…are you just counting the days until the “wrong” guy gets sacked?

I’m getting a vibe of “my guy’s the only solution” from a lot of posts. Is that how people really feel? Or is everyone willing to accept that there are two or three managers out there who could all do a very good job and all deserve a bit of patience from us fans?

I got my preferences like most people, but I'm still behind any manager we hire. Whining early on is a waste of time.

After Ole, any manager is literally an upgrade. I'd get behind any manager except Rodgers.

Any half decent supporter will get behind the manager no matter who it is. We all have our preferences on who we'd like it to be but whoever it is, is and will be my manager I'll 100% be behind. If it's the wrong appointment (in my eyes) then I'd blame the board not the actual manager.

I'm open to all but the two managers we seem to be a bit keen on (Pochettino & Rodgers). If we can avoid them, i'm not too fussed.

The idea of having either of them managing us is a bit miserable. Rodgers especially.

The time for patience is over though. If there's one thing everyone should've learned from the Solskjaer era, patience does nothing.

To be honest yes, so tired of passive, boring managers whose teams are shite to watch, any manager coming will take time to win something, that's not a big issue for me, just had my fill of reactive, chicken shit approaches to playing any decent side, dark ages football and personality free managers.

I think people need to accept that whoever we get will be going up against arguably the two managers in the world right now. And Tuchel isn’t bad too.

That is precisely how I feel and how I will act. I will do the "See I told you so" very early. Altough I like the Poch to be honest.

No whoever gets the job will hopefully be a success. My preference has no merit, there is no point sticking to it.

I'm coming around to Poch. I don't think he's good enough, but better him than appointing Rodgers..

I'll give him time. The only manager who I wrote off before they stepped foot here was Moyes as I never felt he was suited for it. If it's Rodgers, I'll probably be quick to jump on him but I'll also hope he isn't shit, as of course I want nothing more than United being good again. But reaaaaally hope it's not Rodgers (thankfully its gone quiet). Ten Hag would be the dream appointment, but I've become used to not expecting the ideal stuff here.

100% whats happening. The narrative from some around Pochettino is as if we're giving Carrick a 4 year deal. Any top club in the world would have Ten Hag, Zidane and Pochettino on shortlist, and seemingly we've added Rodgers.

So it's one of those 4 and realistically zidane is out, so one of 3. Not hiring the one you want is not evidence of some catastrophe.

Yeah I will happily get behind Pochettino if he's appointed but still with that awful feeling of Ten Hag ending up at a league rival and ripping it up

I want ten Hag or Enrique but would get behind (not in that way :nervous:) Rodgers and Poch.

All three look to implement a modern way of playing the game at the very least.

A manager is judged on results. Those who don't necessarily want said manager would soon change their minds if they produced the goods.

Ditto, but I’d even get behind that egotistical prick if we were so stupid.
Is he really?

I think getting Swansea promoted and then the Liverpool job turned his head and made him an insufferable David Brent impersonator for a while.

But that was all years ago. I can't recall any of that in recent times*.

Don't get me wrong; I'm not champing at the bit for him to be given the job. But I think it's unfair to hold a passing phase against him for eternity.

* I don't exactly monitor his every utterance, so I may have missed stuff...

Nah I think whoever we sign will be an improvement.

I love Ole but I have serious doubts that he is a Premier League level manager. Of those mentioned my last choice would be Rodgers but I still think Rodgers is significantly better as a coach than Ole.

Anyone except former players is fine by me.

I do have preferences but nobody gives a feck about them but me.
And the wife needs to hear them sometimes.

I’ve got that vibe too from browsing around. There’s a weird cult like theme to some of them. I’d be happy with any of Ten Hag, Poch, even Potter to be honest. But I wouldn’t wish failure on Brendan Rodgers if we got him. I don’t understand having an allegiance to a manager who isn't your own tbh.

I have no idea either, yet.
It feels that whoever is hired will be battling a section of the online fans from the off. The football fan game done changed. There was always a good bit of moaning as a football fan but it was underpinned by a kind of irrational loyalty.

Has to be a high press guy for me. So Poch or ETH. Otherwise it's just same shit in a different can.

I'll always support the manager, as I do every player, and want them to prove my misgivings wrong. Especially right now, beggars cannot be choosers and I fear for us in the next two matches under Carrick, I really do.

Deepthroating information to Howard Nurse.
To be fair this is the first time in 8 years I agree with the profile of manager that we’re targeting. I think all 3 candidates have their merits - Ten Hag is only regarded as a sure thing by so many because he hasn’t really had the chance to fail yet like Rodgers and Pochetino. I’ll support whoever we bring in like any normal supporter does but I do think Rodgers would be a monumental mistake.

Whomever it is, I want them to succeed and play good football. I don't particularly care what their name is - I'll be far more skeptical of Rodgers than the others though - doesn't mean I'll throw a hissy fit over him. Still, what I want is to watch us play good football and challenge for trophies. If the man that does that is called Ten Hag, Rodgers, Zidane or Pochettino - is of little consequence. Obviously I have my preferred candidates, but that is what I consider requirements for a succesful manager for us, so if whomever is put in charge can achieve that I'll have no complaints. Oh and actually looking like a proper football team would be nice.

People on the internet are renowned for being incredibly reasonable when they don't get exactly what they want, so I'm sure the new manager will be greeted with glee and optimism across the board.

So getting the United gig would make him a lovely grounded individual.
Well he seems to have become fairly grounded since his Liverpool days. I doubt if he'd want to attract the ridicule that the David Brent impersonator was (rightly) subjected to all over again.

And I'd certainly never want a United manager to be lovely. Ruthless driven bastards only please.
