    Appreciate the debates today.

Hope we win and have a decent performance.

Enjoy the game peeps and let's hope for a good run of results now.

Jonesy still has 18 months of his contract left.
Will be interesting how the club approach that, as we very rarely just release players, as seen with Mata, who hasn't done much for about 3 or 4 years now but keeps getting renewed.

A 1-0 win would be an outstanding result against Wolves considering they don't concede more than 1 goal even against City and Liverpool. And the whole team will need to play well to get the win. Ralph's first real big test.

even a goal off Fred's bum or a dodgy VAR call.

Clear goal-scoring chances will be few in this match. The difference will be which team and players can take the chances they get. So United need our best finishers in the team to take advantage of the few chances we will get.

Matic against Traore? It will a massacre.
Yeah, I don't think anyone in our team can physically challenge Traore, what we need to do is have someone fast enough to show him onto his left foot.

Won’t be easy. The Bitters only beat Wolves with the worst penalty award this century. I feel a draw coming in.

They could play it another time, it's difficult but not impossible.

    Health and safety more important.

Already they have cancelled warm up games because squads are full of covid in the last couple of days.

It's just madness and it's all about money
It's already been postponed once and no, it can't be played during the summer because of the West African climate. Africa in general is very hard to play football during the summer as North/East Africa it's hitting 50 degrees in most places while in West/South it's monsoon season. Liverpool are losing Salah and Mane, City are losing Mahrez, Chelsea are losing Mendy, Arsenal are losing Partey, West Ham are losing Benrahma all of those players have played more minutes than Bailly this season and are of more importance to their teams.

I'd say we probably have an advantage compared to our competitors not vice versa. Stop complaining.

United might need the same, but won't be so lucky as City to get a lucky penalty. VAR will overrule it if we did.

One of my least favourite fixtures. 2 of the leagues most boring teams but hopefully Rangnick is changing that

It is down to race. The Euros wont be in January because UEFA is not going to play it in January. To me the only issue of AFCON is that they do not play in every 4 years but every two years. The African countries have every right to expect that their best players are available to play for their countries so they may win something.
People are annoyed at their players missing not at the tournament itself and not because of their ethnicity. I get the schedule suits European clubs etc with our summer being the ‘best’ time for international football. That clearly doesn’t suit African football and it doesn’t suit next years World Cup either.

What needs to happen is that FIFA and the other governing bodies need to find some a calendar that reflects the modern makeup of the top European squads.

This is why we give Jones that new contract. We knew this day would come

In all honesty, I hope he plays and plays well. Deserves to get that monkey off his back.

Phil Jones has gone through a tough time with injuries but he has in no way go through "hell". People going through life threatening illnesses and struggling to pay bills go through hell.
This is an awful statement that has no place in the world. You can’t negate one persons issues to suit your point. Everything is relative.

Or the top European squads can just stop with the exceptionalism and just accept that the whole world shouldn’t bend over backwards to suit them

Phil Jones is trending worldwide on Twitter.

Says it all about the state of this club.
What does it say about the state of this club? Whichever way you look at it, he's employed by the club to play football for the club, nothing can change that. The club are damned if they do play him and damned if they don't. We can help players having covid and injuries.

Says it all about the state of the human community as well.
    100% agree.

I would love to see Jones play and have a solid game. Should have been a legend for club and country but flew too close to the sun and his wings melted. Wait....I need to lay off the Maiden. Best of luck, Philip. Whatever happens.

i hope Jones starts. He’s a defender right? Can’t be worse than Maguire
Is he? We've seen so little of him in past 5 years he could have transformed into the world class defensive midfielder we badly need for all we know

What the hell have I missed with Phil Jones...

We're clearly putting his name out there to attract a buyer surely.

With Lindelof, Bailly and Maguire all out (according to rumours) then it leaves us with Jones to partner Varane. However, Rangnick did start Matic at LCB in the CL against Young Boys and could do the same today, with Fred going back in the midfield to partner McTominay.

Dalot should come back in for Wan-Bissaka, who although wasn't particularly bad against Burnley, didn't do enough to remove Dalot from the starting XI. I do; however, think Shaw did enough, and I expect him to start, as I felt he and McTominay were our standout players in our last game.

I'd say the front four should remain the same. Not a massive fan of the system, but that's the most threatening we've been, regards our attacking play under Rangnick, so it should remain the same.

Hoping we kick off the new year with a win against a tough Wolves side.

That we may have our 3 other CBs out ? so its either him, a kid or a not-a-cb. Pick your poison.

That’s what I meant. Change the calendar to put AFCON first.
