MUTV coverage is embarrassing. Someone currently talking about United needing to make sure that they win the group tomorrow... Host doesn't correct him.
I thought we had won the group but, then can't remember what article I read something about needing a point. If we are level with Villareal, it's head to head tie breaker first ?

After RR's presser I'm guessing Maguire and Bruno wont be playing as apparently Matic will be Captain, and he's confirmed Van de Beek and Henderson will start, so new prediction.

As much as we complain about some of these players, what a quality second XI (bar Fred) we have!

This but I'd rest Fred for Norwich and play McTominay, and put Wan Bissaka at RB as I think Dalot will start vs Norwich after being solid last few games.

    Henderson
    AWB--Bailly--Lindelof--Telles
    McTominay--Matic
    VdB--Lingard
    Greenwood--Elanga

Subs: de Gea, Heaton; Dalot, Maguire, Shaw; Fred, Fernandes, Mata; Diallo, Sancho, Rashford

If Lingard isn't fit enough then I'd start Amad in that position

If it is the kids, they aren’t being given the weather to showcase themselves. Biblical rain already locally and not expected to shift all day!

Telles played 4 games in the last 2 weeks, I think he should be rested if Shaw is fit, and if AWB is fit, then he should play too, so Dalot can rest.

Telles & Dalot should retain their starting spot vs Norwich in the league, hence why I am guessing Shaw & AWB to start tonight

    My predictions are: -
    Henderson

    AWB Bailly Lindelof Shaw

    Mctominay Matic

    Lingard VdB

    Elanga Greenwood

Hoping to see Amad given chance.

Who would've thought this would be a dead rubber in our favor after such a calamitous start in the group stage?

Ready to see some wholesale changes and I hope other youngsters like Diallo get a run out.

They probably won't be able to start but hoping Cavani and Shaw get some minutes.

    Henderson
    AWB, Bailly, CB?, Telles
    Matic, VdB
    Amad, Lingard
    Greenwood, Elanga

Bah! If they are too soft to cope with the Manchester climate there’s no hope for them

Looking at some of the embargoed comments, it seems that a second XI plays to get used to Rangnick's football and get us ahead in the match, before a number of the kids will be given a chance second half.

Yeah, I was watching Stretford Paddock last night and they seemed to be suggesting this. Should be interesting.

I think it's far giving most of the squad playing time to get used to Rangnick's playing style, but I will be disappointed if Mata starts. Absolutely pointless. Play Amad instead.

Mata should not even be at the club.
    Phil Jones, too.

    Greenwood- Elanga
    Mata-Lingard
    Matic-Donny
    Shaw-Bailly-Lindelof-AWB
    Henderson

Bit worried about the legs in that middle square with Mata, Matic and Donny not the most energetic. Perhaps a solution would be to have Mata push up and one of Elanga or Greenwood drop into the space from time to time. Allows them to dribble and play one twos with Mata.

    Looking forward to this game!

What's this about the lineup being leaked?

EDIT: nevermind - I got caught out by Howson's click-baity video title.

It hasn't? Just Rangnick has provided enough hints for most people to figure out the likely XI. Final clue will be the UEFA Youth League squad announced this afternoon.

I think you’ve got it right. I’d imagine a raft of changes at half time as well.

Paddy hasn't leaked the team yet with his sauces inside the club

Maybe the club has sniffed out the wrong-un and sacked them. Hopefully because it gives the opposition an unfair advantage.

We've been over this so many times now. He only ever leaks the team after teamsheets have been submitted, so it is more than likely someone with just media privileges not respecting the embargo.

Basically Ronaldo refused to play EL, took us ahead vs Villarreal, last minute equaliser Atalanta (and other goal), late winner vs Atalanta, last minute winner Villarreal...

They are out so I think it'll be a nice game for our second string, I'd love to see some of the youth guys come on as well.

@Niall Hate to nitpick but can we get an updated image for the Lineup Predictions widget on the main page. Ole pointing is grating on my nerves for some reason.
Yeah will do (at some point :))

Zero point playing Mata, but he will start.

Surprised at those they have put into the squad.. Hardley Savage and Mather, seem really left field.

Greenwood Elanga and Amad should all start

Who were you expecting for them to put in over them?

Hardley has been as good as Mengi if not better this season. They are also the only two u23s CBs anyway.

Savage started the season in great form before his injury. The only other option for CM is Svidersky and Savage has been easily better this season.

Mather has already been in the u23s plenty and clearly rated as the top 1st at the club along with Mainoo so not surprising either.

Super pumped for the game today. Finally a game we can go into with a bit of wind in our sails.

I keep hearing mention of the weather. What is the forecast for todays game? I might need to lower my score prediction.

Even by Manchester standards it's been incredibly wet and windy for the last 4 or 5 days.

    Pretty miserable conditions.
