Because I get bored and when I skipped most of season 4, at the end I still had a feel of what was going on which sums it up for me.

I agree though, I probably shouldn’t do that but curiosity and boredom get the better of me from time to time.
What a weird thing to do.

That's true of most shows. If you go to the end of Breaking Bad, Sopranos, The Wire - it'd be exactly the same. Strange analysis.

I thought it was a bit strange but it’s only when I’ve totally lost interest. I’ll never do it on the first series.

Doesn’t anyone else just get sick of these continuous Netflix programmes, I do, I just like to see how they end, fast forward, style:wenger:.

First season was great but 4 seasons is far too much, it’s like power when something goes above one season it becomes predicatable and like power you can kind of guess what happens.

I just generally think one season, 10 episodes is enough otherwise I find my self fast forwarding or skipping episodes (reading synopsis and moving on) like I did with season 2 and 3 and most of 4.
The plot being predictable and cheesy is part of the shows deliberately cringy charme.

Definitely, I even thought the comedic elements running through the series were enjoyable across the ages. I also commend how it almost leads with two lead characters where the audience can choose which one they like, with the undertone of the simple, never judge a book by its cover, analogy. Regardless of the fighting it’s a feel good cheese fest.

Essentially I can see why people don’t fast forward which is cemented by the beauty that is Larusso’s wife.

I'd delete them all and just have a show based on Johnny going on a road trip.
Quick, wish for a midfielder and a seven-player clearout in January. Also maybe wish for an extension of your newfound psychic powers.

Apparently Johnny goes after you-know-who down to Mexico

Honestly, I love the cheese - only got into it this holiday season and I've breezed through all the seasons.

It's interesting how much physical changes the younger characters go through season to season when the whole thing is supposed to have happened just over the course of a year or so.

Love the hawk screech they use whenever Hawk/Eli does something noteworthy.

And the background sound for Quiet!!

What a self-righteous, annoying, close minded individual Danny can be. They egos of the two main adult characters are so fragile, but that's what makes the show work I reckon.

While I'm almost always rooting for Lawrence, my favourite characters are probably Mandy, Miguel, - both the most mentally.balanced people on the show, maybe add in Miguel's Mum. I love Miguel's Yaya too. Following them would probably be Hawk and Robby.

I actually like the fact that these teens on the whole actually respect elders/parents - the exception being Danny's son - which makes them naturally easier to like and root for, unlike most shows which paint teenagers as selfish, spoilt, monsters with all the entitlement in the world.

Think I'm seven episodes in, it's still fun, but lacking something.

Johnny's still the best thing about it.

Would be great if it's the focus of the next series.

Season 4 was pretty good. Terry Silver is a good addition.

I honestly love how unaware he is of anything. Like when the girl asked about gender fluid people and he said it's important to hydrate.

I mean it's shite. Objectively, it is shite. It is great though.

The storyline makes feck all sense. The acting is questionable at best. The fighting is laughable. It's not meant to be taken seriously though. It's like Sweet Valley High or Hang Time or one of those shows. Brain chewing-gum job. It's good craic though.

Thought that was easily the best series since Season 1. The characters seemed to generally make fairly understandable decisions, they blurred the line even more between “good” and “bad” and the likely ending was kept uncertain. Can’t wait for Season 5.

One of the head scratchers is how really old men seem to be the strongest! Surely you're slower, less able to absorb pain, and weaker - just ask Holyfield.

Must say, the ease with which Silver dispatched Johnny Lawrence suggests he's by far the best fighter currently in the show (unless Amanda is hiding something we don't know).
We've seen Lawrence fight against Kreese, Danny, even Robby, and at none of those times did he look outclassed. Next thing, Silver lures a fit and firing Johnny out to nowhere and gives him an epic beat down without breaking a sweat.

