Where does your confidence come from?
Because Bailey, Nakamba, Young, Trezeguet, Troare are all out for Villa and Ollie Watkins is just coming back from Covid.

We had Fred, Bruno, Rashford all rested last match should have enough to beat them.

Would like us to go almost full strength tonight and switch to 5-2-1-2, but I doubt it.

    ---------------------------------------Henderson-----------------------------------------
    ------------------------Jones-------Varane--------Maguire------------------------
    Dalot-------------------------Matic----------Fred------------------------------Telles
    -------------------------------------------Bruno----------------------------------------------
    -----------------------------------Cavani------Rashford--------------------------------

Think we will see the 4-2-2-2 with Ronaldo and Cavani upfront, Bruno and Greenwood behind them.

Leaked line ups appearing showing Ronaldo dropped/ rested, be interesting if so despite me being a big fan of his. I think the team plays a certain way with him and it would be interesting to see us with Cavani up top only but I don't think he will be dropped.

maybe Ronaldo will leave in January and many of you will get what you want/deserve for scapegoating him for the teams problems. A person can only take so much daily hammering from the media and fanbase before they crack.. and say I don't need this.

If Villa are forced to field a weakened side and we’re at full strength we have a decent chance of beating them.

They're hardly all key players tbf, they've played about 100 more minutes combined than 3 of their players have individually, their expected line up isn't that far away from their best XI:

    Martinez
    Cash - Konsa - Mings - Targett
    Luiz - McGinn - Ramsey/Sanson
    Watkins - Ings - Buendia

You are more informed than I so.
I am hoping you are right. :nervous:

Watkins coming back from Covid, Ings second game back and Buendia has flattered to deceive, McGinn missed the last game too and they don’t have much of a bench.

Ronaldo will not leave in January, he's focused on the season, I also pointed out I'm a fan of his but that it would be interesting (Not least to prove he isn't the problem). I think you've also chose the wrong person as he seems to feed off criticism, it doesn't seem as though you know much about him at all without being rude.

It's just laughable how many people don't include Maguire in their first XIs and then are all over the other threads moaning about attitude and commitment.

Funny because the players who have shown attitude and commitment are generally the one's that get all the stick. We finished 2nd last season with Maguire, Shaw, AWB, Fred, McTominay etc...didn't see any problems off the pitch either.

The new "flavours of the month" i.e. Varane Ronaldo, van de Beek, Bailly, Sancho etc...get away largely unscathed...what have any of them done for the club in the last ten years? Varane, Sancho and Ronaldo come in and we have looked absolutely dreadful.
Yeah, Varane with his 4 or 5 games, Bailly about 2 games, Van de Beek, Sancho barely playing, it's definitely their fault alright.

And what has Ronaldo ever done for United eh?

If Ralf has managed to turn it around within a week of the
at shitshow last week, then he is a genius.
Honestly, I think it's more on the players than the manager. I swear some of our lot pick and choose when to perform.

    4-0 United? Nah, not tonight.

I don't see a version of this where we win. Villa are on the up and up and we are... yeah. And Slippy will have them whipped up for this. Maybe if we draw it out to penalties and with some luck defeat them there.
Let's not forget Villa did lose their last game, 2-1 against Brentford & have lost 3 out of their last 4 games.

I'm not blaming you. I'm just saying the criticism of Ronaldo (not just from the media but our own fanbase) is way over the top and out of order. He shouldn't be the scapegoat after being the main reason this club has got the respect back at still being in the Champions League past Christmas. And after everything he's done for the club (club legend don't forget) he deserves/commands more respect than some are giving him.

Patrice Evra said the reason he left Juventus is because he felt the scapegoat for all the teams problems (which as proven this season are still there without Ronaldo). He will leave United if the same happens..

so like you said if Ronaldo doesn't play and the team doesn't perform then atleast people can get off the lads back for once. But I bet that doesn't happen as people have agendas it's clear (like the person above mentioning what has Ronaldo ever done for the club? Eh he's a club legend.. or the person bringing up the slave thing like they haven't forgiven him and still got an axe to grind). They won't stop as they have gone too far already by scapegoating Ronaldo for all the teams problems they won't admit they was wrong..

The players owe us a performance. Whether these prima donnas give us one is something none of us know. Still pissed off with that Wolves game, not just the result but the inept performance they put in that night.

    Starting XI

    De Gea

    Dalot - Lindelof - Varane - Shaw

    McTominay - Fred - Fernandes

    Greenwood - Cavani - Elanga

subs: Heaton, Wan-Bissaka, Telles, Van De Beek, Matic, Mata, Lingard, Amad, Rashford

Score Prediction: Manchester United 2-1 Aston Villa (more in hope than expectation)

We're in a massive massive transition and we are doing it mid season. It's too soon to start writing everything off as a disaster. This will take time but it has to be done.

Win. I don’t care how just fecking win. I can’t bear the thought of that smug cnut Gerrard’s face if he gets one over on us, I’m imagining a Mourinho-esque sprint down the touch line. The stuff of nightmares.

Well that makes watching the game even less appealing than what it was.. No Ronaldo, no party! :(

i will watch the soaps instead. Emmerdale is really good right now with Meena.
Feel the opposite. Watching a legend like Ronaldo fall over himself like Welbeck on the worst of days breaks my heart. Would love to see Mason get a chance there, one of few players in decent form atm

No one seems to be suggesting that Donny will get a start? Ideal chance I'd have thought??
From the very limited history we have, when players have told Ragnick they want out, he leaves them out (not in a malicious way) so would doubt it.

Terrible decision to leave him out
We are still paying his wages and he should be playing till he is sold
We actually need him at the moment as he is the only striker we have that can hold up play

Ronaldo? Surely Cavani is better at hold up play
