Thank God that this fecker won't even consider us so I shouldn't worry to much about him coming over.

It'll ruin us if he somehow came over here just for the money , I genuinely don't get why so many of our fans are wet dreaming about him

His pimp is extremely active these days, annoyingly active. Nothing will be decided before all offers are on the table this summer anyway, so everything that is said between now and then is just talk.
This next half year will be a big test for him. If all the transfer talk affects his motivation on the pitch or not. Would be be a bad sign if it does. Let's see.

Barcelona are still €1.5 billion in debt right? How could they finance a circa €250-300mil package for Haaland?

I think City and RM are the most likely options, but Chelsea and us (if we manage to salvage the season and get CL) will be in the mix too when summer comes. I can't see how Barca can afford him or how he could choose PSG or any other team outside LaLiga or EPL. Bayern could happen, but it would be very surprising.

By borrowing even more from Goldman Sachs. They keep on lending them money. At the rate they're going they're going to own the club soon.

€1,350M gross debt - €675M net debt before the transfer market.

Until the end of the season it will not be known exactly how much the real debt is. There is a lot of financial engineering because of the issue of guarantees.

If Barcelona are able to get rid of some players and lower the wage bill (Umtiti, Coutinho, Dembele), then they would have room for Haaland.

So Haaland to Barcelona isnt entirety fantasy now. Interesting. Helluva sales pitch to Haaland. Why go share the limelight with Mbappe at Madrid when we will build the team around you at Barcelona and you will be the star.

No team in particular.
I mean that's fine & that's your opinion.

All I say is that I don't see why if his dad played for our biggest rivals - why would he not move to such a strong club in their prime where he can go help them win a CL?

Why wouldn't he want to play under Pep? Why would he want to play for City in the future when we have no idea who their manager might be?

Instead he wants to go to Real Madrid under a manager like Ancelotti who was an Everton coach in the PL - wants to share the limelight with Mbappe, wants to play with ageing players like kroos and modric etc.

Madrid maybe the biggest club in the world but they are not playing or looking like a CL finalist these days; whilst Liverpool, Chelsea and City are.

I don't need to even start with Barcelona.

Sure he always wanted to go to La Liga as he has said - but again I don't see why he wouldn't do this after moving to City when they are in a sort of prime and needing a striker. Not sharing the limelight with Mbappe at Madrid and then moving to the PL after.

The only reason I see him doing this is because he is excited about demolishing a league that is in a slightly weak state compared to going to PL when it's the toughest state.
Nobody cares if Ancelotti managed Everton, he didn't become famous for managing Everton, people recognize him for managing AC Milan,Real Madrid and Chelsea.
I doubt Haaland or his father will see Ancelotti as "Everton manager" even if Everton is the last club he managed.

Plus, Real Madrid will always attract high quality players, it's the biggest club in History of european Football, they took peak Kroos from Bayern Munich, peak Beckham and Cristiano from United, peak Kaka from AC Milan, peak Owen from Liverpool, Zidane from Juventus, Figo from archi-rival Barcelona,R9 from Inter, etc...and you are doubting that they can take Haaland from Borussia Dortmund? HA

Most players dream about playing for Real Madrid, it doesn't matter if the state of La Liga is great or not at the moment.

City might have all the money in the world, but you can be sure of one thing... none of the players who have joined post-Mansour City dreamed about playing for City when they were kids.

It's 100% possible that Haaland can still prefer Real Madrid over City.

Ronaldo left United when the league was dominating the CL in similar fashion and moved to a Madrid that failed to progress past the CL 1/16 for 6 years.

Players give much less of a shit about the fabled competition of the PL than most of this league’s followers seem to think. As long as they get top dosh and a decent chance to compete for the CL, that’s all they need to know, otherwise you wouldn’t see players moving to PSG.

Madrid made the CL semi last season, there’s no reason to believe that they can’t compete with a few top signings, Haaland himself included.
Exactly.

Real Madrid will always attract quality players.

They took peak Owen from Liverpool, peak Ronaldo and Beckham from United, peak Zidane from Juventus, peak Figo from Barcelona, peak Kroos from Bayern Munich,etc... but somehow they can't attract Haaland from Borussia Dortmund...

WHAT? Yeah, i call that bs.

Plus, players don't give f about the state of the league, as soon as they get paid a lot.

Not arguing with your point at all as madrid are capable of getting whomever they want but for the sake of being pedantic
Bekham didn't want to leave , Zidane likely took the move became of his wife, Figo gone to real because barca messed up and finally kroos went there became Munich messed up so not the best examples

I would stop this off topic about Madrid getting whoever they want

This decade is full of examples of Madrid NOT getting players they wanted.