To compete with someone of Silver's age that still trains 3-4 hours a day, you'd basically have to be a pro-MMA fighter in peak physical condition for their 20s or early 30s and train 8 hours a day. If they trained continuously since the mid-80s they have insane experience and if they stay in physical condition they are still in very good shape

In the show, you have a bunch of teenagers who just started training, two middle-aged guys that only train part-time and then Kreese and Silver who look like they train for a few hours every day. I'd certainly bet on a 60-year master who has trained every day for 50 years over teens or part-timers. I actually think Chozen is probably the most badass since he seems to have dedicated himself to training since the 86 movie.

According to the characters themselves, Kreese has been scrounging from place to place to survive and Silver left that life a long time ago.

In addition, even if they'd been in training (which they haven't), there's a clear scientific reason why physical combat fighters (or competitors from any sport) retire - at some point they get to the other side of that diminishing returns peak, cell regeneration slows, they grow weaker, their speed goes, their stamina goes, etc.
Look at Holyfield, he stayed absolutely ripped, obviously been training, but got knocked out by an amateur in one round. The same will happen to an aging MMA fighter. Kreese and Silver have a style that's all about aggression and strength and are probably in their late 60s or 70s ... that's old!

It makes sense that the two main characters, Danny and Johnny could have an edge over teenagers, but there's no explanation for Silver being so much better than everyone in a physical confrontation.

Anyways, the show is all fun and games, not meant to be taken seriously, and it helps the story for Silver and Kreese to be as dangerous as they are

There’s something about silver that brings chills down you. Maybe I’m getting flashbacks of his manipulative nature in karate kid 3 but he is quite a scary villain.

How good a fighter are these people supposed to be anyway? I mean for all we know Lawrence got like 3-4 years of training from Kreese as a kid and then he dropped the sport?!
I haven't watched the movies, so I don't have the full back story, but maybe Silver, being super rich and obsessed, had more intense and longer training, so he's a more skilled fighter to begin with. Then Johnny ruins is body with booze and junk food, while Silver seems to be in top shape, getting little breakfasts from his personal chef, making the age gap less relevant.
And the scene in question also starts off with a very upset Johnny getting ambushed with an unguarded blow to his head, so if the above doesn't convince you it could be argued that he wasn't fully there, while Silver had been prepared.

I loved Terry Silver in this season. The perfect OTT villain that the show needs. I did wonder if he was going to kill kreese

One thing I don't want to see any more of is Johnny and Daniel fighting. Please, no more, I've had my fill.

All of them seem to be state level fighters at best, which is nothing special. I don't know about Sliver, though.

All I know is that in the movies nobody could touch Mr Miyagi. Nobody could lay a glove on him.

Did anyone else feel old when Daniel's daughter said that Johnny was in his 50's now?

Well, in the logic of the KK universe it's common. Remember, Mr. Miyagi was the most badass and he was an old man in the original movies. Kreese was in his prime then and Miyagi easily defeated him. So Silver being the most badass so far (until Chozen comes in) certainly follows the logic of this fictional universe. And after Kreese meets Silver, they show Silver has that secret training room which implies he has been keeping up with training all these years.

Now, this does have some basis in reality as I've known people who at 60 had been training every day for 50 years. They'd been in so many fights, street and competitive, that they will still have a massive advantage over any normal person. Could they beat a Khabib Nurmagomedov? No, of course not. But they could certainly beat someone like Daniel or Johnny in their 40s who didn't maintain their training consistently for decades and teens that have only been training 1-3 years.

I mean, all she has to do is smile and everyone melts.

The tournament final would be her vs her opponent punching themselves in the face three times in rapid succession.

If it makes you feel any better the actor is closer to 60 than 50.
The actor that plays Silver is younger in real life than Ralph Machio. That blew my mind when I found that out.

Loved the last two episodes but the rest was a drop in quality and felt a bit stale. Think it sets up the next season well though but it should probably be the last. Love the music too.

Sometimes I watch it and am annoyed at myself for enjoying it and sometimes it’s genuinely great. it’s kinda the best worst show on tv.

Definite drop in quality since the first couple of seasons, which were very good indeed. Writing has gone pretty downhill, can see they needed to bring in new characters to make enough of a story, and lots of flashbacks filler.

Funniest thing for me was I thought the son had been recast so different does the actor now look  !
