I know Silva missed a penalty yesterday but he was quite decent overall.

If Ten Hag takes over, I think Mason or Martial will be our starting striker.

Why? So far he has flopped at Dortmund and needs to increase a lot to be considered a success there.
He's good at dribbling and link up play which is something United need considering most of the strikers here are just selfish. Plus he is a flop now so he will come cheap.

You have already signed Sancho who does the same, but is a much better player?

Ideally, I expect Martial, Cavani and Pogba to be gone soon so that's why new replacement will come in.

It has little to do with Sancho.

Not so sure. I know he was using Tadic as a false #9 in the CL games a few years ago but generally I think he has gone for the likes of Haller and Huntelaar up top. Seems like he likes that physical #9 up front.

How's about Duvan Zapata? Certainly tore us to shreds, though that's not saying much at the moment. Has knocked in loads of goals in Italy as well. Wish he would do this for the Colombian side, though. Has been absolute crap for us in the South American qualifiers.

Gonclaves? I believe he’s a sort of no.10/wide attacker. Not really a striker

I know he scored against us but in my opinion he’s not a good finisher, or at least not consistent. Certainly has the physical traits for the PL though

Joshua King Watford FC for 30 million pounds I think his age is 28 or 29 next year. He can play here at the level. Or loan move for Vardi because Rooney rules the roost.

Julian Alvarez, top scorer in Argentina, scored 4 last weekend, 21 years old and apparently a 21 million euro release clause. Linked with Milan, Juventus and also with Fiorentina as Vlahovic's replacement should they cash in on him

Vlahovic seems to be having a breakthrough season. It would be nice to get him.

Might have to catch some of Fiorentina's matches and see what all the fuss is about with this Vlahovic lad.

Have to say I'm intrigued by the Joao Felix rumours. He's a really clever player and would seem a great fit up top in a 4-2-2-2 alongside Greenwood or Rashford because he's quite good at creating with his back to goal in link play. Hasn't delivered for his price tag obviously but 20 in 87 for Atletico for a 22 year old isn't too bad really, if he improves at a usual rate over his early 20s.

No idea what the fee would be.

Big, strong, pace and power, plays like the opposing defenders and gk murdered his dog, really REALLY good when he can run at the defence both with and without the ball, good movement off the ball esp in the box, really good finisher, decent passer with vision...

Almost trash with his back to goal. Like early Lukaku, struggling to trap the ball and getting bullied by defenders half his size(the same defenders who look like pins being bowled over when he runs at them)

I actually think Greenwood can be that player for us. He's not the Rashford type who plays on the last man and runs in behind. Instead, he likes to drop off, link play and can spot a pass.

With Cavani and Martial going, I'd say we need more of a Rashford striker than a Felix, leaving us with:

Rashford/New Striker - Ronaldo/Greenwood

Funnily enough, we've been linked with Werner, who suits that profile. Maybe Rangnick could get his reignite his goalscoring form.

Mbappe anyone? :p

The obvious one is Haaland, but realistically we cant get him not with us at this state. So the next tier strikers are Vlahovic, Isaak, Jonathan David, Darwin Nuñez.

It will depend on how Rangnick set us to play really.

I'm not sure Greenwood gets on the ball enough, but I imagine he'll get a chance as Rashford's partner, so we'll see.

Osimhen at Napoli also looks very promising from that category. Dominic Calvert Lewin too.

Osimhen has look good, but Napoli paid 70M for him so I don't think they'll ask for anything below 100-120M.

DCL is also good, not so young but a good option as well.

Jesus fokin Christ! This is the best description regarding Vlahovic i have ever read! Moreso, one of the best things I've read here this year!

If the striker isn't really elite, we shouldn't bother.

Buy a midfielder who is good on the ball instead.

How good is Schick? Scores loads, but has a unimpressive highlight reel.
This is fecking sad. His highlight reel at sampdoria was class. Looked really special, and spectacular, before they found the heart condition and everything went to shite :(

I don't know anything much about Jaoa Felix so can someone help me?

I remember I always wanted to see Martial as a false 9 inbetween Rashford and Greenwood - then it finally happened with a good half season following with a rubbish full one.

Would Jaoa Felix inbetween Rashford and Greenwood be what I have been looking for?

I'm not really asking if Rashford or Greenwood is good enough in people's opinion - I'm more specifically asking if Jaoa Felix would be a player that can play as a false 9 and help two wider forwards with some interlinking creativity, chance creation and goal scoring themselves.

Could Jaoa Felix play like Firmino if we set up Rashford and Greenwood as Mane and Salah as an example?

Rashford---J Felix---Greenwood

Now we extended Cavani's contract we have one year breathing space but if we want to replace him eventually we might as well take a look at Adam Hložek. Massive talent, proper number nine, been playing men's football since 16 (18 now), already one of the best players in the league and the most all round striker I remember at this stage of development, 188 cm strong for his age, quick and agile as well.

He's got 11 goals and 9 assists in 16 games this year only due to lengthy injury but came back in a great form. Scored a typical goal for him today. Otherwise here's a complimentary video. half the highlights are from when he was 17.

Liverpool and WHU apparently after him, think we should hijack the deal now before he moves to a club like Dortmund which in fairness would be a better move for him now but I think he could be easily loaned out back to Sparta and available for 25 mil + add ons now and is certainly worth it as an already established player with such high potential...
Never heard of the lad before to be honest, but this is the kind of deal we should be doing more often. Another name would be Roko Simic who is considered to become the next Mario Mandzukic.

He's very good at linking up and will score goals, but Firmino was a #10 before he became a false 9, and Felix is a striker. Not sure he's hungry enough for the ball and a good enough defender to really mirror Firmino. We look like we're playing a 4-2-2-2 anyways.

Dani Olmo looked up to it at the Euros at time, though he hasn't scored much for Leipzig. Florian Wirtz seems really well suited to the role. Should cost a ton, but that means we're one of the 5-10 clubs or so you could see actually spending the 85M or whatever it would take.

So there are players for that spot if after next season Cristiano leaves and we try to play 4-3-3 with a false 9 type and Sancho/Rashford/Greenwood/Diallo rotating as the 4 wide options.

There's also Sancho. He's not played the role but has a lot of the qualities you'd want in terms of playmaking for wide forwards.
