Wonder if Tucker wishes he'd have waited another week or two to sign that new contract. Would he be sending out feelers to ND, OU, etc.?
I think he's comfortable there and probably realizes he wouldn't have gotten the kind of inflated pay he's receiving now, at another school.

What’s driving this? The transfer portal? Interesting nobody is bringing up tampering.
Its an inflation contagion. Once word spread about Tucker's deal at MSU, subsequent bigger programs were forced to up their offers, which resulted in ridiculous money being thrown around. USC's deal with Riley apparently involves a free $6m home and unlimited family access to a corporate jet. Kelly's deal is allegedly in the $15m/yr range (Saban only makes $9.75m), and the likes of Notre Dame are now going to have to cough up more to get their guy. Miami is about to offer Mario Cristobal this weekend and that offer has allegedly had to been raised from the previous 6m to now some where in the 9m range.

I guess between NIL and gambling being normalized which inflates the value of NFL franchises even more, the money is flowing even more than usual.

edit: and the playoff expansion, telling the NCAA to feck off, SEC super-conference, etc.

Whens the last time Michigan has won a national title? 1997?

There are several in your tier 2 including Tennessee who have won national titles since Michigan last won one.

Michigan are tier 2.
Tennessee won 1 season after. If you take the position that both schools were tier 1 as of the 98 season, here is how it looks since.

Michigan 210-92 70%
Tennessee 165-121 58%

Michigan 3 conference championships with a chance for 4 this weekend
Tennessee 0 conference championships 3 division championships

Michigan 7 BCS equivalent bowls plus another this year
Tennessee 1 BCS equivalent bowl

Michigan 9 10 win seasons
Tennessee 4 10 win seasons

Michigan 19 winning seasons
Tennessee 14 winning seasons

Michigan has been markedly better, even in the worst stretch since Bump Elliot

Most definitely. Even if you bump the year up to 2007, when Tennessee last hit double digit wins, it's massively lopsided.

Tennessee since 2007
5-7, 7-6, 6-7, 5-7, 5-7, 5-7, 7-6, 9-4, 9-4, 4-8, 5-7, 8-5, 3-7, 7-5

Michigan since 2007
3-9, 5-7, 7-6, 11-2, 8-5, 7-6, 5-7, 10-3, 10-3, 8-5, 10-3, 9-4, 2-4*, 11-1

Everyone does it wrong, in my experience.
Never made a soggy nacho plate.

The key is to bake in layers with the protein going on last. Also, all wet toppings (guac, pico, etc.) are on the side in bowls and are to be added to your individual plate like a proper civilized human.

Freeman seems to be the popular pick

Not college football, but this is quality from the coach. Surprised my basketball coach never thought of this…

Hearing some weird, wild stuff on the OU job. Dabo Sweeney for the head gig instead of Venables…or Matt Rhule…I kind of believe Joe C our AD when he says you wouldn’t believe the people reaching out to him, but still.

One name that isn’t part of the OU family that keeps coming up is Lanning, the DC from Georgia.

If it's Dabo I think @Carolina Red may ban you out of spite rage.

Well, to be fair, he thought he had another elite QB. I think DJ's performance this year is one of the most shocking storylines of the entire NCAA season. I don't even want to think about Venables leaving. It would hurt the program more than Dabo leaving.

As to Radokovich... he can kick rocks. Completely unrelated to football, but he made multiple promises to the wrestling coaches in South Carolina about bringing wrestling back to Clemson after the cut the program after the 1994-1995 season and at every single opportunity that he's had to bring wrestling back to Clemson and fulfill what he told us, he's failed to do so.
He's coming home.

He's checked out, as is his OC who is becoming a head coach elsewhere. They also have a terrible, brainless dual threat QB.
I’m telling you, PAC-12 is ripe for the taking. Convinced Riley is gonna get SC the PAC-12 championship next season.

Yes, I think we'll see a pretty swift swing towards USC next year. Everyone else will struggle against a Riley coached team.
