No offence but I think it may be you who's surprised.
Look at the amount of fixtures coming up in the coming weeks. Rangnick is not accustomed to coaching sides playing three times a week and will never have experienced anything like the winter period in England. The time on the training ground is going to be very limited through December and most of the focus will be on recovery.
Simon Jordan seems to like it, as he was right about Ole all along maybe that is good news.
Rangnick strikes me as a been there, seen it, done it type of guy, and he clearly has a strong footballing ideology. I’m hopeful he can be the guy to finally move us away from the spectre of SAF. It’s time to move forward.

Why is everyone shocked our current coaches are staying ?
I’m confident Carrick, McKenna, and Phelan will get cut in the summer.
He was a coach when we won the CL/PL double, and assistant manager when we won multiple league titles.
Very excited. Not so much for rest of this season but the idea that we've taken a positive step with modern approach and that Rangnick will oversee a cultural rebuild at every level. Coaching, underage, transfer strategy etc
Frustrating but expected, United seem to think Carrick and McKenna are world class.
Good now hopefully that means we won't play like Brexit Burnley on Thursday
I read that it was agreed that Ralf will assess these guys once he arrives, hopefully, he’ll assess that they’re not up to the task.
the board have said they are staying, what they do is down to Wreck it Ralph. Phelan on tea making, Carrick Id give one last chance to, McKenna putting out the cones. Job done.
Pretty annoying to hear that the United old boys club will still be a part of the backroom staff. Carrick and Phelan are better off at Newcastle or a club of similar caliber

Rangnick is not here for a long term deal, he is here for 6 months, he wasn't a manager in his previous post.
He doesn't have an abundance of coaches that can follow him, they are all probably in job, which they wont quit for a 6 month role.
Also, Carrick and the like might benefit from Rangnick, the club are giving them the opportunity to learn from the best.

When we get a permanent manager it will change. Don't really have a problem with the goalkeeping coach, he has got DDG back to near his best. Carrick and McKenna will learn a lot more under him than they ever would under Ole. Phelan I am not sure about at all.
So long as Ralf is telling them what to do, we should be alright.

Rangnick is here for six months, he's been out of management for two years with most of his usual coaching staff tied up with jobs at other clubs. Was obvious this would happen. Shame about the visa hold up - hope it doesn't take as long as Varane's did.
That's nice for them but we are not a coaching academy, although we might have made that impression the last couple of years. The sooner we get rid of them the better.
He was calling Ole a fraud as early as the beginning of last season and was getting ridiculed for it. Turns out he was spot on.
Get in. Come on Ralf, whip these lads into shape. 
Carrick and Mckenna have been coaching staff since before Ole. Carrick may well have some good pedigree with helping players and Mckenna did stellar work with our academy prior to Jose.
When will people learn, they have feck all to do with Ole. And they likely wont be in Rangnicks ear, they will be more distant to where they were with Ole. That sort of downgrade is fair enough, but suggesting they should all be shown the door is extreme.
Interesting Ramsay not mentioned and I've not seen him lately. Looks like he's left.
You shouldn’t be surprised if the old coaching team remains. Ralf is only in the role for 6 months and the 2-3 guys he‘ll probably bring with him probably won’t feature part of whoever the new manager will be.
Rangnick is quite hands on approach manager so it doesn’t matter if Carrick and co are staying. If he deems them not good enough then he will replace them.
Anyway I hope Rangnick is blunt and brutally honest in his assessment of our coaches. If he feels they aren't up to scratch I hope he makes it clear to the board, and I hope the board take his advice. Roy Keane is spot on, this job for the boys culture at United is every bit as to blame for our regression as anything else in the last several years.

He doesn't seem involved much to me these days but maybe his work being the scenes is really irreplaceable.
I hope after the assessment, he will give them new role of toilet cleaner.

I can see how well Carrick absorbed Mourinho's pragmatism, for better or worse.
Carrick and McKenna are still young coaches and were given too much responsibility too soon imo. They will benefit from learning under a more hands on coach and teacher in Rangnick.
I think because of the nature of Rangnick's appointment being an interim one, it's not surprising that the club wants to retain the coaching staff for continuity, it's a temporary arrangement, and Rangnick is expected to be a hands on trainer anyway, so they will just be assistants in that regard, next season I expect the new manager to bring his own staff, and as been reported, Rangnick will be personally involved in the selection process of the new manager, so I expect help to consult the club in bringing backroom staff in case the new manager does not have enough staff that he can bring on his own, from football coaches, GK coaches, fitness coaches, and so..
Why? Why is it an issue if he sees them as capable coaches who operated under a poor head coach?

Not sure. Some United journos a few days ago said yes but Russian media said he'd be staying to oversee the job Rangnick is leaving.
Yeah like 10 years ago. Football has changed since then, and he regressed after leaving United, ending up in Australia.
