How they answered to the rumors:
- Luis Enrique: It’s an april fool
- Lopetegui: it’s absurd
- R.Garcia: don’t confirm, don’t deny
- Rooney: Committed to Derby until someone tell me otherwise
T. Hag: Fully focused on Ajax, dont care
Zidane: Not interested and never will be
Ragnick: Interested with decisional power
Mark Hughes: They have my number, nobody has called.
Steve Bruche: I can stabilise United.

That's not a good answer though. Mckenna is the best candidate of them all. He's got the best coaching CV having done well with both Spurs youths and United youths + he's now been no 2 to both Mourinho and Ole.

I really don't understand United these days. We seem to hate experience which is strange considering SAF managed the club for so many years. Even the caretaker job was given to Carrick when its evident that Phelan was a far better option
Mate it’s doesn’t f’ing matter. This isn’t an aim to hyperbole the greatest coach of all time. It’s just a path for us to promote people within the club that have given us a good service with the opportunity of finding a role within the club. All we do on Redcafe is bang on about VDS and Overmars. Do you think they was the best Ajax could find?

Your missing my whole point. I don’t care who’s the best. A new manager will have coaches that best work for him as far as I’m concerned McKenna is f’ing shit as since he’s been a first team coach our football has been crap. Academy coaching and first team coaching are levels apart.

My point remains you have someone who promotes the principle core ethos of what Manchester United is and you continue to bring those people through your back room set up. What you don’t do is oversaturate it like we have been doing.

Now if I had a choice of giving that role to someone out of Fletcher, McKenna, Carrick or Phelan. I’m not picking old guards who have been stinking out the place with bad habits.

Is that more clear now?

Where did you get all that from. Especially Zidane and Ragnick part?

I'm sure he would try. I don't believe there are qualities that guarantee anyone will be a good coach. It's not something you necessarily "pick up".
Well the aim isn’t to find it. It’s to offer the opportunity. I mean Vieira is doing pretty well and he started off doing academy assessment at City. I don’t think they picked him because he was the best in class.

You guys really are scorned by Ole

Not at all. I'm happy for the right ex-United men to be at the club in different roles. I don't trust United to have any idea which of our former players is good enough to do these roles. So at the moment it's just sheer nepotism for me. Having a new manager start with Fletcher as part of his staff, based on nothing really, would not be a good start.

These people had worked under the best manager in the world and yet the vast majority of them aren't even good pundits. A big chunk of them had gone into management (Bruce, Robson, Ole, Gaz, Keane) and failed, sometimes spectacularly. Others were coaches (Carrick etc) and failed as well. So if these people can't learn from the very best then how on earth can they learn at a time when the club is shambles? Fletcher's rise to prominence borders to the hilarious. He went from coaching the U-16s (October 2020) to become part of Ole's first team coaching (January 2021) right to become technical director (March 2021). That's two promotions in 5 months. Now either Fletcher is SAF, Busby Clough, Paisley and Shankly wrapped in one which makes stuff like going up the ranks and gaining experience redundant around such prodigy or there's a huge dose of blunt nepotism and stupidity in all this. TBF the United DNA seems to give special powers to people as its mentioned in both articles.

In the current climate we should go for the best in the job. Let's build the structure first with the right people in it who can identify talent when they see it and are able to go past buzz words like United DNA. Then once the system is in place and is successful then we can think of how to implement a solid career progression for players.

No mention of a title.
Probably wouldn't have been completely out of the question for a decent push had we sacked Ole after Liverpool but we dithered around for another month sacrificing points and table positions in the process so that seems to be as far as the club's current ambitions lie.

Start at around 7:45 if you want to go from not knowing who Rudi Garcia is to being sold on Rudi Garcia in about 60 seconds^

People need to flipping relax with this ex player coaching stuff. The issue we have now is that all of our coaches are amateur. But there is nothing wrong with the odd ex players who’s shows promise coming into a good coaching set up.

Zidane done exactly what we have Fletcher doing now and although we take the mick with him getting his boots on. Zidane was doing exactly the same with it going viral at Madrid.

