Might be time to take a little break from watching us while Ralf figures it out. Maybe if we can move a few players on this Jan? It feels like it’s going to get worse before it gets better. I’m glad he’s got a few years upstairs to cut the players who are hiding in plain sight
In Austria/Germany we have a saying (Lieber ein Ende mit Schrecken, als ein Schrecken ohne Ende) that boils down to „rather a painful end than pain without end“. I find that quite fitting for the current situation.

Yeah not sure what the hysteria's about. I watched it in real time and nothing was particularly shocking.
All the hysteria and shock was created by Sky. I watched it live also and couldn’t believe Dave Jones? reaction. He had a list prepared!! FFS it was all visible on the pitch but with Ince & Redknapp in the studio you could probably excuse him for missing that.

Usually plays just say “the team lacked energy, motivation etc” Shaw clearly made a distinction amongst the players.

I don't think it is about split in dressing room. Never was. Some players are clearly not there to play for the team. They are there for their egos and are only there for money. The sooner we get rid of those pretenders the better. They thrown past managers under bus and they will keep doing that until club starts fining players for every lost game.
Very hard to argue with this

Sick of them. They get paid a fortune and need to stop being petulant children, get their head down and do their best. As for not liking the manager, why? Because he's asking them to work harder than they did under Solskjaer? Lazy pricks.

No problem with a bit of honesty from a player instead of the usual shite they spew out, but means feck all when the same performances go on week after week.
It's always the next game with these lads. They do interviews the same way they play, always waiting for it to click, instead of actually doing something about it while the fecking game is there to be won.

That's an interesting interview alright. All's not right in that squad.

He's right though in the premier league now if you're not working and running at 150% effort for the whole match (or can't) then you've no chance.

These players have survived as managers have come and gone. I wouldn't mind if they are all, with no exception, gone.

Refreshingly frank and honest interview. Ole has left an absolute mess.
If you ask me the rotten apples are obvious: Pogba, Rashford, Bruno and Ronaldo. Unfortunately they are also our best players and will cost a fortune to replace.
imagine watching that lot tonight and thinking Rashford is one of our best players.

I've just watched the interview and didn't think there was anything "wrong" or seriously off about it. He looked like a player who just lost a game. Dare I say it, he seemed ashamed. Nothing about it seemed off.

What the hell!? They are footballers that should get in line with what the manager wants them to do, what the hell has been happening that they want to dictate to the managers we have how they want to play and how much effort they want to give, it's absolutely shocking the entitlement in that dressing room. They should be working overtime to adapt to Ralf's new ideas, bunch of absolute wasters I cannot stand the fecking lot of them

Conte said it’s taken him 2 months to assess the spurs squad , give Ralf time ffs, yes we are shit but the moaning on here is getting boring
Son and Kane are better than most of our attackers and they are in their prime and on less than our lads. Now I’m not saying they have a better team than us but if they can keep it tight and get it to those two they can beat anyone on their day. Motivation seemed to be what was lacking there. Our team is just overrated and overpaid and lacking in too many key ingredients and chemistry. We have a multi billion pound organisation and we are totally depending on lads in their mid 30s. Says a lot about our lack of fresh ideas and level of ambition and also how little our young players have stepped up. They can’t seem to find the required consistency.

Yes, these last few years is death by 1000 cuts. False Dawns all over the shop. We’ve become Liverpool spice boys era and they took up where we left off. Hard working ballsy attacking football and finding bargains in the market. Fiery manager who demands total respect and control. We are miles off it.

As opposed to who? Unfortunately they are all awful at the moment. At least Rashford has been good in the past. What annoys me now is that he has become incredibly lazy and has a bad attitude.

Same old blah blah, not my fault comments. He’s been abhorrent at points this season & his fall off a cliff in form did for our previous manager whilst the previous 2 managers had things to say about his professionalism.

We’ve been collectively shite but Shaw has singularly been horrendous this season, ‘we have no intensity’, then fecking try harder!

