He's the box-to-box midfielder that England have been craving for years.
Not sure about that but he’s a welcome addition. A lot of the time Gallagher looks like an honest clogger. I’m sure he’ll play for England but once he’s established he’ll have plenty of detractors. Bellingham is a similar player but with greater technical ability.

I think they're both capable of sharing that role.

Chelsea fans - if Conor was supposed to replace a player in your first 11 team at his very best, who would it be?

I like the look of him as a player a great deal but Jesus it's easy to get a callup under horse face.

He'd play in Mount's position in our formation. But I'd rather have Mount playing regularly so I'd just rotate him in when Mason is not fresh.

So possibly swap Barkley for Gallagher?

Sounds doable.

Good, like seeing nice young players develop and Tuchel has given alot at Chelsea the chance/recharge compared to normal.

I think this call up was always going to happen eventually, said it since I was watching him play for Charlton.

The speed that he’s adapted and thrived in the Premier League has been phenomenal though— wouldn’t be surprised if he keeps this spot in the England squad permanently.

While he’s created and scored a lot this season though, it’s how well rounded he is that really makes him valuable. We’ve got quite a few attacking midfielders already, as mentioned above it’s been the centre that’s been lacking. Rice, Bellingham and Gallagher sounds very interesting.

No better game to get off to a good start than San Marino.

His technical game isn’t up to Chelsea standards right now in my opinion, his greatest asset is his energy and I think his impact on us is a bit like Kante’s at Leicester where it’s like having two midfielders, one minute he’s making tackles on the edge of our box and the next he’s pressing the opposition goalkeeper, and it’s relentless for 90 minutes. Would he get that kind of freedom in Tuchel’s system do you think?

I still hold out some hope that he would prefer to play every week and come back on loan next season, it’s clearly working for him and I think with another season behind him he has a really good shot of going back to you as a bonified first team player. I know he’s a Chelsea boy so maybe a rotational role is enough for him…we’ll see I suppose.

I’m curious to know which element of his technical game you don’t think is up to Chelsea’s standards?

After all, you don’t need to be elite at EVERYTHING to earn a place in a top team. He’s about as well rounded as they come though, and technique seems very good in most aspects from what I’ve seen.

While this is true, he definitely deserves to be considered on form. We don’t have many CMs and I’m sick of the Hendersons being called up even when they’re injured.

He is still rough but he has developed at an incredible rate. For every loan, he has adapted and impressed. Maybe a call up can push his level further.

People love his work rate and desire. There have been a lot of players for England you can accuse of lacking those qualities. Let’s see how he does if given the chance.

Are we sure Conor Gallagher isnt just Tod Cantwell after a slight makeover and a namechange?

Think he's all but assured to be getting the Barkley minutes next season. His versatility as another 8/10 hybrid is very nice to have - especially as Tuchel likes to tweak our shape in game depending on what the opposition are doing.

It's got to be more than that. I imagine Kante will continue to start around 20-25 league games as he has the previous 2 seasons. A healthy rotation between Gallagher/Jorginho/Kante/Kovacic/RLC and Gallagher/Mount/Havertz could work in theory. I could potentially see him usurping RLC in the pecking order but my honest gut feeling is that Gallagher will come back and look around, see the immense competition in the middle of the park and probably request a transfer.

I think an honest conversation between Gallagher and Tuchel is on the cards.

I think the mid season world cup will be factored in too.

Kante will be going, Jorgi you would think still will and while Gallagher may do aswell he will likely be going just as a rotation player.

With the age of the former two they will probably need heavy rotation especially after that tournament.

Yeah should have clarified - think the Barkley minutes are more or less the floor of what he would get next season, with the potential for more.

I am still kinda hoping the mid-season world cup works in our favour you know, there's obviously zero chance we can sign him permanently but I am sure he's going to want to be playing as many minutes as possible to get in the world cup squad. He's guaranteed that with us at least.

Have to say, proper love the bloke you know, going to be a sad day when he leaves. Can't you sign Rice and flog Gallagher to us? Does the Spammers over too so we're both happy.

I don’t really see us going for Rice, it was more Franks personal transfer target than the clubs. But also don’t really see him being similar to Gallagher.

He will definitely be loaned out again even if he manages 10 league goals. At the moment we just don’t have room to accommodate him and he isn’t the finished product so they won’t make that space for him either.

That being said, if you keep up your form there is the chance he would go straight back to you. If you don’t it is certain to be a top 10 club. Each loan has been progressively more challenging to him, this loan is considered a low premier league team move. The next step is a mid table team.

Yeah I could see that working in theory. I just have doubts about Gallagher's willingness to be a rotational option, 4h choice at best situation, especially if he himself has aspirations to be part of the world cup squad, which he undoubtedly will.

He's been patient enough, which is why I think an honest conversation with the manager is on the cards. We don't know how highly Tuchel values his talent compared to the current players in the squad. So it's stick or twist decision time next summer. I doubt Gallagher will want to entertain yet another loan move.

I’d swap him out for Lingard in a heartbeat. Has a great attitude and I seriously doubt he would start a clothing line. We need footballers who want to play football.

Arsenal got what, £25m for Willock? I can see Chelsea easily getting around 40 for Gallagher

Was reading something recently that said they plan on him being a first team regular next season.

That was a terrible deal for Newcastle, Willoock was overrated based on the goals. Callagher in comparison has a very good all round game.

I worked with his aunt, amount of money he was on before 18 was crazy, then he got his new deal and bought his family house and a mercedes straight away.

Get's a PAYG card from Nike every season as well with very healthy balance on it.

It will be a tough decision if there is indeed a clause. On one hand I could see him challenging for serious minutes as things stand now at Chelsea. On the other … he’s getting invaluable development for the long term at Chelsea as the “star of the show” at CP this season. Not sure you want to derail that.

Do Chelsea want to sell him?
No, Gallagher also wants to come back and play for Chelsea.

"Rio [Ferdinand] done an interview with him [Conor Gallagher], and he told me that after the interview Conor told him "when you present the interview, make sure to state I want to go back to Chelsea, that I'm not in the shop window."
