There's nothing wrong with Hartis, so he probably stays, and McKenna is highly rated - but clearly lacks the experience to do the job at the top level. Give him a few years as a suplementary tactical coach under someone decent and he'll do fine. Carrick I have no idea about - but let's face it, the problem is that they are too inexperienced to be the leading coaches, not that they are really terrible coaches and can't function in a more professional environment. For all we know they could probably do a job as regular coaches working under more experienced head coaches.

Pay it straight out of the glazers pocket. Useless cnuts. Why were they in such a rush to extend everyone?

They will all have clauses in. As clueless as the Glazers are when it comes to football, their money is important to them.
They are absolutely horrible at money management though. Nobody signs off on the transfer and wage spending that United do and doesn't demand some form of results. The constant ineptitude is constantly hurting their pockets. They're just shite from all perspectives and lucky to be tied to the United name which naturally grew as football grew.

And we all know this was the real reason you didn’t want to sack any of them. Which cost us like 9 points more than it should’ve done. So pay up, you tight fecks.

I read that the Ole contract for example if they had to terminate they wouldn't have to pay it all off but who knows... I don't think even the Glazers would be stupid enough to not put clauses in those renewals.

This was reported weeks ago, sounds like nothing was signed. Do we have any official announcement from United?

What was the role of John Murtough and Darren Fletcher in these deals? Absolutely ridiculous and short-sighted, but unsurprising.

No surprise. The club has been working to build continuity with the appointments of Murtough and Fletcher. The basis on that it would be less disruptive when we change managers. The problem is it only works well if the foundations are built right but yet we build it with inexperience hands, people who are all learning complete new roles on the job. You start shite, you continue shite.

Couldn't risk other club taking our amazing coaching staff away from us.

Obviously we extended the deals as you can't expect inexperienced coaches to deliver value in first few years in professional football, can you? It's their learning curve guys.

I bet this move completely demoralised many of the players that saw no future with the backroom staff.

That said, everyone has a hand in the drop in standards, starting from the very top.

Giving Phil Jones, Mata and the like multiple contract extensions beggars believe. That our fanbase generally accepted this has also stunned me, considering I've not been following fan sentiment as closely in recent years.

It's a shame Carrick and McKenna are so low energy, we could have given one of them the Fred the Red job.

Why exactly did we need to give them anything more than an annual rolling contract, whose pinching them and paying them more than the mugs at United.

This was common knowledge. They didn't announce it cause it would have been terrible PR.

If true, then Murtough would have played a big part in these extensions.
Decisions like this , if true, show the lack of awareness and football philosophy amongst those making decisions.

Was it? I know Phelan and Ole got new contracts. I don’t remember the club officially announcing McKenna and Carrick

Why does this even bother anyone? McKenna and Carrick were promoted by Jose, not Ole. By all accounts both are valued highly by the football people. So even if they aren't coaching the first team, they can both go down and coach the reserves or the U18s.

Just keep Carrick as part of the coaching staff if Poch arrives, let Phelan leave and push Mc Kenna to the U18s

Murtough, Fletcher and whoever else is running the academy. McKenna in particular got rave reviews when United poached him from Spurs.
So people who have been failing at the club or novices like Fletcher.

Since Ole delegated tactics and training to his coaching staff. I think its clear to see they were not good enough

What do you expect? Get Ten Hag and Marco Rose to coach the reserves because its such a wonderful proposition?

Isn't it Judge and Woodward who does all this.

People saying big deal but I absolutely hate the way the club is recklessly run throwing away millions upon millions on contracts year in year out, it will all lead to higher ticket prices and the fans paying for it one way or the other to be served up utter shite on a weekly basis. It’s not fair and no successful organisation should be run so incompetently…