So no there is no problem Fletcher doing an education at the club the issue is when you stick him with Carrick and Solskjaer. All novices.
Zidane was coaching in the B team before he got promoted to 1st team. Same with Guardiola. Flecther has 0 experience as a coach at all. The club is in crisis, been in crisis post SAF. As for the 1st team coaching staff, it's not a time to have someone on staff whose learning on the job and has 0 to contribute. If Fletcher wants to learn go to coach the under 21s or go to a different club. The 1st team coaching should all be experienced and be focused on turning the ship around. And frankly the new manager should pick his own staff and not have unqualififed people imposed on him because they are ex-players.

Its because many of you want them to become Pep 2.0. Not being funny but whoever would be coming in would have been very successful without whoever we keep around the place. It’s not going to make diddly squat difference who’s Hanging around trying to soak up experience or reminding players of the values of playing for Manchester United. I’m not expect Fletcher to revolutionise football with sole amazing coaching methods.

Another example (Just because they are bloody numerous amounts of them). Arteta was part of Pep’s coaching set up. Now manages Arsenal and he don’t look like baby Pep to me, neither does Pep look like he’s missed him.

Fergie literally had Phelan stealing a living thinking he was as actually a good coach. That was just one man. It made no difference to us.

Zidane came in as a sporting director(played a role in getting Varane). Then was past of the coaching set up, then managed the B team. Fletcher has just begun.

Fifth option is reportedly Fonseca.

Who do we want?

I genuinely have no idea what the best option is here.
I think I would be fine with any of them tbh. It's an interim manager, we're not going to be hiring a Pep or Klopp here. We need somebody to come in secure top four and possibly win a trophy then we move on and appoint the long term manager.

This romantic idea of past players managing MUFC needs to stop.
We tried it with Ole and it was a disaster.
Right now we have 3 coaches all related to MUFC's past - Phelan, Carrick and McKenna and all 3 of them need to be fired, asap. Absolutely dreadful coaches. These are the guys who have taken a team of Galacticos and have them struggling to match the technical ability of Watford!
Not a single player that has entered the first team has improved. Even Bruno (who was a revelation when he joined us), is now beginning to struggle and was benched in our last game.
We also hired a set-piece coach over the Summer. That guy should also be fired as our set-piece defending has been dreadful this season since he joined.
These coaches should be removed from the club without any severance pay, on the basis that they aren't actually coaches but imposters.

I can go on and on, but you get the drift.

Let a new manager join and he should be allowed to bring in his own elite-level coaches, rather than the poor excuse for coaches we have.

Agreed with all points.
There is no way in hell that Fletcher is "that" good. And my gut tells me that he is as bad as McKenna, Carrick, Ole, etc.
We need an elite level manager to join and he needs to insist that his own coaching crew be the coaches to our players.
These coaches have taken players like Ronaldo, DDG, Pogba, Sancho, Bruno, etc and coached them to lose to the likes of Watford. Why the hell has this board not seen this and wondered why these highly skilled players are all playing so badly?

I just want a manager who will make us press and learn us to pass and keep the ball. We're really shit at these.
That will require a new set of coaches.
The astounding thing is that Carrick was such a silky smooth midfielder, yet he doesn't know how to coach midfielders.

Valverde or Favre would be a good pick and possibly worth keeping on permaently if they did well. The other interim options i was less enthused by. Ragnick seems a bit of a stretch for a short term appointment when he's already in work.

Favre had basket case Balotelli at Nice and miraculously managed to get the best out of him, which is a strong indication he can deal with the stronger egos in our squad. He's my pick.

Such an uninspiring shortlist of interim choices. None of them good enough nor have any kind of proactive style. Valverde is just upgraded Ole with the 'sit tight and hope attacking talent finds a way'. Never found him to be too inspiring during his Barca days, always saw him as very passive and almost as bad as Ole about making changes in-game. The less said about the others on that list the better. Love how our incompetent board went from Conte to this pile of misfits. Worst thing is, if any of this lot win a few games, you all can forget about Poch or Ten Hag coming in the summer because you just know Woody will sign them right up on a permanent contract.

Get him the feck in right now

Makes too much sense which is why it won't happen I'm sure.

Hope his ties with Murtough are enough to sell the board on bringing him on in a sporting director/DOF role
What are the ties between him and Murtough?
