He’s such a good guy, shame it didn’t work out. He looks emotional and you can tell how much it means to him. Legend.

This is what it's about with United. Class.

The caf can say what it wants, he gave us optimism and confidence previous regimes took away. Always a legend.

Genuinely one of the most stupid things I’ve seen. Baffling decision by the club to do it. I’m hoping he only did it cause it was in his buyout terms.

Poor guy, you can see how much this means to him. United legend through and through, desperately wanted it to work out but it wasn't meant to be. All the best Ole, thank you for 99 and for some good moments as United manager. I wish him all the best!

Wtf Is going on. This is ridiculous!!!

Just hire Dwight Yorke next so we can witness the double standards.

They should have offered him a director role as soon as his interim manager role was over. Maybe we can do that with Phelan

Not a lot of class on this forum these days, sadly.

Gave it his all, was not good enough and not helped by the board keeping him on far longer than they should have. Had he gone after 18 months his stay would’ve been seen a lot more positively.

Club legend, all the best to him.

This club is hilarious.
Do you have literally zero idea of what Ole means to people both within the club and within the fan base? The guy is a legend. there’s no disputing it and it hasn’t worked out for him but I don’t don’t for a second that he did what he thought was best.

He should have been let go earlier, no doubt, but that’s on the board, not him.

Do fans generally agree that he has left the club in a better position than when he took over?

This is a bit weird, I don't think I've ever seen this before.

This is pathetic conduct from the club. Just sacked him but interview him to talk about how great the club is etc etc.

This is the exact sort of mawkish behaviour I would have expected from Liverpool a decade ago.

This all feels a bit Matthew 27:22.

Ole was your Jesus and you've hung him out to dry.

Lovely chap, just out of his depth here. I'm sure he will get a Molde type job again, but thats the last we will see him in the Premier League. £30-40 mill richer for the experience as well.

He's Manchester United through and through and I hope we as a fanbase will respect him moving forward for all he's done for us
