Will Ole get another PL job after this?

Will Ole get another PL managers job at some stage?

Look at Moyes. Ole may have to go out to come back in though. Ole's level is not top six. Ole's level is Leicester, Brighton, Southampton, Palace.
We wouldn't touch him with a barge pole.

Contrary to you we and any other club can see him without the nostalgia glasses. He's not a builder, he's not a tactician and he's not a winner.

He has no business in the PL with his current abilities.

Moyes got one after that horror show so I don't know why Ole can't manage the likes of West Ham, Norwich or Crystal Palace
Moyes is far more qualified than Ole and it still took him several years to get back his bearings at West Ham.

There’s no chance, no one else would have given him a job before we did and no one would now. Imagine how fans of any Premier League club would react to him being appointed, he’s widely mocked by fans of most teams. Not sacking him earlier hasn’t done him any favours, his reputation outside of Utd wasn’t great even before that.

Couldn't get a billion pound squad playing in style I very much doubt one of the medium or lower teams will take a punt with him.

Let's see what's on Ole's mind, maybe he's realistic and knows he only got the United job because his ties as a player or maybe he actually thinks he had the merits and now going back to the Norwegian league is a step way too low. In which case he'll be permanently unemployed.

Your club seems to want to touch Lampard judging by the latest reports.
Nah, we'll surely land Zidane or something. The rumor mill started, it looks like it will be Rodgers last season if he doesn't go before Xmas. I'm betting on a rough season and top 10 finish might be out of our reach.

Hope you keep Rodgers, otherwise he’ll be coming to us.

Some here seem to forget that Moyes actually managed Everton for 11 years before United. He's an experienced PL manager. Nothing comparable to Ole at all.

Ole's only chance to manage in PL again will be with a relegation fodder and I even doubt that might happen considering what happened to Cardiff previously.

He'll probably return to Norway now.

Can only really envisage him being a manager in Europe now. I can't see what he can possibly offer another Premier League club.

In fact, I think as a prospective employer you should actually wipe his time at United from his resume. It's done nothing for him either way. Outside of the United bubble, his time at Molde and to a much lesser extent his time at Cardiff is a much better representation of what he is like as a manger. I seem him manging a club in the Belgian League, back in Norway, possibly the Dutch league, or lower German side. He won't manage in England, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy etc. He just won't. He'll probably end up at Brondby or Antwerp or something.

Think he wants to go to PSG rather than the PL. Potter would be a decent choice for Leicester.
Mate, no way Zidane would come to us and you're right I also think that he's eyeing at the PSG job before replacing Deschamps.

Potter would be a great choice, I rate him highly.

Hope you keep Rodgers, otherwise he’ll be coming to us.
I believe you'll get Pochettino.

People also seem to forget that it is not only performance in isolation that matters - it is performance relative to resources given. Moyes at least had time at Everton when had a club with midtable resources and got them close to top4 consistently. Ole was backed hugely at Molde with billionaire owner and had monopoly over best Norwegian young talents. He was backed financially very strongly at Cardiff, and of course at United. And he still mostly failed.

For a PL job he would have to have an unquestionable success somewhere else first. As of now he is not getting it. Moyes is not even remotely comparable in terms of CV, he had long-term (arbeitet trophyless) success in PL.

Di Matteo was successful in Championship and won CL with Chelsea. He struggled for jobs after they sacked him only managing Villa in Championship and dysfunctional Schalke before being out of the job for 5 years. Lampard had some success in Championship, is a much bigger name in footballing world, and is not getting PL jobs. Ole failed at lower PL/Championship level.

Of course even at top 5 leagues there are plenty of Clubs and some of them might take a punt. But I think that outside footballing world (I mean outside of United fans) view him as the guy who got United job being not even remotely qualified, won nothing, spent a lot and totally crashed in the end. He never ever worked with having limited resources (at Cardiff and Molde he spent a lot relative to their stature). He would be viewed as a huge risk for anyone - and clubs with resources that could afford the risk and high spending would usually have better options.
All fair points.

Yeah I think the board are waiting for Poch in the summer. Just hoping they dont go after Brendan as he will probably leave seeing as he has previous for doing that.

