They are singing about a bloke who was the manager of UTD that had the worst result in their history. I'm sorry, but I can't forgive Ole for that 5-0 battering. It could have been avoided if he didn't try to be clever. Not only that, but conceding 9 goals against them in the last 2 home games is worse than worse.

The scousers will always be singing 5-0 every time they come to OT, and those pathetic fans will still be singing Ole songs. Pathetic!

It’s hard to have a particular opinion on the subject for the fear of being loaned at for moaning.

To be fair, it is a bit strange as it comes across as supporting a manager who was sacked over the new manager.

Don't people on here always talk about giving support? Would it not make more sense to support the new manager?

It's definitely pretty cringe given the context and recent circumstances. No one's disputing Ole's status as a club legend for his playing career but fans being oblivious or ignoring the damage his managerial career has done to this club is really baffling to me.

Wow you lot are sensitive. I don't mind the one off chant, but throughout the whole match.

The wheel chant is pure cringe though and it became cringe quite early on.

I've not heard the ole song sung that much prior to his being appointed and sacked as manager.

Tbf I stopped going go OT for a bit. Went under LVG and then odd matches after. Usually cup games.

The main songs I heard were U N I T E D and the cantona song. Other songs were associated with those on the pitch.

I have no problem singing about past players but, for me anyway, this doesn't seem to be just that. But whatever have at it.

On a wider point I think for me there are certain things that have happened which people try and pass of as "normal" when I personally think it's often just a culture we seem to be getting into in this country. A culture of can't let go. A culture of picked a side, gonna die by it.

Yeah maybe overthinking it but seems to be everywhere from Brexit to BLM to taking the knee to whatever.

I think its the line who put the ball in the german net and with RR being German think its an insult towards him, but you rightly say its been a song for 20 odd years

Let the top reds whine all they want, people will always sing Ole songs. He's a United legend. What kind of clown lets one season outside the top 4 taint their memory of a legend forever anyway? Especially when the club was in a crisis long before Ole took over.

Go ahead and name 49 better players then. Go ahead and name the United players that scored the winning goal in a CL final. Go ahead and name the United players that have more than 126 goals and 50 assists for the club, whilst being a sub for a lot of them goals and assists.

The Cantona song is unreal.

I almost passed out from roaring it on Thursday night. Although that might also have been all the booze as well - landing at 7:40am for an 8:15pm kick off was a terrible idea.

I haven't seen any complaints on here. Did the fans sing the Ole song every game before he became manager? It's been consistently sung since he's been sacked, and I didn't really notice it that much before. I might be wrong, but I do think it comes off a bit weird. Ole knows at the very least the match going fans will always love him. They don't have to sing the song every game to show that they're loyal to him.

So do you want me to answer my own claim or the extras you put on top to make these relevant?

126 goals, he top 10?

He scored a winning goal of very big importance to us. Proud of that but it doesn’t make you a United ‘god’ Koeman did that and it’s like Solskjaer is bigger than him. Makes no sense.

The fans who sing about Ole aren't trying to imply that he was wrongfully sacked. And those same fans will be 100% behind Ralf.

We have a large segment of (largely online, yes) fans who simply don't get the mindset of match goers at all. They don't understand the culture of their own club's core fans - it's an interesting phenomenon actually (extremely annoying at times, but definitely interesting).

You literally have no clue what it is to be a United fan.

Tell me again now RVP contributed more to United than Ole .

I've been Ole out since day one he took the job, but fans singing his name is not an issue whatsoever.

They aren't singing his name due to his feats as a manager, but rather as a player. A distinction that was really hard to grasp for many during his tenure..

One of the reasons why Man United is such a great club is how we treat our players when they are here.
I would go as far to say that no other club in the world has that to our extent.
We have songs for cult players, iconic players and everything in between and it's one of the reasons why this club remains in the hearts of so many ex staff and players when they leave.

Barring judases, any ex man united player will get a song and the man who scored maybe our most iconic goal in the club's history is perfectly entitled to one. Solidarity to him after what must be a difficult time for him is what Man united are all about as a club.

I too was Ole out (imo should have left after the EL final), but he, like any other ex player of the club will always have a place in the fans' hearts.

Imagine if you saw Ole in the street, would you give him shit? No, you'd show him appreciation for everything he did as a player, despite how his managerial stint ended.

RVP’s one season it better than Ole’s whole entire United career.

Where I’m from close to my age can’t nobody tell us different. If your older than 40 then maybe it’s different and fair play to you guys.
