I reckon he'll go to Sevilla but it'll be toward the end of the window + on loan. We will lower our loan fee just to get something for him for the rest of the season and re-evaluate an actual move for the summer. If he does well for them, maybe they'll stump up a fee.

He's only going to Sevilla if his wages will be matched and half or more taken care of by United. I think Martial knows this is as big of a paycheck he's going to get in his entire career, United grossly overpaid him (and Rashford) and it's only making a move that much more difficult. I wouldn't be surprised if this breaks down and he winds up staying. You can't move players that have done so little but are paid as star players that easily, especially if they're aware that it's only going to be lower pay from here on out.

I sold him to Munich on my FM save for 15 million and paying 120,000 a week of his wages until 2024. Quick look here he’s got 2 goals in 15 appearances for them and they have him on 105k a week. That’s about right these days. We totally jump the shark with these young players deals and then complain when they don’t show enough hunger. Will probably end up at Arsenal or Spurs on reasonable money in a few years and Sevilla or whoever will get a lot more for him than we could

This is exactly the reason. I mean there is so much evidence of this at our club, yet we keep doing it.

The first one was Janujaz.. a few good months, link with PSG and massive contract...rest is history
We have done it time and time again, including DDG although this season he has improved.

Alexis, Martial, Shaw are evidence of players that do not deserve the wage.

How Luke Shaw is on 200k a week is beyond me, he has had max of 6 months good form at once. There is no United player with consistency.

He’s the highest paid left back in the world now I’m 99% sure. I do like Shaw a lot but cmon!

So I agree on the money. Give it to them when they are challenging hard or winning stuff but paying mostly for loyalty and sitting in 8th- 2nd is what’s wrong with the club. Give me Dan James and Fred any day over Martial or Rashford. You can find decent to good players who’ll run through walls for you on low money. That’s your press. Get one or two genuine world class potential players in with that and watch it all click. Problem with us is the balance is way off and the hunger isn’t there.

Am sure others have picked up on this, but there were pages of people arguing that a player would not lower his wages to go out on loan etc... by all accounts, it seems that Coutinho did that to faciliate his loan to Villa.

I don't understand why people assume Arsenal or Spurs can afford them when they are over 26 and on high wages. If they couldn't do it with Man Utd to fight for top 4 in EPL with the resources Man Utd has, how can they do it with Arsenal and Spurs with even less resources.

So when he goes to Seville or some other lower club they will “only” be paying him about 100k a week, we will be paying the rest until 2024 or whenever his deal with us runs out, he won’t move otherwise I assume. His deal with Sevilla might be for a further 2 years on the 100k. Spurs or Arse can pay 30/40 million and get him at 28 and put him back on 200k again easily enough. It’s just that we way overpay relative to output and actual market value. That’s why we can’t catch a decent fee for anyone.

i don't even know anyone in Arsenal other than Auba has over 200k/week salary and he had 2 very good seasons prior his new deal. In Spurs may be only Kane. Good luck for them to get that in Arsenal and Spurs. The pay gap between Man Utd and Arsenal/Spurs is extremely huge.

Rangnick is a horrible person for his treatment of Martial when you compare it to Cavani. Both want to leave yet only one was is being treated like an outcast. Horrible management from him so far.

Cavani told Rangnick he's staying, didn't he?

After the fact? Maybe if Martial was told how important he is to the team as Rangnick has been screaming since he arrived he too would want to stay.
From what has been said, and this is only speculation, Martial intended to leave no matter what, and I don't blame him to be honest.
Rangnick has also said all players have a chance and all should stay and fight for their place, or even if they want to leave be professional. Read into that what you like, but I doubt he is freezing Martial out for no reason

A lot of assuming going on here and it seems like you have already read into what you like.

The guy has been treated like shite this season although he is coming back from a serious injury to his knee. His girlfriend came out and exposed that he hasn't been injured for months. Rangnick should do more to get him back in the side instead of freezing him out. Our season has gone to shit because we are relying on other players that are doing just as bad.

Great to have you on the Caf Anthony

Id say the blame is mostly on United. Most players that come here stagnate.

Brought back a 36 year old to a club that needed to prioritize midfielders.
Stagnation? I’m not sure it’s stagnation, rather motivation.

He hasnt been spotted in the sqaud tonight. He isnt injured so why isnt he playing? He is being frozen out.
Or he doesn't want to be selected as he wants to leave, who knows? We don't know either way, maybe Rangnick doesn't rate him over the others, there could be many reasons

He is not frozen out, he literally has stated he wants to go and is not changing his mind and those statements were made before Ralf had taken his first training session. Ralf quite clearly said he would not stop him but why would he play him when he does not want to be here? Martial has certainly not been treated horribly, he was utter gash for all of last season and started this season by managing to actually look even worse. If he was any fecking good clubs would be knocking on our door with genuine offers and not laughers like Sevilla wanting us to take no fee and pay him to play for them.

He wants to leave because we wont play him even though our other stars are doing just as bad. At the start of the season he was just getting back from a long injury so how exactly do you expect one of our best players to be back to full fitness?

The problem here is the difference in treatment between 2 players who want to leave United. One is getting so much praise and convincing while the other is being frozen out. Horrible to a player that has been good for us over the years while we were a mess going through different managers. So shite how he is ending his time here. We owe Cavani nothing.

I don't think people are saying players won't do that from time to time, in my case I'm saying Martial won't and I'd be very pleasantly shocked if he proved me wrong.

The bolded does not explain why last season he showed the mobility of a corpse and a total lack of desire. So far as Cavani is concerned, besides being a better player than Tony could ever dream of being he has never once said he wanted to leave, that is purely your imagination. I don't doubt he sought clarity on his role with the signing of Ronaldo and then the change in Manager but that is a world away from going straight to the media and spouting off that you are leaving and the decision is made before you have even had a conversation with the new man. If Tony had shown any interest in giving it a go under Ralf then you might have a case but to blast Ralf for not selecting a player who quit on him before he walked through the door is ridiculous.

Maybe he should be considering how terrible our campaign is going no?
We already have one cf who doesn’t really run that much, but scores fairly regularly.
Should we replace him with someone who doesn’t really run that much and hardly ever scores?
Hopefully Sevilla pony up - that is martial’s level.