Do you remember a certain Paul Pogba or a certain Neymar or a certain De Gea or a certain Monaco player called Mbappe? Yes, Madrid wanted to sign them all and did NOT sign any of them in the end.

Some people may have short memories but I have studied Football History and I know what things are like.

The strongest thing linking Haaland and Madrid right now is Madrid are called the Vikings and Haaland is a Viking. Hardly conclusive, is it?

According to ABC Madrid won't go for Haaland this summer.
The reasons: Give Mbappe all the prominence. They also think it wouldn't be good to have two strikers of that level in the team, since in that case probably Vini would have to go to the bench.
They would try in 2023(Karim ends contract)if he still wants to come

Just imagine Barca and Madrid asked the like of Pique and Ramos to cut down their wage, just so they can give a mega wage to a new player.

Same here. I hope he goes to Barcelona so we can focus on transfers that actually make sense for the longterm

Interesting that he and Mbappe are likely to end up in La Liga. Despite all the bluster about the strength of the Premier League it still isn't the go to league for the world's very best.

It is delusional to think that he will even consider us, many of us are yet to understand the negative impact that post Fergie era mistakes has on our ability to attract star players, unless we will pay over the odds with huge salary offer.

Besides our main priority should be fixing our central midfield, if not a haaland here will be turned into a lukaku, I am sure that haaland will prefer a midfield with Kroos than one with Mctominay

Mbappe's fulfilling his dream, while it's just the next logical step on the Haaland tour saving his prime years for England.

Not that I'm arsed if he goes to Barcelona, but I'm curious how a club that not long ago had to give pay cuts to staff, and has huge debts, could afford him?

They hired the Iraqi minister of Communication Baghdad Bob/Comical Ali to feed their networks. It's just the usual Barcelona bullcrap tapping into their informant network to give an impression of normalcy.

I think it was a La Liga cap/rule on wages to income spend - in a year/based on accounts which were impacted by covid/no fans in the stadium. Debt doesn't factor into who FFP, i don't think, so doesn't factor into who they are able to sign - barring having the cash in the bank to do so. Their "income" levels, from what i understand, should return to normal'ish levels again (fans in the stadium etc) so they will have space on their wage bill for him since Messi is no longer there and they're trying hard to get the likes of Coutinho and Griezmann (permanently) off their wage bill. Dembele, from what i last read, has also not signed a renewal yet. I could be wrong re all of the above because that's just all based on memory from what I read on here. I still don't think it'll happen. It might all just be PR as Haaland will be massively expensive from what Raiola is demanding.

Likeliest he goes to Madrid or City. He might even extend at Dortmund for a year and then have a couple more clubs to choose from next year.

Warm weather + lifestyle + it's easier to dominate Elche away than Crystal Palace and when La Liga's still 2nd most popular league in the world that will likely result in individual trophies and help their 'brand' grow.

Really hope he doesn’t end up at City
Let's hope the Spanish clubs still have their pull. Typically whenever we wanted a star like Haalaand they'd pipe up :@

I reckon this could be a poor move for City. I feel this could disrupt them as the entire focus would be on getting the ball, in transition to Halaand, which he thrives on, and that isn't their game. He will face a lot more teams with his back to goal, static in twenty yards from the goal.

On the other hand, it'll probably be fine as he is very talented but these "dead cert to be a success" moves don't usually work in reality.

I've been thinking (hoping) the same. Pep's side sets up without any one real 'focal point' and Haaland risks upsetting that. Or maybe I'm just wishful thinking.

Probably the latter but I think City are best when the focal point rotates and is hard to pin down and mark. A giant Nordic target man up top means they can shut this avenue down. Same as Grealish, he's been, by all accounts a flop. Will win a PL title and some trophies but has added very little to City's team.

Maybe for South Americans and South Europeans, but not for scandies. PL is by far the most watches and followed league in the Scandinavian countries.
Liverpool and Manchester United have 10-15 x bigger fanbases in Norway than Real Madrid and Barca.

Have you heard that from Haalands mouth? His agent is out there pimping, trying to attract as many as possible to the table when the clause kicks in. The usual pundits take every bait of course. Nothing will be decided before all offers are on the table.
I hope the noise around this transfer doesn't screw up his game the next 6 months.

I think you're right, but at the same time they put in so many crosses and with his movement he'd score bucketloads.

The delivery of KDB alone will probably net him 10 goals a season. Look at all the tap ins Sterling gets.