Sounding very familiar to when SAF entered in the beginning, anyone who isn’t willing to actually earn their money and play for the sort can go, RR will see who is wants to play for the club and the incoming manager.

You got to wonder why @Livewire1974, presumably a United fan, starts a thread that gets half the forum to react negatively to something that didn't happen.

Then I guess you also have to wonder why half the forum gets outraged at something they didn't watch or read.

Shaw implies the front end did not provide enough options of passing the balls and intensity of pressing the opponents. Also interestingly, he thinks someone is not giving 100% .

If you really watched the game, I think he means Ronaldo. Could not hold the ball well , did not press well , did not fight for the 2nd ball or sprint for the 1st ball.

Honestly, Ronaldo should be the 1st one to sub off in this match. Greenwood actually was the best performer among the front 4 and no idea why he was subbed off first.

Honestly I'm pretty sure most of the leaks for the past few years come from Shaw least now he's being public with it
I've suspected it was Shaw for years. He's a clear leaker.

Always happens when he's not a first choice starter the chubby bastard.

You're just chatting bollocks, nowhere did he say it was not his fault, way to misrepresent what he said.

Luke should try and get his bodyfat level below 12% before he talks about intensity and effort.

I hope we're not living in a world where Luke Shaw can have a dig at Cristiano Ronaldo about professionalism.

feck Luke Shaw. Show us don't talk about it.

Firstly, calm down.

Secondly you’ve just misinterpreted my post to claim I did the same to Shaw. It’s all well speaking up when the team play badly, he’s been terrible at points this season in games but never popped his head above the parapet. It’s easy to say, ‘we lack intensity’ after tonight but he’s lacked it all season, he needs to up his game foremost.

Now wind your neck in & learn to discuss instead of foaming at the keyboard. So where did I say he said it wasn’t his fault? Oh I didn’t, you’re just making up strawman arguments because you’re upset we lost so need to lash out like a juvenile.

The midfield is a problem, but there is a chronic lack of desire and intensity from our attacking players that is so blatantly an issue.
It’s the miss match of the squad. The midfielders aren’t smart enough or good enough to give them the ball in dangerous areas
So attacking players either drop deep and easy to defend against
Or we end up like Newcastle with 7 attacking players all in a line across the 18 yard box, no one in midfield and Harry maguire thinking he’s prime Tom Brady trying to spray passes

I have a hunch that despite the shit results of Solskjaer, that some of these players including Shaw enjoyed a nice free ride under him… for far too long and now Ralf has come in and actually made them work, they’re probably having a culture shock.

Sorry Luke… when you blatantly feck up, Ralf isn’t going to tell you “Don’t worry Shawy that’s football! You lose some, You win some! United DNA and all that!“
I think this is most likely the case.

For many players, not only Shaw.

Exactly.

Typical ‘we’ comments when he has been woeful long before tonight. Where was he post match earlier in the season when him & fellow Chuckle Brother, Maguire were actively attempting to outdo each other in terms of mistakes week on week. . .

The idea of a cull sounds great, but the reality has always been that we won't be able to move numerous players on because absolutely no one they'd move to (Nobody wants to live and play in Newcastle), will take on their wage as well as paying the transfer fees for them.

Financially, it's a black hole that no non-oil club can withstand. In short, we're stuck with a number of players even if we want to show them the door.

We're really in a bog with this.

I’m sorry but Shaw needs to get lost, he’s one of the problems. couldn’t handle the fact that Rolf dropped him for Telles. Jose was right about him.
Jose was right about a lot of things of this football club and I was adamant that he should have been fully backed. Instead the club threw him scraps, told him to "deal with it" and when things went to shit - he got blamed for it. He wasn't perfect, but he was right about virtually everything.

Is it not just easier to talk about effort and aggression rather than what's actually wrong? Namely too many players who can't trap and pass a ball.

The latter is very difficult to say publically.

He wasn’t woeful tonight. He was good. As he has been in every game under Rangnick. Something we can say about very few players. And that was the context of the interview. It would have been fecking ridiculous of him to come out and say “First of all, I need to talk about how I played under the former manager…”
