No idea how that second goal went down as an OG. I've seen bigger deflections than that attributed to the player who took the shot.
Usually it's because they've judged that the ball wouldn't have gone into the goal if it hadn't taken a deflection.

There are probably hundreds of thousands watch worse than that each week around the world. Stop being such a princess.
Fans being happy with performances like that has led us here. The club has settled for this mediocrity.

Learn to enjoy a win, you'll feel much better for it.
That’s what we were told when people raised concerns about performances under Ole. Ultimately, shit performances catch up with you.

Slightly flattering scoreline, defending was a bit dodgy at times, they just switch off randomly, and while there was some pressing we didn't have the intensity I would have liked. Promising signs we were able to keep it for more than 30 seconds though and was good to see McTominay getting forward more, going to be a slow process.

Drop Maguire for Varane and AWB for Dalot and it could have been more solid, suspect just Dalot comes in on Monday though, Maguire being captain is above rotation which is hampering us. He and AWB are going to have to turn into world beaters for it to not look like bad business the fees we paid.

Unbeaten under RR, you wouldn't believe it though by some of the grumps on here

Better than midweek. 3 points and 3 goals.. we took our foot of the gas in 2nd half but I thought we controlled the 2nd half better than the first.
why can’t McTominay play with that energy every week.
shaw look better than Telles.
i thought Eric did ok but Maguire is so easily beaten on the ground it’s getting embarrassing.
can only think DVB had bad covid as it was a game for him to at least come on.?????
DvB was on the bench. He wouldn't be on the bench if he had COVID.

Unfortunately, RR is not giving him chances, either, which means DvB will be gone soon. Really a shame, if you ask me. Clearly DvB is a good player, and every time he did come on, he played very well this season, so–hard to understand why second manager now keeps not rating him. Burnley game was the perfect game to play DvB and yet he wasn't trusted, again.

It was definitely a much better performance even though we kinda switch off during the second half. Not sure if this has been posted before, but during the post match interview, MCT mentioned Rangnick told the players to improve on their body language and I think this is great if true. There are so many times I seen our players whingeing, heads down, walking about looking totally disinterested and mentally this can affect your team mates.

And MCT seems to be getting better with each and every match. Especially playing more forward. So happy for him and hopefully he can continue improving. Of all our youth players, he is the one that I want him to succeed the most.

Bit mourinho like the performance, lots of sitting off and dropping back waiting for Burnley to give the ball away. Then quite direct with our own build up.

Got the result but not the most convincing and not particuly something to get excited about. Hopefully just a product of the situation with covid and not alot of time between games.

I think that over the last few months our confidence has been eroded to zero, there may be many reasons for this including the players themselves, I think the embarrassing results against City and in particular Pool are still reverberating in the players minds, right now we look like a team playing with no belief who capitulate as soon as things start to go against them, the Burnley performance typified this, we looked so timid at times even when we were 3 goals to the good, if you compare our performance last night to the kind of performances we see city and pool putting in, even Chelsea and Spurs there is a gulf of difference, there is no cohesion or dominance, we won 3-1 but the score could have easily been 3-3 (or 6-3 if Ronaldo was on it)

We need a run of luck and Ralf to try and get the players believing in themselves again, Ralf needs to settle on a formation and system and drill it into the players

Same shit being said before Ole got sacked. Performances didn’t matter because we won. Except they do matter because eventually luck runs out.

The three points is the main talking point, and all that really matters now, but in all honesty we looked rather shit. Poor ball movement and few chances created against a hoofer side.

Bailly got stick for the dispossession, but it was Maguire’s schoolboy defending that once again denied us a clean sheet.

Our current performances are the sort that when we do lose an upcoming game it won't be a surprise to anyone, regardless of if we have won the previous 3 or 4. Unfortunately that's just the level we're at right now, it's hard to make changes/develop while going through a lot of games in quick succession but hopefully we see small improvements each time.

Most worrying thing for me is how open we were. There were times when Burnley literally had a whole half to run into unopposed. If we’re going to play this system we have to have our defence high up to protect the space otherwise we will be massacred. And a big part of that is having fast center backs to cover in case someone plays the ball behind. But continuing with this formation and including Maguire is an absolute recipe for disaster when we play better sides. I really hope Ralf sees that and that with some actual proper training we can really start improving.

Bit worrying we didnt press that much. Kicking long then at goal kicks. We took our foot off the gas in the second half and had better control of the game. But i dont know, in the long term if we play like this we are in trouble.

Step by step process. Klopp didn't come in and have immediate success. It took a while for the players to truly grasp the system. Give him a few months to work on these muppets and we might see more of his style in the play.

I had the feeling watching the game last night that Ralf asked them to go back to basics and not to push the pressing and to not play out from the back, to avoid bringing unnecessary pressure.

They are obviously really struggling to transition to the new style mid-season. We haven’t seen a concerted effort to press since that first half against Palace and they were playing out from the back which helped us press in a way.

People at Old Trafford are miserable as feck in my experience. And that was when we were good. You can keep your head buried in the sand if you like.

I notice when the opposition misses a half chances it's one they should have scored and when United misses chances be it their miss or a gk save, that counts for nothing. Who was Burnley's MOTM?

Nah thanks mate,

I prefer to enjoy my football, I'll carry on doing so with like-minded people, thankfully.

Could only watch the first half and based on the comments won't bother to replay the 2nd. Thought it wasn't too bad. Maguire with a couple sloppy moments, Shaw showed he is levels above Telles. AWB did nothing noteworthy in that half. Cavani ditto. McT was good.

Overall satisfactory half, but the pressing was not consistent and nowhere near the levels of vs palace. Work in progress.

Yeah and how dumb is it to kick long onto the head of Tarkowski? Sometimes I think we are clueless.

It was a win, but I don't see any issue with being concerned with the performance. Burnley still had quite a lot of chances to score, and, to be honest, there wasn't anywhere near enough difference in level of performance between Manutd and Burnley.

I still don't think we controlled the game at any point, which isn't great. There needs to be a big improvement against Wolves and Aston Villa, or we may be played off the park again.

Best part was McT breaking from midfield on a number of occasions, and of course his goal.

Ever since the days of Duncan Edwards, we've always had a mid fielder who can make those late and/or surging runs into the box, Wilkins, Daly, Robson, Keane, Scholes, to name some of the outstanding ones; once McTominay adds that to his game on a regular basis, his career and hopefully United fortunes, will flourish

Scott looks more confident in playing the 'breaking forward' role when he knows Matic is behind him covering, but when he's partnered with Fred his first look often has to be to check where Fred is, this fractional delay quite often stops him making the run. Whilst the McFred duo works well sometimes, this is one of the downside issues.

It was definitely better with the tempo better and us looking to make forward passing even though Burnley had quite a few chances themselves. McTominay was definitely MOTM in a more advanced role and Shaw and Sancho both looked threatening down the left.
