Is there a place for Rashford as a regular starter?

It really is a shame we’ve no one on the bench or the rest of the team to replace anyone. We’ve literally no replacements except for Wing backs and Centre backs.

He cannot play in a pressing system and he is not suitable for tiki taka either. If he continues like this, in 2 years time he ll be only suitable for WBA.

Lost it again….useless

First time I’ve seen a player visually refuse to go for a ball in a professional game should be in the reserves

He's not suited to any system as he basically only wants to play if he thinks he can shoot. Unless you're producing Ronaldo/Messi numbers then a top team can't carry a player like that imo. He'll have his moments but until he changes his mentality I don't think it's sustainable for a team.

Honestly, if Rashford was playing in Burnley, no team would pay more than 10 millions for him. It is amazing how much he has stagnated.

Might be a great human being, but his professional football performance is the lowest it's ever been right now and for me, he's the only one with the tools to fix it.

He looked like he was about to cry at one point and I felt it to be honest, I bear zero hate or even dislike to Rashford - it's painful to see him play like this.

He was positive at the start. Then I think it dawned on him that he’s just no good at the moment and he got depressed and waited to be taken off.

Give Elanga minutes. Took on his man and got a cross in. More than Rashford has done in 10 games. Rashford needs to be dropped. If he isn’t happy tell him to feck off. Tired of him looking so depressed whilst doing one best and well played jobs in the world.

Not a chance. Need to bed Sancho in now and give Rashford time on the bench. If any of the front 4 are out then the system needs rebuffed to bring Lingard etc on, that’s how far Rashford has fallen

shouldn't even be in the squad let alone first team, he should be fined for playing so poorly, about as bad as Martial.

It isn't a mentality thing but rather a footballing IQ thing. Rashford has talent, sure, but he just isn't a bright footballer and I've been saying this since forever.

It’s puzzling. Marcus doesn’t usually come across as the type of lad who would carry a bad smacked arse attitude onto the pitch, and I keep thinking has he had the operations and they haven’t worked, because he looks like a player who’s been told one more crack on the shoulder and your career is over at 24. Maybe this is the case and he can’t say? But then I see him out and about looking like a Lingard clone and wonder if I’ve got him all wrong.

For whatever reason I just don't think he's enjoying football currently.

I mean he's not always had the world on his shoulders demeanour has he? Or have I not noticed it before?

He is genuinely a top level player when he's on it but miles off that currently.

And replace the selfish Greenwood with Sancho. Does Greenwood even know what a pass is? Also, doesn't help that neither of them track back or do any defensive work at all.

He looked really off today, everything from body language to facial expressions was from someone who didn’t want to be on the pitch. Hopefully he can bounce back soon.

Has anyone actually thought that he might be suffering mentally?

Everyone so quick to call him out, yet it's quite obvious he lacks confidence And something isn't quite right.
It could well be that the 18 months he has just had has weighed him down.
From back surgery, to politics and MBE, the guy gets hate online repeatedly, yet also has to adhere to this higher level of morals for a footballer, all this at a still very young age.

Can't be easy, and I feel like he needs a rest mentally, not physically.
I feel for him.

Yep, I've mentioned this elsewhere. Of course, it comes with the caveat of being an armchair psychologist/psychiatrist, but it looks like he's going through significant mental health issues.

Came here to post similar to the above, glad it wasn’t just my mind playing tricks, thought the guy was having an anxiety attack or something at one point.

Sad to see as his mentality seemed steely a couple of seasons back, and he was on track to be one of our top scorers of all time.

I think he needs some time out, or at least some psychological support, he looked like a man who was ready to give it up and go and live in the wilderness tonight.

Not having it that the guy is “lazy” or whatever, far too simple an explanation for this drop in performances and drastic change in overall demeanour.

It's definitely not laziness, he still is working hard, but his decision making is taking too long, which is a sure fire way to tell it's a mental issue.
He is over thinking things, leading to bad decisions and that moment in the second half where he didn't even challenge for the spilt ball. Usually instinct would take over if in a good place, but quite obvious he needs some help to get back to his best.
I sincerely hope he gets it, and gets it quick as he is an asset to United on and off the pitch.

Guess what, most people don't enjoy their job.

Moping around with a face like a slapped arse isn't the answer.

Feel sorry for Rashford now, if he's picked he's obviously going to play but it's clear trying to force him into form again isn't going to work for the team and definitely isn't working for his well-being.

He's a regular, unfortunately we need to accept that we haven't got anything better.

He's an England squad player at best, outside the starting 11 and behind the likes of Saka. Sancho and Greenwood similar. That's the level our forwards are at right now.

Longer term, yes. He's shown enough in the past to justify continued investment.

Right now, no. He needs an extended break and a reset. The whole season has been a disaster.

A few years ago, I would have said he was as good a left forward as any in the premier league, up there with Sterling and Mane. Whilst those two have generally maintained their high levels in the main, Rashford has fallen off a cliff. I have no idea what’s going on but there is something psychologically not right with the lad and he needs an arm round him asap to snap the hell out of this. If he carries on like this, we’ve got another Antony Martial case on our hands.

No. He should be sold while his stock is still relatively high. I'm sure Barcelona would give us £100m.
PSG always wants him but not sure if anyone dare to put in a bid now after watching him in this year

If I am Rashy i wouldnt bother to open Redcafe for a year ot two.

I really hope he starts doing simple things like holding the ball and short passes until he gains his confident
