a river. Good riddance

Oh feck off with "Ole FC".

Some fans have supported the manager. Some haven't.

As for being ashamed, you should be for your divisive post.

The manager of your choice. Not for what is the best for the club.

I have nothing to be ashamed to call a spade a spade. Some people rather the club fail, so they can feel good about their support for "their" manager (X Y Z FC).

Touched a nerve didn't I? Cry me a river

No actually, I've wanted Ole out since the Liverpool result. But carry on being an idiot...

Only Liverpool game opened your eyes. Anyone who saw it coming miles away were just idiots who didn't support the manager.

Oh the hypocrisy. 6-1 defeated at home to Mourinho's Tottenham didn't exist in your memory?

I wanted him out for real since Sevilla. He shouldn’t have been the manager last season, but he was and I have supported him and the team up to this point. There has been a few occasions last season where I got angry and wanted him fired, but he kept going on runs to save his job. For a moment I started believing he had unlocked this squad and could maybe do this job.
I was wrong about that.

This season has been terrible. There really isn’t more to say. The board has ridiculed him by not letting him go and they should get heat for this. It is unworthy to a man who is a very important person to all of us.

I don’t think there is a single long term United fan who is happy about what has happened, but I am glad it is over, the manner of which it happened is a disgrace.

Hopefully fans will forget the last two months and that we can talk about how he came in and gave the club optimism when there was none. You might think what you will of Ole, but his first 6 months in charge brought with it more optimism and hope than any other manager since Fergie left. He never should have gotten the full time gig. That is not his fault, it is the board being inept. Him taking the job despite not being qualified is not on Ole. You would, I would, everyone would.

''It's not acceptable the way we were playing and doing things. It is easy to blame the manager or the staff, but sometimes it is the players. We need to show much more than we are doing.'' De Gea quoted today.

I think I should share it here.

Fans should be 'ashamed' of supporting the club and 'booed out of the forum' for it. We'll consult in the mods forum on making actively wanting the team to win a bannable offence and let you know the outcome.

Good riddance. Now the coaching staff needs to be sacked as well. They're just as incompetent as Ole.

I'd take literally anybody as interim over ex player FC. Koeman, Hiddink, Blanc, Rangnick. Just pick one who's credentials aren't ex player.

No more time? He just needs a few more seasons to actually find out how we should play.

Ultimately we had 6 losses in 38 league games last season, and now 5 after just 12. That's not down to just the manager - and this is not saying that Ole should stay either, I think he obviously needs to go.

I can finally rest and never post in this thread again. It’s been emotional.

P.S. when I tell you it’s time for the new manager to go. Just get on board. Don’t fight it:keano:
 You’ve had some fun in this thread!

To be fair, you were ultimately right on this one so sorry for giving you shit about it!

“Our basic fitness is nowhere near good enough – I can't wait to get a pre-season done. We've done fantastic to get to where we are. Maybe things have caught up with us and we all know that, to win games of football, you need basics and fitness has nothing to do with talent. I’ve said it before, I want my team to be the hardest-working team in the league, that’s what we were under Sir Alex. That’s what we’ve always been. You had Giggsy, Becks, Gary Neville, Denis Irwin, whoever. But no matter the talent you’ve got, you have to run more than anyone. Every single week, you must do that shift up and down that pitch for your team-mates."
A lot of stuff he has failed to achieve but additionally, I hope the next manager doesn't invoke the past so much every time he's in trouble.

Don’t think Ole is the manager type of a person and will be surprised if we see Ole as manager in club football again.

Why did he fail?

1. Wasn’t able to solve our midfield issue. Stayed loyal to a system that didn’t work. Double pivot and McFred was in my opinion a temporary solution while we waited for a world class DM or a setup (mix) that worked).

2. Ronaldo is a great player and he has saved us many times this season. At the same time I think his arrival had negative impact on Ole’s project.

3. Ole stayed loyal to his coaching team. He should’ve made changes and recruited a experienced world class coach long time ago

4. Bailly, Pogba, Lingard and Martial should’ve been shipped long time ago.

I have no sympathy for him as a person and no respect for him as a manager. He knew he was out of his depth as our manager but kept at it because of the financial benefits, in the end he is like everyone else that had no prior connection with the club.
He was an alright footballer that became useful because he accepted his place as a squad player, for that I am grateful. It is not because he has some special love for the club, it was a mutual beneficial relationship.

I’ll never understand his persistence with ‘McFred’ that will be his lasting memory for me as a manager.

A bit surreal that Donny scored his last ever goal as United manager as well, I’d love his full explanation after this is over why he didn’t start more games. He showed more in 45 minutes than I’ve seen from those 2 mugs in 18 months.

Should never have got to this stage. Personally think he should have gone in the summer. Ole was well out of his depth and the board should have realised this instead of letting his reputation as a much loved former player be dragged through the dirt.

I actually thought Donny was going to delay the inevitable for him yesterday, until our brilliant captain intervened.

He hasn't really done well though. His tenure aside from the caretaker period has been littered with dire performances, football and embarrassing results. Let's not forgot Spurs, fecking Spurs put six goals past us at home only last season. He's been a terrible manager no question.
People see what they want to see. How about coming 2nd and 3rd in his full 2 seasons. How about taking us to many semifinals. Winning lot of hard games. Making great comebacks in lot of games.
The only thing is he didn’t won trophy. Big thing but when you look at the mess he came to I’m not suprised. Despite that there was progress all the time until last months.

:lol:I find it very strange people think he was just in it for the money. He clearly had a long-term vision and believed he could deliver it but was just not up to the job.
He was more than an 'alright' player, he was a very good striker who would've started every game at any other prem club.

We weren't just any other club at the time and he wasnt better than Fowler, Owen, Bergkamp or Henry at their prime, wonder how he would have started for those clubs.

Our stupid board put him into this position. He was never good enough from the first place and I'm betting they knew that. I said it then and I'll say it again, he was hired to be their yes man. Our biggest rival are the idiots that own us.

Was always a big fan of Ole the person but it was obvious he wasn't up to it for quite a while.
Hate seeing how so many fans turned toxic towards him.
He should never have been appointed permanently in the first place.

Of course the Board is to blame for being incompetent. But the Board was never going to resign and Ole was the one who had to go. Yes it is sad it came to this and I wished it had turned out a lot better but he had to go for the sake of the club. If they had parted ways in the summer we would have got a lot of new managers who could have left their current clubs and come but not at this moment in time.

Wanting the team to win?

Are you sure, you followed? There are people who would "support" only their choice of manager. They're rather "proud of" defeats. Defeat can be compared to one of SAF's. SAF Aberdeen achievement was downgraded to Mode nowadays Norwegian league level, so the narrative fit.

Did you miss the part where some of those same fans were also the bigots to tell other fans who saw the inevitable trainwreck from mile a way, to go and support other clubs? Blurring fanboyism with concept of supporting the manager/ the club.

Here nobody asking for anyone to be banned, or telling anyone to go support other clubs (they may voluntarily follow their hero any ways). Just naturally what goes around comes around. You chat shit, then you're gonna get called out for it when people are proven right. No time for PC BS for WUM.
