All the ability but suffers from being extremely lazy on the field.

I'm not convinced he will ever reach his potential because of this poor approach to his play.
Think he's not really the brightest of footballers, blessed with ability but very poor understanding on the field and I wonder if he's hungry to improve.

At just 20 yrs old, there’s still plenty of time for Mason to develop and to be properly coached and moulded into a more rounded player.
He clearly is talented and possesses good skills, but if the club don’t get a grip on this soon, the opportunity will have gone

In a few games this season, he’s shown glimpses of his ability in deeper midfield, by fighting for the ball, dribbling and driving forward our midfield play, showing good ball skill and passing ability; but these have just been occasional moments and not a consistent feature of his game.
He needs to be showing this fight and determination up front and all over the pitch.
The general laziness and lack of off the ball involvement persist, which the previous manager and coaching staff should have come down on like a ton of bricks.

With the right coaching and motivation, he might fulfil the early promise we all got excited about.
If not, there’s no room for sentiment at this level.
Academy product or not, shouldn’t come into it.

Great potential if coached right. Under Ole, I think he was instructed to shoot on sight, so he needs to coax that out of his game to become smarter. In general though, my issue is less on his intelligence and more on his off-the-ball application. Like many of our players, I feel like he doesn't run enough or correctly. Playing with Cavani would really help I think. I'd probably play Sancho and Greenwood behind Ronald and Cavani with Donny and Matic or Donny and Fred/McTominay against Burnley.

Apart from sometimes lacking effort every other shortfall can be put down to being 20.

It's not Ole or anything else. This is what 20 year old footballers(with a very few, rare examples) look like guys.

He looks like how Martial was at 20. I just hope he'll be better than Martial currently is at 25

Not every player develops like Rooney.

A slight concern about Masons development. When he first broke into the team he looked like scoring every opportunity. Now he rarely looks like scoring. I feel he needs to play more centrally ASAP.

I think Greenwood is better suited to playing up front in this system. I only like him centrally when he can be goal oriented if that makes sense.

Didn't really notice him much was 100% sure he was going to put his chance away though but alas.

Mature performance. I'm Marcus' biggest fan but this lad is just the more complete player, therefore more consistently.

If "Lord Southgate" won't pick him for the WC he should be sacked. Such a good option to have in your squad.

He's basically our best attacker at the moment. Can keep possession and also has a threat in one v ones.

I just wish he'd kept his right foot. Shame that seems to have gone to waste a bit now.

He was fine, a bit sloppy at times and snatched at his chances, but to me looked more of a consistent threat than Sancho. Still not sure of his natural position and I think that's becoming an issue for his development. Whatever the consensus says, I don't see him as a striker at all but he needs to widen his skillset to become a reliable wide forward.

Did pretty well until the 60 minute or so, and looked threatening. And then he seemed to ran out of gas completely.

A couple of greedy moments aside he was decent, not sure this creator role suits him long term though.

Don’t know if it was just my perception, but first half especially when on the ball moving forward seemed to be looking for anyone but Ronaldo to pass to. Could have played him in a couple of times but chose a more difficult or backwards pass instead.

Decent game, do like him and Sancho switching around. But, there was one moment that was really perplexing from him, was running across midfield, a clear pass out to the left was available but, for some reason decided to play it backwards - commentator even said RR turned away in disgust. Made no sense why he chose to do that.

Should definitely be in the team, he is one of the only players we have that looks after the ball. Ronaldo is undroppable it seems, but I think Cavani and Greenwood would make a great pair up front.

There seems to be a really good appreciation between the two, and they regularly link up to good effect. The next step in Greenwood's development is all on the physical side for me.

I want to see that aggression, that explosivness and hard running for 90 mins. Think he needs to bulk up, but I feel like the technical side to his game is nicely refined at the moment.

The way he spreads the play is very good, something he started doing it often this season. Very good attribute to have.

Shame he isn't goal threat as he used to be, rarely gets into good shooting position.

Cavani is taking the "big bro" role to Greenwood, which is nice to see.

He's becoming much more refined, rarely gives the ball away
I’ve noticed that too — both his and Sancho’s pass completion percentage puts them in the 84th percentile according to FBref.com.

Compare that to Fernandes, who is in the 45th percentile(!), and Rashford in the 67th.

The ball to Sancho before the 3rd goal was great.

It was an obvious pass but it didn't seem like anyone one wanted to make it before that ball got to Greenwood.

Pass completion means nothing if they are all sideways or backwards. Bruno’s passing is all about forward attacking momentum, and he isn’t afraid to try a difficult through all to make something happen.
I don’t see why we need to use one players stats to bash another player. Mason is great but so is Bruno, I am proud both are United players.

What good is ‘forward attacking momentum’ if there’s no variation to his game? Lumped inaccurate passes offer less to a side than actually circulating the ball with accurate passes. There needs to be a blend, which Fernandes quite clearly needs to add to his game.

Mature performance but I really don't like him as far away from goal as he was at the most of times last night.

I don’t think the Interim manager would agree with you. Neither do I.

Had a good game. One of only a few. Also about the only player with some kind of energy. Everyone else looks like they are sleepwalking