For his sake, I hope he goes to another league. A large section of the ABU media will always be on his back and create unnecessary pressure

I'm not on board with this pile on thread. Ole gave it his best shot with United and it didn't work out. Let's just wish him the best rather than speculate as to how far his star has fallen.

I think it’ll reflect more worse on him if hypothetically Poch comes in and Utd play like more closer to the expected level as per the individual quality of its squad.

Central midfield is a weak point but a) most teams have a weak point of some form and very few teams have the luxury of a perfect team and b) Poch could get VDB, McTominay and Fred looking a lot better than Solskjaer did, because coaching matters a lot more than some people think

I actually think if he managed a smaller club with lower expectations where he could play counter attacking football every week he might be alright.

I know there was cardiff back in 2014 which many will try and cite but they came up with a championship squad and barely invested. Since that time the big tv deal means even smaller PL clubs can buy some decent players.

Yea, except Ole signed like 17 players and did a terrible job in Championship too...

* 7 players.

Thats quite common though. Once the squad have been through the soul kill of the relegation its rare that they suddenly pick up in the championship. Most relegated PL clubs dont do that well when they keep the same manager. Only notable recent one is Farke, did it at Norwich but they sacked him because its going to go the same way in the Pl again.

If he wants to manage in the Premier league again, I think he'd be best suited taking over a club in the championship and trying to achieve promotion.

By now the whole world knows Ole can't coach, doesn't have any tactics he can call his own and needs to spend 100s of millions just to get a team half competitive. He then reaches a stage where he spends a few 100 million more then realises he doesn't know what to do with them.

I'm sure there's clubs out there that would enjoy spending so much money only for these players to be sitting on the bench week in , week out but for some strange reason the names of these clubs escape me.

On the plus side if a player is having a bad game he could always depend on Ole to make him a half time cuppa. Great man management is where it's at.

I actually think the Cardiff tenure goes against him most.

If not for that I could imagine a desperate club in a relegation battle could take the gamble purely based on the initial momentum he had with us. Maybe it could still happen due to Cardiff being so long ago, I would say potentially but only for a club who is in "throw shit against the wall and hope" stage.

It isn't. His level is far, far below that.
Most high-profile job I can see him getting is in the US. I'm not sure he even gets his Molde job back. The historically biggest club in Norway, Rosenborg, is currently searching for a new coach and they wouldn't look at him twice. That tells you all you need to know about his standing as a manager if you remove romanticism.

There is not a single team whose fans will accept Ole as their manager, after his disaster spell here. Everyone considers him a joke, have you not seen our rival fans hoping he would stay?

Honestly I wouldn't want to appoint him if I was a premier league football club. He is undeniably a very lucky guy and manager and brings something that can't easily be quantified that is an absolute asset. Think the asset is positivity. I do think he inspires a lot of belief in the players. At the end of the day though, no-one gets rich in the long term from going to casinos. He can set up a team farely well similar to Palace under Hodgson. But the game is moving on quickly and there are simply much better tactical coaches left, right and centre. Arguably many teams in the championship have better managers. They have to be better managers because they have nothing like the resources of a big club. So I think it would be tough for him to get a job in the premier league, after everyone has seen what happened to the second most expensive squad in history when the vibes ran out.

Ole will definitely get offers from clubs on level with Norwich, but not from clubs among top ten in PL.

The OP question probably isn’t very relevant, because I don’t think Ole wants to manage other clubs in England. Maybe he retires from being manager (club football).

Ole is more fit for being sport director or similar, and he hopefully has realised it himself. I’m not surprised if Ole returns to United (within 10y) in an administrative or sportdirector role.

The feck? Nuno got the spurs job after seasons of constipation including football at wolves. Ole finished 6th, 3rd and 2nd in his time here. What’s the disaster there?

Feck sake folks are ridiculous with this narrative.

He took United from 6th to 2nd place and closed the gap on City closer to a title than Jose did, that's the facts and made a EL final, losing it on a penalty kick.

Ole was / is by no means a tactical genius, but are we forgetting he's beaten the leagues best managers, some of them a few times? Pep, Klopp, Rodgers, Poch, Moyes...

Yet were supposed to believe that smaller or mid table clubs wouldn't give him a shot?

I reckon there's at least 5 clubs that would take him on if not more.

Spending 500m to play worse than Stoke, ang getting utterly humiliated by Liverpool, City and Watford, for starters.
