Mad thing about Sancho's goal was if he'd chosen to slide Rashford in instead of passing it into the net, Marcus would have been offside.
During their run towards the goal together after Jorghino's miscontrol Rashford was in an offside position for most of it.....mindless stuff!

That's it. I'm out of this thread.

Everyone knows this was a great result.

Take note: Things have changed. You must be positive now. If you complain about performances you will be labelled as a "miserable bastard" or a "moaner". Our club is on the way up.

Mother of God. If one more person mentions xg. I swear most of you would been in here bitching about our possession stats after we beat Bayern in the Nou Camp. Take a night off. New dawn tomorrow. We'll see if Ralf can bring ye some pleasure.

That was an important point at the league leaders and to stop the rot and Watford.
A very cool finish from Sancho for that goal which will do him good. He'd have been crucified had he missed with Rashers free to his left.
If he had passed to Rashford who was offside I would have personally kicked his backside.

Feck all time! He's been part of the management for ages.

There's making a team hard to beat and then there's not even making an effort to attack, even on the break. His "tactics" were to play 11 behind the ball and hope not to concede. Even then, Chelsea should have scored a few.

Pardon me for not being a happy clapper at this abject performance.
I haven't really seen any happy clappers so I'm not really sure what you're railing against.

You do understand the coach does what the manager says? Now he's manager he's making all the decisions for himself and he's clearly doing things differently to Ole and yes he had feck all time to get a team at rock bottom to play two tough games.

But it come back to the same point. He's the caretaker for a few games til Rangnick comes in and has gotten two good results so what is there to get worked up over? It beggars belief

He's one of many unintelligent players in our team. Sancho is one of our few intelligent players.

That final was 2.26 - 1.54 in United’s favour regarding xG.

34% possession, 3 shots, 2.81 - 0.86 xG. Don’t be fooled by this meek surrender. It was dog shit.
It wasn’t good but the xG stats are a bit crap without context… 1.7 of that is from 23 shots. None of which were decent chances.

Only three attempts had an xG of better than 0.09 which is pretty low.

No, exactly the opposite.

If that perfermance had been when Ole was manager, those defending/making excuses for Carrick would be rounding on Ole vehemently.
Yeah well of course. The demands and expectations are completely different. Ole had been here 3 yrs with a remit to get us challenging. While carrick is a temporary manager with no managerial experience. Who in their right mid would criticize Carrick for parking the bus? Why would you expect Carrick to get us playing any better than before?

Oh come on, you surely don't believe that was a deserved point? We were thoroughly outplayed for 94 minutes, our only saving grace was that Chelsea were shite at putting their chances away.
Sorry I really do. It was well deserved. I don't equate deserving to possession or number of shots. Similarly how I feel to Villarreal. Both of these results were not lucky flukes. We got what WE deserved.

Rashford was, as usual, offside. You really have to wonder if he has a footballing brain at all.

Mostly by those who have been crucifying Ole for the past three years

I just wanna say well done Carrick. At a time when we were mired in the dumps, 2 gutsy performances have stopped the rot, raised morale and left the Professor something to build on. Maybe Carra has earned a deputy assistant coaching slot. At least this time he will be learning from someone qualified.

Got nothing against the resultthey've been good/great.

It's the performances I have issue with, rightly.

Fair point but we played as the clear inferior and stole a point ultimately. We should demand better.

Seems you watch with different specs on to me, then.

IMO, we were lucky and totally outplayed in both matches. Isee nothing in the last two games to be optimistic about.

Rangnick, now that's another matter.

From defending the indefensible you have turned the other way. Ole is still at fault, nothing has changed about that.

You're correct. We're performing very poorly in the performance league. Which is what it's all about.
Bit of apointless post but I will answer anyway.

Can't be this lucky all the time, performances do matter ultimately if you want to do better.

Ole was at fault I agree, but he was not the only one.

Performances haven't got any better (results somehow have) so both players and coaches should bear some of the responsibility as well.

Anyone pissing and moaning about that performance can feck off.
Morale is lower than a snakes belly and we have been butfecked by way worse teams than Chelsea recently.
Yes we conceded possession and yes we played on the counter but what did anyone expect?
That was decent all things considered.
Chelsea are light years ahead in terms of organisation and style of play 1 point 100% gained in my opinion.

Rubbish performance. Cheslea had a lot of shots but only 1 or 2 decent efforts aside from the penalty. 6 at the back at times worked to deny them clear cut chances, but it was an ugly display overall.

Still it's a point though and were it not for a brain fart from AWB, it could have been 3.

Exactly. It really is very simple. People frothing at the mouth over this performance when its a caretaker manager in charge, for most likely the last time too, is frankly baffling, this place somehow reaches new lows every week.

Chelsea won't drop many points at home this season, they were the netter team overall but a very nice point to build on.

We should see 4th at a minimum now.
I was overjoyed at that result but how that performance makes you think we will get 4th is astonishing.
We did not play any better today than against Liverpool, City and Watford, Chelsea were just rubbish in front of goal. We literally couldn't string 3 passes together.
I'm hoping(praying) Rangnick can make a difference quickly but on current performance levels we are not even a top half team. We don't retain possession, we dont create chances, we don't defend very well. Recently our stats are relegation reading.
Top 4 is miles off IMO. Honesty hope I'm wrong

Ronaldo sub killed off the game, we were ticking before that.
Lingard sub 100% did kill it off, don't understand that sub.
Bruno should of been taken off 20 mins before he did, was awful.
Can't believe that I'm saying it but besides that kind of harsh penalty and those subs, the game was ours for the taking.
If maguire was playing we would of lost that one horribly. I hope we play Bailly + Varane going forward.
Lingard almost lost us the game with that idiotic dribble at the end of the game. WTF was he thinking.

Can't get over the fact that Rashford was still running into an offside position when they were clear for the goal. Could it be that this guy has no idea how the concept of offside works?
Anyway good result, I'll take Carrick over Ole any day.
Yes, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Fortunately, Sancho had the composure to avoid passing and delivered a cool finish. But, Rashford didn't offer him an option then. Madness!

Not what I want to see from us but given the circumstances, a welcome point and well played Michael Carrick.

Glad for Sancho to get a goal, glad for DDG to make some great saves and keep his good form up, the less said about everything else the better.
