There is no doubt he's a lot less mobile than I thought he'd be but you can't question his ability to score goals if he gets half a chance.

Absolute world class.

Many people here are Ronaldo fans not United fans. Like I said in a previous post 8 years ago there were some Kagawa fans that defended him no matter what. It's the same phenomenon but a bigger fan base (because Ronaldo admittedly was one of the best player in the world).

Do these people really think that a club such as Manchester United build a team around a 37 year old??? man have some pride in the club, this club should not be desperate. He is not even super good at the moment, 4 goals in the PL is not super good and he was absolutely destroyed against Liverpool and City.

People keep saying he needs other players do his hard duties for him, WHY? what makes him let others do that? when he scores 4 goals in the PL. Back at Real Madrid he scores 50~60 goals a season, so he might have a point to say the others should do the work for him. Why should United abandon a formation/system and change everything just to suit him when he scores 4 goals in the PL?? Even if you add the Cl goals which is 9, it is good but still not enough to change everything for him.

He is now in a level where he himself should adapt to the team but if his ego does not allow that then the next managers first job is to bench him.

It amazes me how he can have a poor individual game and still keep his confidence that he will score if given the chance. Another masterclass

Burnt my nose on coke (the drink) when the 6 goals in 5 matches box appeared. The doubters on here are idiots. He's worth adjusting your team for (duh doi).

Oh dear, silent all game and scores with the defender's mistake and all people are going to jump on the bandwagon aren't it?
If any player deserve praise it's the goalkeeper and Sancho, maybe we can add Fred, Bruno there.

See where you are coming from, but in saying that I don’t think any of our other forwards would have scored the chance either. He was alert and it was a great finish.

According to whoscored, he has highest average rating in the game with 8.08 (Sancho is 2nd with 7.73)
He also has made 4 successful dribble (1st), 1 key pass (2nd), with 2 shots on target (1st), won 2 arial duels (2nd), and scored 1 decisive goal (1st) of course.

We all know subjectiveness/bias can change the whole perspective to formulate one's opinion. But lets not forget the objective stats too.

He was alert and in the right positions all game.
Part of a good strikers job is to score when the opportunity comes even if that's in the last few minutes after a quiet game.
And Ronaldo is a lot more than a good striker, he's lethal.

It really is brilliant to have him back

Does he support United? I bet he doesn't celebrate Ronaldo's goals if so

probably goes and watches another 5 videos on why he's bad for the club instead.
He will shy away from his preaching, for a few days as usual. Then when all the discussions die down abit, he will come up with all his theories of why Ronaldo is the cause of all our problems again. It won't stop him, even if Ronaldo score us 40 goals this season. He will always find rooms to preach his own theories regardless, unless we won the double or something, I guess, maybe that would quiet him for a month.

The essay writers telling people how bad Ronaldo is must feel really stupid every week being proved wrong to then come back writing more essays to be proved wrong again
Even I feel stupid after reading them. :houllier:

It's really something else the mental gymnastics they do in order to, somehow, arrive at the conclusion that everything going wrong with the team has been Ronaldo's fault.

Or when we will have a totally shit game where everyone performs 2 out 10 and Ronaldo was the main reason for it or something.

Took his goal calmly and played a key part in the 2nd, not much else he could do within a hotchpotch set-up.

Everyone since tactix, tifo football and the likes have made it mainstream everyone wants to be that one edgelord who can point of the "true" rot in a teams poor performance.

Some things don't chance. Scoring goals is the most important thing in football and the best player is in that position. Simple as that. You don't look at his 3rd quarter pre assist press while his back is 20 degree to the goal.

I'm fairly confident he'll be content with the team being crap as long as he's racking up his goal count.

My stance on Ronaldo didnt change but i find it really weird to pin all shit on him, acting like we played Godlike football without him in last 3 years. Are people that desperate to wash Ole from good portion of blame so they turn on Ronaldo? So weird.

Dread to even think what would have happened if he went to City.
